  1. Ali, What I was saying is that you cant treat something until you know what you're treating. Whether you are taking prescription drugs or doing alternative's.....if you do not have a diagnosis and you dont get to the root of the problem....none of these things work. Whether its IBS, CFS, Fibro, MCS.....or some other "label"....in my opinion you still...
  2. Donna....I'll still be thinking about you on Monday. I'll be thinking "I hope Donna remembers that she does NOT have surgery today!" Then on Tuesday I will be praying that everything goes well for you.
  3. I have one thought about the call I got from the nurse...saying the doc wanted the urine test completed so we could talk about results and treatment. When we looked at the results of my previous test (the urine amino acid test) it looked like my pathway was functioning fine. All of the amino acids involved in sulfation were within normal range. At the...
  4. Castor....as long as you have hope and drive you will be OK. I'm happy that you have someone who is there for you and keeping you going. We all need that. In my opinion alot of your health problems probably began with the emotional traumas that you experienced as a child. The fear, abuse, etc.......these types of things can set us up for chronic...
  5. It doesnt sound like he's actually being treated for anything though. Painkillers are not a treatment. Plenty of people with these conditions do get better.....but not by taking drugs which are used to treat symptoms only. If the doctors he is seeing are not getting to the root of the problem.....then he's not going to feel any different. You cant...
  6. Paula, This could be due to amines, nitrates, MSG, sulfites....or a combination of everything. Donna, Hope you feel better soon and I'll definately be thinking of you on Monday. I've covered myself in the epsom salts....so much that I left a trail all over the house. I guess I racheled the salts. It...
  7. I hope it will be ok....but I'm gonna call the nurses on Monday to check on this. I dont want to wait a few weeks only to find out the sample is no good. On the form it didnt say anything about refridgerating the sample....and it mentioned that it could take 3-15 days to get to the lab...so I just assumed it would be ok. It just doesnt seem right to...
  8. Do I need to have Myspace...in order to go to Myspace?? Yup...I might be the only one left without a myspace. I wanna seeeeeeee!!!! April, Thats what I really want to do....I just want to have everything done and out of the way....and not still have test results that we're "waiting on" when I see him. I guess...
  9. Well, I'm still not getting overly excited and I'm still feeling patient....so I dont think it was a toxic food (not this time anyway ). Maybe I just have too much going on thats occupying my mind for the time being. There has been much "drama" at work lately. I think my boss is trying to kill me with stress before I can start my treatments and get...
  10. The IFA is not 100% specific for Lyme Disease...so this test alone cant confirm the disease. My results were 1:160. I live near Igenex so went and talked with the lab director a couple years ago when I got all my results in. The way he explained the IFA was that it is a "collection" of antibodies. The test has a sensitivity of 100% but it is only about 8...
  11. From what I understand the disease is everywhere (maybe not so prevelant in Alaska though)....it would be difficult to not live anywhere near it. Much progress has been made in understanding the genetic aspect to these conditions as well as some of the triggers. From where I sit....I see that miracles are already happening. As far as the question...
  12. I'm kind of confused right now and dont really know what to think after getting a phone call from one of the nurses at Dr. P.'s office today. So last time I saw him he was really wanting me to see this voodoo lady to help determine the best way to go about treatment.....and also he ordered the new labwork. The plan was to see this new doctor.....and...
  13. I dont see her yet...is she still there or is my computer just taking its time?? Maybe I'll get to see her tomorrow. I'm sure she is perfect. Carla!! I cant believe you're in Germany!! Yay....how exciting that this girl has some feeling back! I havent been to the blog yet. It seems like you just left! I was thinking it would...
  14. I have multiple chemical sensitivities so I no longer light any candles in my house. Most of the candles are gone but I still have a few that just sit there (unlit) which dont really bother me. I dont use plug-ins or anything "scented" at all because they do cause me problems if I'm exposed to them. I've improved enough that I can go by a store in the...
  15. Thanks Nora, I actually already know the meaning....I want to know how to pronounce the words. You can take any word and break it down so that its pronounced correctly.....and since I dont know any German at all....I would not even begin to know how to say them. Are these actually all one word....(like I posted) or are they seperate words? The way...
  16. Ok....I know theres at least one or two of you who knows some German. Remember the discussion about the language.....I think Carla said that it was pretty easy to learn?? Well this does NOT look easy to me. "Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung" Is this supposed to be ONE word?? I know what it means....but can someone break it down so that...
  17. I completely agree with this. Yes, you have a chronic illness...but the constant fear and worry is undoubtedly greatly exacerbating the symptoms that you have. Emotional stress is just as damaging as physical stress....what you have been going through (worries about relationships, diseases, eating out, etc) are all very real concerns....however, if you...
  18. I would be interested in reading your story when you have time to post it. You can also post in the Lyme thread (Leaky gut Forum) since there are several people there who have experience. Right now....based on your symptom list...I would say that you should ABSOLUTELY be tested for Lyme. I dont think you are jumping to conclusions.....this is something...
  19. My suggestion would be to get retested for Lyme......this time use IgeneX and if you have a good LLMD in your area I would recommend making an appt. The LLMD can properly evaluate you for Lyme and can also order these tests for you. Also with regards to the elevated methylmalonic acid.....this can be indicative of a functional B12 deficiency....meaning...
  20. Its worth a try. I do better with injections than I do with anything oral. Glutathione didnt go over very well either way though. Another thing is that along with trying to supplement the glutathione (which can help alot if shes not reacting to it)....I think it would be important to get an idea as to what is holding down the glutathione levels to begin...
  21. Last night I think I must have sweated out a gallon! I dont know what I was thinking but I decided that I would try refried beans....in a can. I only ate 1/4 of it but I knew pretty quickly that it was a mistake. I guess I kind of forgot that stuff in a can cant last for years without having something "helping" it. It seemed like a reaction...
  22. I had another thought about the foot pads. The average person sweats out about a pint....every night. Its hard to believe...but yeah...a whole pint. I would imagine that some of its coming out in the feet....naturally...even without a foot pad. So sweat contains water and toxins.....and that would be absorbed in the pad....even if the pad...
  23. Hi Rinne!! Hope you are doing well. Hey....so I got the Mercola newsletter with the article Andrea posted. It says that no toxins show up in the pads. I had to go back to LymeNet to check posts from people who use them and have had them tested. Some people have posted their results...with lots of toxins showing up. Apparantly...
  24. Andrea.....thanks for posting the foot pad article. I still have mine....unopened in the package they came in. You can send used foot pads to a lab that will test for all sorts of toxins....including metals. Scott did this...he sent one pad in that he had used....and another one that he "prentended" to use. One pad came back positive for a bunch of...
  25. Awww....hopefully your new doctor will come up with some things that will help her. I agree that the high oxalates are usually tied in with yeast. At one time I had very elevated antibodies for yeast.....but this has improved alot for me. I think for me it was primarily foods with a high phenol content that were promoting the yeast issues. I basically...
