  1. Some good tips on these replies. I guess I would double upon on saying you would be very safe if the place met all of these criterias: -Has a gluten free menu (shows they want our business, some places don't want to be bothered with it) -Serves mostly homemade or unprocessed foods (steak houses are great, fast food is not a good idea) -Has been recommended...
  2. If the waiter or person taking the order doesn't appear educated on Gluten free, the restaurant does not properly educate their staff and stay away. Take Jason's Deli for example. The person who carries out your food was able to explain to me that they brought me packaged chips so they don't risk someone not changing their gloves and reaching into the bag...
  3. Do you make your gravy from scratch or do you have one you buy? Thought I might give this a try, never made Salisbury steak before though
  4. Since breakfast is already used.... I would say spagetti (corn noodles are my favorite). I too frequently get into a dinner pinch, so when I make my meat sauce I double it and freeze half. That way next time I can just cook the noodles and thaw the sauce. I do the same thing with Sloppy Joe meat.
  5. I tried out the Rootbeer Pulled Pork recipe I found on this topic - it was great! Threw a pork shoulder into a crockpot at 9 p.m. with a can of rootbeer and when I woke up it was ready to go. I shredded it and put on some Gluten Free BBQ sauce, dill pickels, and packed 2 pieces of Rudi's white bread. This is my new go to when I don't have time to cook...
  6. I am going to Breckenridge, Colorado next week. Does anyone know of any restaurants in the area that have a good Gluten Free Menu? I will be cooking most of our meals at our lodge, but I'm sure we will eat out at some point. Side note - has anyone noticed how much easier it is for a Celiac just to rent a place with a kitchen!
  7. Correct - they use different bowls and the key is to order the sauce on the side, that way there is no risk depending on the location standards. It's a little messier, but wings are meant to be messy!
  8. After spending a great deal of time reading information on their website, I gave Buffalo Wild Wings a try and it was great! I ordered traditional wings with the Sweet BBQ sauce on the side. There are only 2 sauce's off the list for celiacs. The location closest to me also uses a seperate fryer for french fries! Anyone else had luck there?
  9. We spent 3 years going thru infertility treatment before we discovered the problem was my celiac's disease. After 30 days 100% gluten free, we conceived our first child NATURALLY! Not only can she get pregnant, many of us find it fixes our infertility
  10. I am a diagnosed Celiac-Lactose Intolerant. My Doctor does not have much experiece with my condition. Has anyone else received medical advise about a Celiac-Lactose Intolerants breast milk nutrients? I am debating if my nutrient levels will be inferior to formula. Since pregnancy, I have developed low levels of calcium and become Hypo-thyroid. Or does...
  11. I would add on to the other Omaha's residents recommendations... Speezio's is one of my regular stops - lots of seafood and gluten free pasta Crave in Mid-town Jason's Deli has a very large Gluten Free Menu, including Gluten free bread Sam & Louis Gluten Free Pizza, hold the cheese is good for Celiac + Lactose Ryan's Bistro - gluten free Mac n...
  12. Envirokids PB Panda Puffs - I don't like the other Envirokids cereals. Jessica's Gluten Free Granola at Whole Foods, delicious. Try the Pecan-Almond.
  13. Cooking for Isaiah by Silvana Nardone... I'm a big fan of pictures with the recipes. Also this one is full of every day recipes, I get really sick of just baking cook books, but I'm not a big baker.
  14. Baked Potato Bar - Chives, Onions, Ground Hamburger, Broccoli, Tomatoes, Homemade Salsa
