  1. I am still new to it too. 4 months in and feeling much better. I have been glutened, always my own fault. My blood tests and endoscopy show negative, but my dr still believes I have celiac disease based on how I feel when I don't eat vs. eat gluten. When I don't eat it, I feel great. I feel awake, is how I describe it. I can think straight and my head is...
  2. I am the same way. ALl the years prior to being gluten-free, I always had what I know now were symptoms, but I just lived with them every day without realizing why it was happening. When I was finally diagnosed, my Dr said I had very little damage done but she believed I was in the early stages of noticeable damage and had I waited a few more years, it would...
  3. Thank you, no I havent begun to isolate, but I think that is my next step. My primary was so sure it was Celiac that I guess I jumped on that idea too because it would be so easy to explain. I think I have a big process ahead of me
  4. I posted a few days ago about a possible yeast problem... SInce April of this year, I have been poked and prodded by 4 different doctors, racked up thousands in medical bills and just been sick for what seems, forever. Since 1997, I have been diagnosed with "IBS" and I just lived with it until I started feeling other things like migranes and dizziness...

    ARCHIVED Yeast

I have now been gluten free for almost 3 months. I mostly feel better but I have started noticing that sometimes I still have issues after eating. I noticed the other day when I opened a new bag of Gluten free pretzels. after about 20 mins, I was so nauseated that I had to lay down. The room was spinning and I felt like I would vomit. AllI could do was...
  6. I agree with go ahead and bring your own. I would if I had too. Thankfully, my Sis in law is also Celiac and she cooks dinner every year. I would die if I had to eat at my mother's, she still thinks Gluten free either means Sugar free, or that we can ONLY eat whole wheat. AY yi yi!! My sis in law was diagnosed WAY before me and she always brought her own...
  7. Usually, I just go to bed. Whether it's a nap, or down for the night. I usually at least feel functional after wards. I am only a month of being gluten free. Before, when I was trying to be gluten-free but would slip, I would feel sick but nothing major. Now that I am a month free, it hits me a little harder than I expect it to. I ate 2 bites of my daughters...
  8. Thanks! I have been hearing a lot about Almond flour, I havent seen it at my stores so I wonder where to find it? Whole Foods. maybe?
  9. lol Thanks, and no, I had been gluten-free off an on for the last 4 months, but finally buckled down and I have been totally gluten-free for about 3 weeks now. I dont really rely on products like this, but sometimes I just really crave it. Sigh. I do really like Udis white bread and double chocolate muffins, so at least I have something. I need to learn how...
  10. I went and bought some today because I was craving biscuits. I was so excited when I made them, they came out looking beautiful!!!! Of course, like all gluten-free foods, when I picked one up, it crumbled in my hand, and when I put it in my mouth it immediatley dissolved and felt and tasted like paste Anyone know any tricks to make it better?
  11. In my experience, at least with the brands I have tried so far, when it comes to gluten-free rolls and breads, you need to toast or grill them really well. Maybe I just haven't gotten used to the texture, but thats what I need to do.
  12. I don't buy many gluten Free products at all. I have a loaf of gluten-free white bread and a loaf of gluten-free Cinn Raisin bread in the freezer. Once in a while, I will buy a box of gluten-free cookies, or some gluten-free mix to make cookies for when I feel like having one. Once in a GREAT while, i will buy Udi's gluten-free Chocolate chip muffins but...

    ARCHIVED Finally

thanks...I think. lol She originally wanted me on the prilosec long term. When I went gluten-free for a while over the summer, I stopped taking it and had NO reflux symptoms at all. I went back on bread (donuts and muffins are my weaknesses) and teh reflux came back with a venegence, it would keep me up at night, so I went back on the prilosec. She had...
  14. Sandra, Up until this morning, all of my drs told me that gluten was not my problem..well ok I did have 2 tell me it was possibly gluten intolerance but the other 2 told me absolutley it was NOT Gluten. So I kept eating bread. I kept eating donuts and cake. When people said to me "I thought you couldnt have it" I would just say, I can have whatever...

I am not sure? She just told me that my vitamin D is still low and to continue on my high dose supplement.

    ARCHIVED Finally

After months of being told I was possibly gluten intolerant but definitely NOT Celiac, my GI dr today tells me that after looking at all my labs, doing research, talking to colleagues and having another patient exactly like me, she is diagnosing me as having Celiac Disease. She believes it is what she calls "latent Celiac", that what I am experiencing is the...
  17. I do not have Celiac, but I believe I have intolerance. I feel it within 15 mins. It's not always stomach issues but more of a woozy feeling, light headedness, sometimes I feel like my heart is beating faster. It's not because of accidental glutening, this is when I say forget it, and eat something like a bagel. Its hard for me being "intolerant" because...
  18. I had some toast a few days ago, I figure sometimes since I am "Only" Gluten intolerant and not Celiac, whats the hard (this is just how I rationalize bad behavior..I dont really think like that). Well all day yesterday, I was a nut case. I was crying, and angry and yelling at my family for nothing. I actually forced myself to stand still and breathe deep...

    ARCHIVED "cheating"

I dont have Celiac, but I am Gluten Intolerant. Through the last 6 months of being tested and poked, prodded and sedated, I went through various stages of being gluten free. I went totally gluten-free for a while and felt amazing. My dr told me I was fine and gluten was NOT my problem, so I went back to eating and feeling lousy. I had another dr tell me the...
  20. The longest I went gluten-free was 3 weeks and I felt A M A Z I N G!!!! I fell off the wagon and have been feeling pretty crappy all the time again. I do not have Celiac, I am Gluten Intolerant. I just went 4 days and felt great again and then stupidly ate some stupid cake at work today. I am not in pain, just feel lousy. I cannot say why I do this to myself...
  21. I went through 4 months of testing by 3 different doctors. I had multiple blood tests, genetic tests and a biopsy. They all agree that I do not have Celiac disease but 2 out of the 3 doctors believe I am Gluten Intolerant. I was told again today by my primary dr to stop eating it. I seem to not be bothered by cross contamination, and since I dont have Celiac...
  22. I really dont think I could ever give up coffee unless I knew it was something that would directly kill me. lol I am a coffee drinker for the flavor though, not so much the caffine, so I would be willing to switch to decaf if needed. I think I have been drinking coffee so regularly, and for so long that I only notice when it is decaf. Meaning, that I dont...
  23. I am gluten intolerant, not Celiac, and I notice that cross contamination doesn't affect me, but as far as making your other half understand, I get it. My husband wasn't all that supportive at first either. He kept telling me that I was Gluten-phobic and it was all a fad, the "newest thing" and it was all in my head. After 3 weeks gluten free, he...
  24. Good advice! I had gone gluten-free for 3 weeks after I had all my testing but before I got my actual results. I never felt better in my life! But when the dr said Nope, not celiac and she basically didnt believe in Intolerance...I started just eating whatever. I went to a new Dr and they said it was likely intolerance..but it wasnt enough to make me stick...
  25. Mine was negative too and I was told I am gluten intolerant but without a firm diagnosis, I have been just eating whatever and getting sick, telling myself its something else and not gluten...i know I am fooling myself. I feel sick and I really don't know why I'm doing it. I wish I could just be motivated enough and just do what I need to do already
