  1. Late to respond..but yes, I gained a LOT of weight. Last year, I was a temporary letter carrier with the Post Office. After 9 months of walking and climbing stairs for 9 hours a day, I had lost 30 pounds. I felt so amazing except for my stomach issues I always had. When my assignment was over (temp), I went to work in an office. Within 2 months, I gained...
  2. I am so happy I found these!! I have always been a muffin junkie. I have been mourning the loss of chocolate chip Muffins from Dunkin Donuts. I came across Udi's brand of double chocolate muffins in a freezer near the bakery in the supermarket. at 7.99 for a box of FOUR I was like omg..I cant buy these..thats SO EXPENSIVE!! but I did and when I took the...
  3. I am only 4 days in to being gluten-free and of course I don't expect to feel 100% already, but I did vote for 1-2 days because my biggest symptom complaint is gone already. My biggest troubles were/are stomach issues, brain fog, watery and itchy eyes, runny nose, nasal/ear/jaw aches, headaches and irritability. So far, my brain fog and sinus/head issues...
  4. Thats how I felt every night for the last year, but I really just ignored it. Some nights were bad and I would just lay down and tell my husband that I was just so sick. There was some nights I would catch him staring at me, worried because I was just ALWAYS sick. He said my breathing was off too. It's day 3 of being gluten-free and no, I don't expect...
  5. It was Activia light Vanilla.
  6. Thank you Cara, I see you are in Boston. I am a MA girl too I am so frustrated, and I guess I will make repeated mistakes for a while...but I was sitting here eating a yogurt all happy because I read the ingredients and it looked safe and 10 mins later I feel that familliar light headed feeling, sort of a dizzying WHOOSH, its what I feel when I eat...
  7. I have not been diagnosed officially yet, no. I had blood drawn (14 vials for 2 different Celiac tests) and my Endoscopy on Friday. My dr. strongly thinks it is Celiac and told me to go Gluten Free as of yesterday, which I did. I noticed some heartburn before and actually some "burning" feeling down my chest, like down my throat and to my stomach after...
  8. Oh wow. I really had no idea. I am so new to everything, and apparently have so much to learn. I have a habit of just dealing with aches, pains and ailments without telling anyone, so eventually I just get used to feeling awful. I had no idea what I was essentially doing to myself...with food. It makes me so upset!
  9. I had my Endoscopy Friday, you all were right it was nothing! But when I came to afterwards, the nurse gave me my discharge papers and a prescription for Prilosec. I was like..ok..whats this for? She said oh, the Dr. said you have severe acid reflux..take this. ok.. I filled it and started taking it..I did notice some heartburn but I think I just tolerate...
  10. Today's food makes me so.scared and I dont.know.if.its that medical.science is more advanced and thats why they can diagnose more problems, or that our nutrition.is so poor that more problems are arising. Scary times.
  11. This is what EVERYONE aside from my sis in law who has celiac disease has said to me. Everyone from my husband, coworkers, my boss (I waitress), friends, family, etc. EVERYONE! Oh, Gluten is the new bad guy, Dr's tell people it's gluten only because they dont know what it REALLY is. How can wheat cause this. Its just the new thing, its all in your head...
  12. I love you all. What a great place for support. I feel a lot better today :)
  13. I am so sorry. I wish I had an answer to help you. I am still being tested. I just wanted to say that I knew how you felt only I never knew it was likely Gluten doing it to me. For the last year, I have felt weak and dizzy and unmotivated every day. I look around my house and see it a mess and I cant even stand up still long enough to wash dishes each night...
  14. I am so sorry. I just saw this thread, I just posted something similar. I am angry and frustrated and sad, and I cant go gluten-free until this Friday (Endoscopy). I hope with the help of everyone here I can get through what is to come.
  15. My Endoscopy is this friday and immediatley after, I plan on going gluten-free. Regardless of the results, I plan on trying it because for the last 2 months I have been keeping notes of how I feel when I eat and the common denomonator is Gluten, I think. But anyway.. Today I was eating a donut (Glazed Stick from Dunkin Donuts) and I started crying...
  16. Thank you so much. It helps so much to vent here! I go back and forth thinking I have celiac disease and I dont have celiac disease. That its in my head, that it cant be anything other than Gluten. Yesterday I was fine. Felt great other than being tired and a little nauseus but no stomach issues. Today, I feel like the stomach issues are never ending...
  17. I am having my Endo this Friday and I am scared to death. I know I will be sedated..but will I fall asleep? I was mostly still awake during my colonoscopy at the beginning and then went out...but I want to be TOTALLY out for this. The thought of a tube down my throat...I am freaking OUT. What if I gag, I am going to panic. I am panicking just thinking about...
  18. I feel like you should try going Gluten free again anyway and see how you feel. Like someone above said, if you feel better, then there is your answer. I went to the GI doc today and she scheduled me for a full blood work and an endoscopy. She said if nothing shows up she still wants me to go gluten-free for a while and see what happens. I was really...
  19. then what do you use to wash dishes? (without a dishwasher)
  20. Thanks, I think I am mostly worried about keeping sponges.separate, and worrying that others use the wrong sponge when Im not around, etc
  21. I am not gluten-free yet so I really have no idea if the reason I feel lousy each day is because of what I ate before, or what, but I notice I get very ill within 45 mins of eating and it slowly gets better hours later, leaving.me with a constant.hungover feeling. I have stomach issues, but my biggest symptoms are all sinus like. Itchy eyes, runny.nose, migraine...
  22. we live in a small apartment without a dishwasher. I mentioned to hubby that we should buy a portable apartment dishwasher (we had one a long time ago) but he said absolutley not, we cant afford it What should I do? Am I destined to be sick forever? The whole family going gluten-free is also out of the question..how do I clean everything, kee gluten-free...
  23. I know for me, I am having a hard time coming to grips with it all. I accepted the IBS diagnosis without blinking because all I had was stomach issues. There were some days it was so bad that I felt like I used an entire package of tp and spent my day in the bathroom, and other times where I would go a week or more without any problem at all, some days I...
  24. Chocolaye chip muffins from Dunkin Donuts are my all time most favorite things to eat. I am remembering back to a few days ago when I felt AMAZING (relatively) and thats how I want to feel all the time. So I guess I will do what I need to do. I just cant wait to see the dr and find out for sure. I do know that even if she comes back and says she doesnt...
  25. I have no idea if what I feel after drinking alcohal is related to Celiac or not, but I absolutley cannot tolerate any alcohal at all. I have tried and tried..each time, within 15 mins of sipping, I get horrible pains up my back, in my kidneys and I get extremely dizzy, and a whopping headache comes on. This is only after SIPS. So I just finally said Ok, I...
