  1. Oh heck no! That is the thought that came to my mind. I am a pharmacy tech and i know that is absolutely not acceptable. Besides that, what about the commercials they are advertising: "my cvs, this is my pharmacy". It even specifically mentions monitoring drug interactions....Haha wow!
  2. Wow! That sounds crazy! Seems like as bad as your symptoms are and the fact that your son has this genetic condition, your doctor would be okay with diagnosing you. If you go to the doctor with a headache, although they cant measure it or do bloodwork, they are quick to diagnose you as having a migraine. It seems so backwards. When on earth are they gonna...
  3. Thx guys for the comments! I am right with you roxieb73 about hoping i can get the actual diagnosis for this because i think it may be in my fam. My gma has lymphoma and diabetes super skinny with a swollen belly, my mother has constant fatigue and recurrent diarrhea and morning nausea, my brother couldnt gain a pound to save his life but eats like a rhino...
  4. I am struggling as well and i am also having allergy symptoms that are completely going haywire! I woke up this morning with swollen, burning lips that became numb and blistered. The longer and more gluten I have the worse my symptoms are becoming including allergies! I am so swollen i am about three days behind on bms. I am taking metamucil now just to keep...
  5. Okay so I am now re-glutening despite the fact the allergist said it wasnt necessary (I know better thanks to all of you and my research) . I am now eating wheat after being off gluten for just about four weeks with a few slip ups. How long do you guys think i should gluten before getting my celiac panel done? Thx guys
  6. That I think is a very hard question. I myself am undergoing testing in large because I feel many of the members in my immediate family exhibit possible signs of celiac but maybe wouldnt accept their risk even if i were diagnosed. Because it has a clear genetic link, your daughters could be at risk. You may find getting tested not worth your while...
  7. Bless your heart. I am struggling with just plain outrageous hunger too...everytime i am glutened. I will eat just about Anything! I was wondering what exactly you are craving? Is it specifically bread like sandwich bread or what? I would assume you have already tried replacing your craving by feeling up on something else that you Love to eat. And im...
  8. Anybody else out there who is in the situation where they are forced to cook with gluten rich food or with ingredients that have other things you are allergic too? I am an in home care nurse and just today i went to eat a cookie cracker (because i am now on a gluten challenge). I plopped it into my mouth before i realized it was two and there was cream in...
  9. I think I will stick with Mellow Mushroom; at least they are specifically trained to prevent cross contamination.
  10. Thank you for your advice. I will be getting an epipen as soon as I can and will start allergy testing next week as i was told i musnt have any antihistamines three days before testing. Once again thank you for your response.
  11. Went to an allergist today and he said, "Wheat allergy and celiacs are two different things; I can test you for a wheat allergy but celiacs is the same thing as gluten intolerance and you would have to see a GI doctor to see if you have gluten intolerance". Im like wow i have only been learning about gluten adverse effects for a couple weeks and even...
  12. I was wondering whether it was common that after three weeks to a month after going gluten free to develop alleriges or intolerances to new things. The first two weeks i felt great and now it seems like im allergic or intolerant to everything. I cant even drink lactose free milk or soy milk. I get very nauseas everytime i eat anything soy. I have been...
  13. I just thought i would update. Sunday i didnt drink any caffeine at all and symptoms began to subside over that weekend. When i went back to work on monday my foot spasms returned with d. The only thing i was sharing there was water from a brita water filter (drank about a liter at least everyday). I decided to take my own water in and my symptoms have completely...
  14. Hi everybody, I am 22 years old and have had anemia and several health problems my whole life including: tachyarrythmic episodes, interstitial cystitis, chronic fatigue, abdominal swelling w/constipation then diarrhea, arthritis w/ no injury and intermittent spasms in extremities. I have recently been told that i could have a sensitivity to gluten. When i...
  15. Yeah the drink mix had wheat labeled i just was an idiot and didnt think to check it b/c i bought walmart brand. It is good to know that spices must be labeled b/c other sources told me that some ingredients are processed with wheat but are claimed to be gluten free because they are so highly processed.
  16. I have not ben diagnosed as celiacs. I was told by a chiropractor of all ppl i may have an allergy to gluten based off diet journal, symptoms and medical history. Saw an ND who was supposed to order a test for gluten allergy but only ordered CBC and metabolic panel. I do not have insurance and cant afford to have doctors beating around the bush to keep getting...
  17. When i stoppedeating gluten i was taking B-12 so i think it helps tremendously. I also take gluten fre multivitamin gummies. I agree that lacking nutrients can cause that insatiable hunger. How are you coping with the diet change? Are you using alternative flours and eating a varied diet with a lot of vegetables and fruits?
  18. I have read a lot about celiac sufferers developing intolerance and allergies to other substances. I guess because it makes your immune system very inflammatory and sensitive. I think it woildnt be a bad idea to get tested for other allergies as well.
  19. I have been having weakness in my grip in my left and right hands and have recently developed extreme spasms in my left and right foot constantly. It sometimes seizes my legs. Is this a normal reaction? I have been going gluten free for about three weeks and it seems like a slip up makes me have worse symptoms than before i stopped...Never had foot seizures...
