ARCHIVED Amy's Kitchen
Rachel--24 replied to Rebecca47's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Me too! I have really bad problems after eating Amy's stuff. I kind of figured I was reacting to something else since I'm sensitive to alot of things....but with Amy's its real bad. It seems like more and more people are reacting to their products so now I have to wonder... Was I actually getting glutened?? -

Claire....forgot to mention....the C.Diff toxin showed up in a stool test about ayear ago. In my initial BioSET testing....I'm not sure if it showed up or not. It shows a few bacteria on the report....one is Clostridum but I cant say for sure whether its Clostridium Difficile. Anways these are common and not harmful unless they are allowed to become so... -

I dont think you can get rid of C.Diff....since most people have some anyway. After taking Flagyl I was retested and came back negative. Anyway....it wasnt causing any of my symptoms....nothing changed after treating it. I dont think it was at a point of being problematic. I did not have diarreah....which is the #1 symptom from C. Diff. I was kind... -

Alison, I never had any discomfort...digestive or anywhere else prior to getting sick. I never even knew when my period was coming...no warning signs....no obvious hormonol changes...nada. Those were the good old days. <sigh> Once I got sick....OMG....totally different story. Periods turned into the biggest heinosity ever. Its not... -

Claire, Have you visited the C.Diff message board?? I was posting there about a year ago when I first came back positive in my stool test. They dont let you ask alot of questions though...which kind of sucks. I was getting some input about my situation but they locked up my topic after it got past 2 or 3 pages. Anyways you can read up on C.Diff... -

Lauralee, YES! I dont have Celiac but the first 2 years I was sick I had major PMS every month. I was in bad shape anyways but that time of the month was sooo much worse. I would get severe depression and all of my other symptopms intensified as well. I had never experienced pms until I got sick. Ever since changing my diet it hasnt happened again... -

I think increased reactions to different things....including metals....might have something to do with toxicity levels in the body. I know that I've gotten increasingly sensitive over the years. As a teenager I started reacting to the "fake" stuff and can only wear 14 kt. gold since then. I could handle wearing certain bracelets or anklets but over... -

Carla...I've always said if I could help just one person restore their health from sharing my own experience...it would all be worthwhile. I spent alot of time on the candida boards and a thyroid board informing people of Celiac and gluten intolerance down to every last detail. It took alot of time because...as you know...sometimes my posts are kind of long... -

Scott, I actually dont think Mango was referring to you when she made this comment. I think its pretty "well-known" that other board members have a perception that this thread is just a "clique".....that we just come here to "hang-out" and that nothing productive occurs here. Of course this is not the case...but then one wouldnt know that if one didnt... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Disease, Gluten Ataxia And Candida
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Gayle....feel free. I dont post there....but I'm an avid reader. Ummm...I think I'm the only one guilty of doing this...much to my Dr.'s dismay. Thanks for all of this info. I was actually aggressively treating candida (diet/antifungal) about a year and a half ago. I got ALOT better but I realized that there was more to it and eventually... -

Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi...its not a silly question. Its actually a thread on this board titled "OMG...I might be on to something.....When the gluten-free diet isnt enough". Its located in the "Other Food Intolerance and Leaky Gut" forum. Its just a thread where we've had discussions about this topic and many others. -

Good for you!! This is what I'm doing right now as well. I'm taking Nystatin and LOTS of raw garlic. Everything I've read indicates that garlic is a highly effective antifungal. Its worked for me in the past and it gives me some symptoms of die-off which is actually stronger than the response I get from Nystatin. I'm also back on the diet. No... -

Rachel--24 replied to Amica's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Amica, I will try to answer some of these questions as best I can. This isnt entirely true. Many times people come back with positive IgG only and they are not IgA deficient. Some people have elevated IgG and are not Celiac.....but reacting to gluten nonetheless. Sometimes they are both positive..and sometimes only one is positive. Some... -

Barb, I can totally understand your questioning things....especially if you dont have good support around you. This board is my support...everyone here understands. Positive bloodwork and biopsy = Celiac Disease. You do not need to question a diagnosis based on these results. Not everyone gets pain after they eat gluten but if the biopsy was... -

Michelle.....I could be wrong (dont have the best memory) but did you have a problem with candida awhile back?? If so you might find that link that Mango posted interesting. I dont have celiac genes and I dont have villous atrophy but suffer from severe leaky gut....even after gluten and dairy free. Eventually I ruled dairy out as a cause because I found... -

Rachel--24 replied to bknutson's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Barb, If you tested positive for Celiac...its no game. You gotta play by the rules or risk your health by playing Russian Roulette. If the Dr. just *looked* at you and diagnosed you with Celiac...well then that would raise questions. If tests were run and this is what you've been diagnosed with...even though it may not be easy....it is what it is. ... -

Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Alison, I think this is exactly true. Unfortunately, for alot of us its exactly the way the Dr. describes it....as layers of an onion....all needing to be be unpeeled until you truelly get *all* of the answers and regain your health. Its alot of work and these things truelly are intertwined....each affecting the other. I dont think any of us knew... -
How LUCKY are you???!!! That is VERY cool Molly...I'm glad you had so much fun....meeting everyone and getting autographs. I heard something about Bonds possibly not coming back?? Have you heard anything like this?? Thanks Molly...I'll keep my eye out for Billy. What position does he play??

I'm not too sure why this is now "The Lyme Disease Thread".....it wasnt my idea....and I dont think its a fitting title. I dont know.....what do you guys think?? Is this the lyme disease thread?? How would you describe the topic or what do you think an appropriate title would be. I think the way it stand now is kind of misleading but then again... -

Andrea....its totally true...mercury is highly toxic to the body and can cause disease. Donna, I have more problems on my left side too...this happens to be the side that I had the tooth that was bothering me after they put in the crowns...the one where I could feel gases coming out...I had a root canal which didnt help anything and I still had problems... -

There is Carla.....who had positive Western Blots. Me...who is not 100% convinced....my only positive test (IFA) is just 82% specific for Lyme...WB's were equivocal. Miamia....who has had a positive test and nearly positive WB's....but is still having further testing done. Rinne....who hasnt been on the board for awhile. I think thats all I'm aware...
