  1. Yeah...I was at 11 It makes me wonder how high my number before I made diet changes.... I think they said ideally the number should be under 7...it *should* be closer to 0...but yeah...is that really even possible?? Hello...we're surrounded by toxins. She said she wanted me to go down to 7....so I guess if I got to where you're at right now...
  2. I saw nothing wrong with the way she presented this info. She obviously *believes* the info to be true just as much as others here *believe* that its false. She came under attack primarily because of where her information came from.....other people have posted this exact information in the past and did NOT get this kind of response. Nobody who has...
  3. Can we pleeeeease put a rest to the conspiracy theories??? Srokie may have posted inacurrate information about these products....BUT it does not make her a deceitful person who is out to get everyone on this board. If you re-read her post you will see that she clearly states that the info about the paper products came from another college student...
  4. You sound exactly like me. I have the same problem due to candida overgrowth. Candida causes leaky gut and increased allergies. Candida is probably the #1 factor in the development of leaky gut. The #1 reason for having a candida overgrowth is antibiotics....although there are many other causes including Celiac Disease. If this is your problem...
  5. I used Paragone...it was a couple years ago and it didnt give me any problems. I was very sick at the time and I actually felt somewhat better after taking the Paragone. It was the craziest thing because the day after I started on it...I expelled a huge worm-like thing. I have NO IDEA if it was a parasite or what?? It was long and white...I...
  6. Yup....I dont know too many people who would say.....we *only* lost 36 to 7!! Gotta love his attitude!
  7. If I'm reading this right....its saying that IgA antibodies to both gluten and casein (without Celiac) are a direct result of leaky gut. If the leaky gut is healed....these IgA antibodies can disappear...even with gluten and casein being included in the diet. Hmmmm....this goes completely against Enterolab's opinion that all elevated IgA antibodies...
  8. Judy, There are various tests out there for candida overgrowth...many labs offer these tests. The problem is reliability. I dont think candida is the easiest thing to determine through testing....and especially with regards to severity of the overgrowth. I can tell you from my own experience that I dont think stool tests are completely reliable...
  9. Donna, I bet I can guess who did your treatment. Yeah...I'm pretty sure that I might be "clearing" my treatments but I can pretty much *guarantee* that they arent holding. Sooooo....I think whats the point??? I think my Dr. is right that my body is too toxic and the infections are gonna keep these treatments from holding. You're not as bad off...
  10. Maddening!! (yes, we really need a bang head emoticon for moments such as these!) I'm sorry you had to go through all that Claire....especially while PMS'ing. I'm sure I would have been crying in the restroom too. DH didnt react to *any* foods! Wow...I'm like in total shock to hear that there are actually people out there who can eat whatever...
  11. The difference is that IgeniX Western Blots are the most sensitive you can get. Even though other labs such as Quest do Western Blots they arent nearly as sensitive. IgeniX is a specialty lab...they specialize in tick-borne diseases and they have improved methods of testing for Lyme. Alot of people will repeatedly test negative in other labs and then...
  12. I'm thinking since its the oral powder we're talking about....its just plain nystatin...there shouldnt be added stuff in the Nystatin I got previously. Thats why I'm thinking its the same stuff. The tablets and liquid suspension are probably a different story.
  13. Carla....they actually arent charging more for the Nystatin. I've seen the price for the stuff I was getting at the regular pharmacy and it was just as high. The difference is that my co-pay is higher for the compounded stuff and I have to pay full price and then deal with insurance to get reimbursed. If its the same exact stuff why should I pay...
  14. I'm not going.
  15. Too funny! Yeah....you're in charge of litter. We have a couple of bums in Rachelville so they'll probably keep you on your toes! But yeah....excellent idea....Rachelville shouldnt have litter....its a "pristine" environment. OMG...besides reacting to all foods on the planet....we have even MORE in common!! JT Snow was favorite...
  16. Yes....what the researchers are saying is that candida can cause the same immune response in a person with Celiac as gluten does. The "yeasty" foods arent actually going to cause damage....they will feed the yeast. If you have an overgrowth and continue to eat foods that feed the yeast....its alot like throwing fuel onto an already burning fire. The...
  17. Thanks, I know that thread isnt easy to keep up with. I thought this research was particularly interesting and might apply to alot of people who continue to have symptoms....which is why I posted it seperate from the OMG thread.
  18. Yeah... Open Original Shared Link This is where I found what I quoted in my first post Open Original Shared Link I didnt see this earlier but the same info is actually on this site... https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=859
  19. I never got completely better after eliminating gluten. Unfortunately, alot of us are in the same boat with regards to ongoing symptoms, leaky gut, increased food intolerances and so on. It seems obvious to me that there are underlying issues involved when we do not recover following a strict gluten free diet. If symptoms persist after removal of gluten...
  20. Hey Peace....I guess you're now "formally" a resident! Yeah....in Rachelville you get to pick your job.....whatever you wanna be...its yours. Oh....and in Rachelville we're not really sick. We get to eat whatever we want....'cept gluten of course. We grow everything ourselves so we dont worry about pesticides or antibiotics in our dairy products...
  21. Another thought. You say you are now even more gassy after going gluten-free?? Are you eating alot of corn products?? After eliminating gluten we tend to rely heavily on corn....which happens to be the the grain which has the highest amount of fungi and mold and will most certainly worsen a candida yeast problem....this would lead to more gas.
  22. Mold sensitivity can most definately lead to bloating and gasses! If you were exposed to mold for some time it would have weakened your immune system and very likely may have lead to a candida overgrowth. Bloating, gas, gluten intolerance as well as other food intolerance, fatigue, brain-fog....they can all be caused by a yeast overgrowth. Exposure to...
  23. Sandy, I dont know what I would do if I couldnt access this site. Glad that you got the problem fixed and we're glad to see you back here. Sorry about all that you've been going through....I guess when it rains it pours. I hope the Dr.s can figure out whats going on with Kathryn and I'm very sorry about the loss of your MIL.
  24. Thanks for saving some space for me! I'm sure I'll be joining you guys on the Herx boat very soon. I havent got my nystatin yet...it sucks going through compounding pharmacy. First, they dont deal with insurance so I gotta pay up front...and the freakin stuff is EXPENSIVE. Then I gotta fill out the paperwork (well ok....my mom does this part)...
  25. Yeah....maybe it would be appropriate for her! I've always been a hand-mouth type person too. I put everything into my mouth. I never gave germs much thought and I dont think I ever washed my hands before eating until the past few years. I never got sick though. My whole life I've not been one to ctach colds or anything else. I'm sure I had...
