  1. I suppose you are right. I do want to thank everyone on the boards for dealing with my whining and ranting. This is very new to me. Though not the worst thing that can happen, and certainly not the end of the world, I always assumed food allergies and such were things that happened to OTHER people, and not me. lol. So its all very surreal right now. I think...
  2. I actually dont have a gall bladder, it was removed 13 years ago.
  3. Thanks everyone. I have always been a good 40-50 pounds over weight. Last year, I worked for the Post Office (temp) and walked between 8-9 hours a day, up and down stairs, carrying a 30lb bag, etc. I quickly lost 28 pounds in a few months. I left in Dec and by March, I had gained all 28, plus 5 more. In 3 months. My Dr agreed that I shouldnt have gained...
  4. My dr appt with the GI isnt until Tuesday, but I have been playing around with eliminating foods and seeing what happens. I tend to react almost immediatley. I went 2 days without eating Gluten and felt really..fantastic. I wasnt dragging, I felt alert and awake and this is just after 2 days. I was still having some digestion issues but I have always had...
  5. I have only been recently been tested for celiac disease, but one of the signs my dr took as me having celiac disease was my startling weight GAIN! I gained 36 pounds in less than 3 months. After checking my thyroid (I do have Hypothyroidism) and seeing that being good, she checked my vitamin levels and saw I was deficient in everything. She then sent me...
  6. I am betting everyone is different. My sis in law doesn't feel gluten effects until the next day, usually. I feel them within an hour. I get really bad sinus pressure and swollen glands, and an ear ache followed by digestive issues a few hours later but usually I am "ok" the next day, until I eat it again.
  7. Hi there. I am not diagnosed yet. I was diagnosed with IBS 11 years ago. I am 35 now, but since I was 17 I have been dealing with, what I call, "Stomach of Death". There are some days when I seriously think I am going to pass out from pain and nausea, and just the running to the bathroom every hour or so is pretty draining on its own. I have learned...
  8. I work in a teeny restaurant and I have to admit, it is VERY hard to accomodate food allergies. I bring my own food to work unless I feel like ordering a plain salad. For Celiacs, there really isnt anything I would reccomend. Our cooking surfaces are SO SMALL that in order to serve them safely, the cook would have to ONLY be cooking for that table. He wouldn...
  9. I dont see the specialist until the 22nd.I assume I will meet with him and then go from there. I can handle my stomach issues because I have been dealing with that for 17 years and its gotten to the point where I am just so used to it, its like routine. Its the brain fog, dizzy spells and nausea thats really wearing me down.
  10. I waitress in a restaurant with a tiny kitchen. We have always tried very hard to accomodate allergies but sometimes it is very difficult not to CC because, as I said, the kitchen is just SO small and everything is on top of each other. So as I am not Dx yet, I am not gluten-free. But today, I just really didn't want to feel lousy at work so I had the...
  11. Thanks everyone. I didnt have any more blood tests done, my Primary pretty much passed that over to the GI dr. I dont see him for another 2 weeks though. I know I have to continue eating gluten, but I never NOT ate Gluten so I am curious to see if I go one day or maybe 2 without it, if I would notice a difference. Would that 1 or 2 days 2 weeks before seeing...
  12. Hello all, I'm new I have had some problems for a long time but always accepted them as "normal" for me. I have had serious digestion problems for 17 years. I saw a GI dr maybe 10 years ago and he shrugged his shoulders and said it was Ibs. I just dealt with it and assumed it was normal to have to think about where all my restroom options were wherever...
