  1. Thanks for your response, Carrie. Apparently I did something wrong by posting this question on the post diagnosis board also. I didn't mean to break the posting rules here. I just wanted to check to see if anyone post diagnosis had done enterolab and I figured that some of them if they were older may not check or respond on the children's board. Again...
  2. Any thoughts? It's kind of a mute point now because I've already ordered the tests, but now I am having doubts about the money I spent on it. It says that it is ok to be gluten-free for the tests and they should still be accurate...do you think that's true? I have been struggling with this whole thing so much. I know that some of you had neg. test results...
  3. I have also been wondering about this. My daughter has been gluten-free for a little over a month now and she still has stools that are like they were pre-gluten-free diet. I am trying to figure out if she's still getting some gluten somehow. I guess I am not really sure what normal is anymore, but her stools are somewhat like pudding in consistency and...
  4. Tamara, Thanks for asking about Ella. She is doing much better and is definitely back on track. I am still not sure if she got a bug or some gluten though. I think we're still too new at this to know for sure. She seems to feel great now though! Sometimes her stools are still really mushy and gross. I'm not sure if they are just " her normal...
  5. Thanks for your replies. I couldn't find 1-800 numbers for either product, so I was just hoping someone would know. Ella has been gluten-free for a little over a month. She is SO much better for the most part, but I just wonder if she's still getting a little of something because her stools are still really gross and her tummy still looks a little distended...
  6. Ella starts her little 2 day a week preschool on Friday and I'm starting to get really nervous about her accidentally getting something she shouldn't. I have talked to the director and will meet with her teacher on Wed, but I am still just really scared. Ella is doing so well right now and I don't want things to go downhill if she gets exposures to gluten...
  7. Your story sounds somewhat like mine. My daughter was and still is very small. We actually have no small people in our family, so it always weird to us. She was tested for many different things, including celiac disease and all came back negative. They then told us that Ella had a psychiatric disorder and should be on medication for OCD. We decided then...
  8. I am wondering about Bath and Body Works Antibacterial Hand soaps and some lotions. Does anyone know if Bath and Body Works is generally gluten-free? Also, does anyone know about Wet Ones hand wipes? I think my daughter is getting some hidden gluten from somewhere because although she is still doing so much better than she was pre-gluten-free diet...
  9. Thanks to everyone who posted. Here is what Cover Girl had to say when I asked if their products contain gluten, specifically the loose powder: Subject --------------------------------------------------------------- I need to know if this product contains any form of gluten. It would also be nice to know if any of your products contain gluten. Discussion...
  10. That last sentence should say, "We are just NOW getting better" not we're just not getting better!!! That makes a big difference! Shannon
  11. celiac3270, Thanks to you too. I'm wondering if that's what's happening with my daughter when she drinks crystal light. I feel really overwhelmed right now and I'm starting to get nervous about all of the things that can bother her. Obviously all of you deal with this and have survived it, but I'm so scared about her wanting all the things she can't...
  12. Kaiti and MIchelle, Thanks for the info. Kaiti, no I don't have the Delphi list. I was also wondering about Cover Girl and Revlon cosmetics. My daughter likes to play with my makeup and I am not sure it's safe. I haven't been able to figure those out by looking online...anyone know? Thanks again! Shannon
  13. Thanks so much for the links. Those will be very helpful. I am also wondering about Cover Girl and Revlon cosmetics. Does anyone know about these? I use the loose cover girl powder and my daughter loves to pretend putting it on the the make-up brush. I hope she's not getting gluten all over her face! Thanks again, Shannon
  14. Thanks so much Kaiti. No, I don't have the list of brands that don't hide things. If you could post that, it'd be great. Thank you so much. I am just worried that I'm accidentally giving her gluten and don't know it... Thanks again, Shannon
  15. Also, what about infants and/or childrens Tylenol and Motrin? I just tried to call them and their offices are closed. Thanks so much! Shannon
  16. Does anyone know? I use Johnson's baby shampoo and Gerber Grins and Giggles, as well as Baby Magic baby wash. Also I use cover girl loose powder on my face and Ella plays with the brosh and puts it on her face...is that ok??? For some reason I never thought of all this stuff! We use Banana Boat Baby Magic Sunscreen....anyone know about that? ...
  17. I am just beginning my venture into gluten-free shopping and have some questions. First, I was under the impression that caramel coloring was not safe. However, when I called Pepsi today to ask about this Aquafina flavored water, they told me that ALL Pepsi products are gluten-free. I asked about the colas that are dark and have caramel coloring and she...
  18. Tamara, Thanks for posting. I am still not sure what's wrong with Ella. Again today, she's just not herself. She hasn't had loose stools today, but is very moody and has been crying about eating all day. We have been on this diet for a month now and she was doing SO well and this just totally stinks. I guess we'll just keep going with it and hope...
  19. Thanks for the replies. I really don't know what she has...I guess it will be hard for me to tell just yet since we have not been gluten-free for very long. Carrie, what kind of dog do you have? I'm asking because we just a King Shephard puppy. She is 3 months old. She is a pretty good little puppy most of the time, but has gone in the house 3 times...
  20. I feel as though I'm goint to blame every thing that goes wrong with Ella on gluten!! She had been doing SO well on this diet (it's been almost a month now) and then yesterday she was acting really cranky and irritable. She did say her tummy hurt. Today she has had loose stools 4 times and says her tummy still hurts. She is also saying she is hungry...
  21. Thanks for the support and suggestions for playdough! You are right...having a supportive doctor is crucial with this! I seriously felt on top of the world leaving that appointment. It was awesome! I will definitely try making that playdough. If it turns out, I want to make some to donate to Ella's pre-school class. That way I won't have to worry...
  22. Well, we met with our new family doctor today (we switched the kids from their former pediatrician after all we've been through with Ella) and we LOVED her. Not only was she very nice and personable, she seemed knowledgable about celiac disease. She actually has an aunt who has celiac disease, although all of her blood tests were negative. She just tried...
  23. I just want to thank you all again for your support. I have been so appreciative of all the support I've gotten here. I did call Ella's GI doc. and apparently he did run a Ttg but they just didn't send those results to me for some reason. She tested totally normal and therefore they do not believe she has celiac. They are basing their decision on the...
  24. Thanks so much for your support, everyone. It is so helpful to come here and talk to people who actually know what they're talking about! I may take your thoughts with me when I meet with Ella's new ped. I guess that we will just assume that Ella has a gluten intolerence and forget further testing. I hope that doesn't become an issue in the future....
  25. I just thought of another thing. When I did call and talk to the doctor's nurse, she told me that Ella had "no levels" and she had never seen a child with Ella's results end up with celiac. She said that Ella did not have a "wheat allergy". What would that have to do with anything, and how could she determine a wheat allergy from those tests? I don...
