Hi, I went to my walmart super center today and found these Think Thin Low Carb Diet bars in cookies and cream flavor, chocolate fudge, and chunky peanut butter. They cost $1.48 a piece and my son who is 12 loved them. He does not need to lose weight but the protien is good for him and the flavors are ones kids love. Just wanted to share these for... -
Frozed blueberries are really good! Banana dipped in natural peanut butter is quick and easy for on the go. Also try a trail mix of peanuts and raisins and whatever finger food you want to add.

ILOVEOMC replied to kactuskandee's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We just found this pasta at our local health food store. It is called Bionaturae and is a rice, potato and soy pasta. My son finally said it is like the real thing after trying numerous other pastas and not liking any. The only thing I am concerned about is on the back it says" This product is manufactured in a facility that produces other products which contain... -
Hmmm, I have Interstial Cystitis but that is the symptoms but no infection. I have burning pain but when urine is cultured there is no infection and they looked in the bladder and saw the damage of Interstitial Cystitis. Now I take meds for it and it is kept under control. But you have no symptoms so it sounds like you have the opposite. Just thought I would...

The best way to lose weight is to exercise and that can be as simple as walking through your neighborhood. If it becomes a regular part of your life you can drop pounds. It will help in so many other ways too, such as mood and heart health also.

ARCHIVED School Lunches
ILOVEOMC replied to CeliacMother's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Oh, I just read another post and they mentioned Jello brand gelatin in any flavor is good to pack. Add some Cool-whip, or fruit and it is another idea. Also, Smuckers Natural Peanut butter is good to dip apple slices or bananas in. -

ARCHIVED I Know I Am Being Waaaaay Oversensitive Here
ILOVEOMC replied to skoki-mom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi, I totally agree with you. Your Mother should not be calling you "a celiac". You are a lovely person who just happens to have a disease called Celiac Disease but you are way more than just your condition. Some people may not be bothered by it and if so that's okay for them. You are bothered by it and so nobody should refer to you that way especially... -

ARCHIVED Mi-del Oreo Type Cookies
ILOVEOMC replied to ILOVEOMC's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks so much. I will get the Glutano oreo cookie since it is for sure gluten-free. I don't want to risk it for my son with these mi-del ones. The other kids can eat them now, won't they be happy? I will probably have to order the Glutano ones or check and see if locale health food stores carry them. I appreciate your speedy answer. I will pull another after... -

ARCHIVED 1 More Thing About Gf Flours
ILOVEOMC replied to Bette's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi, I thought that damage can still happen even if we don't show any symptoms. So just because we eat a certain food and don't get sick isn't enough to declare it gluten-free. Damage might be occurring but no symptoms are present. I have read something to this effect here at this sight before and wanted to bring it up. If I am wrong please advise me... -

ARCHIVED What Should I Do?
ILOVEOMC replied to AveryAndMorgansMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thanks everyone for your insights on this. This disease can be so difficult when you're a parent and have a child with celiac disease. You always wonder if it is real. My son was 11 when diagnosed this past spring. The other thing that makes me wonder is that the week before his biopsy he had a case of the fever and stomach flu with vomiting and diarrhea... -
ARCHIVED What Should I Do?
ILOVEOMC replied to AveryAndMorgansMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My son had blood work out of Prometheus lab in Calif. and his tissue transglutamase IGA was .6 when anything under 4 is negative. Does that mean he cannot have celiac disease? His biopsy report indicated damage suggestive of celiac disease. I always wonder if his diagnosis is correct since the Tissue transglutamase was negative. -

ARCHIVED Went Crazy With Gf Flours
ILOVEOMC replied to Bette's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I leave my flours in their original clear bag. I fold them down and put a clothespin on it and then store them together in a larger airtight container and put that in the frig. Then I can pull out all the flours at once. I cook with a mixture of flours and this makes it easy. Hope that helps a little. -
