  1. Yup its true. My Dr. told me that more people get sick after the holidays than any other time of year. Its because they wear themselves out with the preparations, shopping, cooking.....all of the stress that we go through getting ready for the holidays. When its over our immune system is run down...and we get sick. Stress is proven to cause illness of all...
  2. Stress, stress, stress.....it can make *anything* worse. Stress affects me everywhere....starting with my stomach. The immune system is extremely vulnerable to stress so it makes perfect sense that if you've been glutened at the same time you're dealing with stress...the reaction will hit you harder. It most likely would be that much harder to...
  3. Poor little fishies. I could see you wanting to save them from the evil gluten....without making yourself look totally psycho amongst all the gluten-eaters. Yeah...some people just dont "get it"......throwing poison at innocent fish. I'm guessing the fish were eating the bread?? Stupid addicting gluten.
  4. Thanks Michelle, my fridge is pretty new...its got one of those water/ice things on the door and some kind of cylindar thing on the bottom of the fridge. I guess its supossed to be changed or something...I've never done it and it drips water occassionally. The tray seems to be attached to the fridge...so I cant move it. I took off the panel thing on...
  5. I still see "gluteny" batfish??? By the way....Meredith...is that a piece of bread floating near the fish?? Were the fish eating it....is that why they were gluteny??
  6. LMAO!! Bev, I love that!! They could sing "Bad Fungi....that Funky Fungi" all throughout Rachelville!! I think we could also use the truffle hunting pigs.....and yeah....we'll sell the funky fungi to the people who like that sort of thing. Are there really people out there who like fungi??
  7. Ok...I have a mold question now. I've read that mold collects in drip-trays under refidgerators. I tried to look under my fridge but I saw no removable tray....is it suppossed to be removeable?? I did see some type of tray and it did look to have some mold.....but no way I could reach it or clean it.....I couldnt even see it w/out a flashlight...
  8. As Michelle said....you need to use bleach. If you had no issues at all while you were away then I would guess that you are healthy when away from the mold. Yes, mold in your environment can bring on symptoms fast. It also has the tendancy to weaken immunity....making you susceptible to other problems. If you dont start feeling better soon...its...
  9. I think regardless of where she goes to school.....she's still a young girl who was very sick. I think right now she's in the frame of mind of "WOW....my Dr. is a GENIUS" She's absolutely thrilled to be back on the road of good health...thinks the world of the woman who put her on that path...and feels like she wants to share that with everyone. Since all...
  10. Ok...to answer a previous post about MSG Here is one list of foods/companies with MSG in them Hamburger Helper Microwave Singles
  11. LOL!! Yeah...the "yeasties" snuck in while we were busy protecting ourselves from ants and stuff. Candida is definately not welcome here...Rachelville must be fungi-free!! Apparantly gluten-free wasnt enough....we must be fungi-free as well! Sheeeeesh...is there no end to the perils we deal with? I wonder what type of creature would...
  12. LMAO!! Yeah...I must have a sick mind too cuz that was HILARIOUS!! OMG...how many times did he say that she was burnt, charred, dried up, burning to death amongst piteous screams! WOAH! We would never read something like that now! Totally Nancy Grace in her previous life!
  13. Yeah....it can cause stomach aches, diarreah and other symptoms. It totally gluten-free but still not good for us.
  14. I spent a couple months early last year obssesively researching MSG....mainly because I was doing alot of elimination diets trying to determine why I was still reacting to everything. I learned alot about how to locate it in ingredients...when its not listed as monosodium glutamate. I learned about the labeling laws regarding MSG and things like that...
  15. Exactly...this is what I saw as well....a very excited 20 year old. I gathered from her posts that she was very very sick until this doctor helped her. I think that would definately lead to a great deal of exhuberance and faith in the doctor. I'm not even 20 years old but I can tell you this....when I found new Dr.'s who understood how to treat me.....
  16. The point I'm trying to make is that companies are NOT above deception. The law is NEW....I think its not far fetched to assume that some companies are not following the law to a "T". C'mon....people break the law everyday. Until someone gets caught...rules get broken. My personal opinion is that these products are likely gluten-free.....BUT....I still...
  17. I havent seen you or anyone else come under attack in the same rude and unwelcoming manner that Srokie was. She started 3 topics and was insulted and attacked in every one of them. I dont think shes walking away with her tail between her legs. I think shes fed up....plain and simple....and I dont blame her.
  18. The point is...if I *know* there to be msg in a Kraft product and then call them to ask if indeed there is msg in the product....they will say NO....because it is not listed in the ingredients. It is processed into *other* ingredients. Therefore they get around the labeling law and they will NOT disclose the information. So why should I believe that if...
  19. True...but if I were to post a topic right now asking if anyone's had any problems with Planters peanuts....there *are* going to be people saying that they have. These threads have come up in the past...so I know that some people *do* react to them. Of course it doesnt mean the nuts are dusted with flour...it could be a completely seperate issue. The point...
  20. Are you saying that the info. would carry more weight had her doctor been a physician....rather than a Doctor of Divinity??? Who really cares....maybe her "doctor of divinity" knows someone on the inside?? Maybe someone working for Kraft told her that they dust the nuts with flour?? What does her title have anything to do with the accuracy of her information...
  21. She provided you with that information when she named her sources. She offered up her Doctors phone number...what more do you need?? She presented the information as it was told to her....by two fellow Celiacs....you have every right to either believe it or to ignore it. So if you dont believe what shes saying.....what are you really accomplishing by attacking...
  22. Well said Karen...I'm disappointed too.
  23. If you review the thread there is NOTHING in her presentation to indicate the she felt she was better than anyone else or that what she was saying was the undeniable truth. She was simply relaying information that she had heard.....as soooo many others have in the past. Nothing was stated as FACT....until post #8....when things went into a different...
  24. Yup....and to add to that list cantaloupes and other fruits have a high mold content. Like Michelle said....you dont have to *see* mold in order for it to be a problem. I always get suspicious of mold when people say they improve away from home and are sick again once they return.
  25. I dont know how often you drink coffee...or ifts its caffeinated...but caffeine and alcohol are both major gut irritants and contributers to leaky gut. Water is the best choice. I would recommend avoiding the foods I mentioned for a couple weeks and see if you notice a difference. It looked like you were eating alot of fruit...which could really be...
