Donna, I'm thinking I may have had some fungal problems for a long time before I really got sick....like Anna said. She said the circumstances of mercury, stress, radiation, antibiotics...all happenning at once could have just allowed the fungi to totally proliferate. Both Candida and Aspergillus are highly opportunistic. It would not be surprising... -

I had a bad day today. I had to go to that meeting for work.....there was two people from each store that had to go. I was totally in a good mood and happy to see some friends from other stores. Noone was wearing anything that was bothersome to me....and then the guy from my own store showed up. Hes the only person in my store who wears a ton... -

Claire...so true. I love that line about making lemonade. I dont know how I would deal if I didnt see the positive things to come out of this. There actually has been alot of positive changes in my life due to this illness...mostly changes within myself....I look at life differently and am more appreciative and compassionate . I definately wasnt... -

I tried to find out about Aspergillus infection.....I dont know if it fits for me though. I'm sensitive to all molds so its probably more likely because of leaky gut. I'm still gonna take the test but I'm thinking my immune system is probably fighting all molds so would likely come back high. I'm not sure if treating it would help in this situation... -

Ok...I think we are really getting somewhere with my BioSET sessions!! Check this out... Tonight Anna wanted to check the virus panel...to see if anything was cross reacting with HHV-6 or what other virus I might have. I did not react to anything in the panel! YAY....I think its a first for me. She said we can pretty much rule the whole... -

Claire, I've eaten ghee and had some really really bad reactions to it....WAY worse than what butter does. This was quite awhile ago...before this thread even. I went casein free since gluten-free didnt solve all my problems and thats why I was trying ghee....because it was labeled casein free. I kept trying to figure out if there was some casein... -
ARCHIVED Another Idiot Doctor
Rachel--24 replied to GlutenWrangler's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I hate to say it (and this might be a first for me)....but I actually agree with your Dr. He clearly doesnt believe the test has any validity....so why should he go against his belief and order it for you?? I had the test...I paid about $350 out of pocket and the results didnt tell me anything. Elimination diet is the best way to go. I dont believe... -

Cashew cheese??? I never heard of such a thing. Andrea, I didnt eat cashews or peanuts. I wouldnt test those....they are the moldiest nuts. Peanuts are the worst of all nuts..because they're pretty much always contaminated with alflatoxin. I ate Brazil, almond, hazelnut, pecan and walnut.....but I wont do it again. -

Miamia, Its only one kind of soymilk....Edensoy Organic Unsweetened. I cant have any other box milk. They all have carrageenan, oils, enriched with vitamins, sweetened with stuff, etc. I think I cant have anything enriched because of the B-Vitamins being yeast derived. This one only has reverse osmosis water and organic soybeans. I noticed Trader... -
ROFL!! Sandy, I LOVE those jokes!! OMG...everything on that list is so true for me! I say all of those things....and they mean just that! Too funny. I'm glad you got her in!! I hope everything goes well....keep us posted.

ARCHIVED Food Coloring In Frozen Salmon
Rachel--24 replied to Yenni's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Most salmon that you would buy in the grocery store is farmed and has "added color". By law this has to be lableled. I work in a grocery store....all of the fresh salmon has stickers on the package stating that color has been added. The dyes are unhealthy....not to mention the antibiotics and "who knows what else" in the farmed stuff. I would only... -
ARCHIVED Thinking Of Testing At Enterolab?
Rachel--24 replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm pretty sure they've always had that same deal. It was there when I was tested in 2005 and as far as I know its remained since. -
ARCHIVED Mozart And The Whale
Rachel--24 replied to 2kids4me's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Sandy, You may not be able to change this way of thinking...some people just never "get it". Its unfortunate. It sounds to me like your daughter couldnt have a better mommy though. You understand her and you know what she needs and you know how to make her feel safe and loved. It may not be so easy to convince everyone else that this is what... -

Thanks for all your explanations Sandy. I dont know why people would ignore this after having it explained to them ....is it possible they forget because it just comes natural for them to be "touchy"?? Maybe they need to be reminded. -
ARCHIVED I'm Not Convinced Celiac Is My Problem?
Rachel--24 replied to vbecton's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
In the end none of the tests are a perfect science. If they were 100% reliable there would be no reason to question them....and we would all have a definate answer. Many things can skew results...such as IgA deficiency, not enough gluten in diet, etc. The biopsy is clearly not a reliable method of testing. Positive IgG or IgA alone can be due to... -
ARCHIVED I'm Not Convinced Celiac Is My Problem?
Rachel--24 replied to vbecton's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I just want to clarify that nowhere in my posts did I say anything about the biopsy being "gold standard" or necessary for diagnosis. In fact I do not believe the biopsy is of any value...unless it comes back positive. I think its outdated, certainly not the "gold standard" it was once thought to be, and misses most cases of Celiac. I also realize... -

Yeah plain is best. To tell you the truth...I havent bought anything "flavored" in so long....to me plain is a flavor! It tastes good to me! I have some alcohol free organic vanilla flavor. When I want a little vanilla flavor I sometimes add it to stuff.....like my soymilk. I've now added nuts into my diet. I cant have nut butters and... -

Sorry you lost the eggs Laura...its only been a week for me...you never know what could happen. I might just end up "deeding" them back to you. I've been eating oats for about a week now too....I dont seem to be having problems with them. Yay for that. Of course they could still be feeding candida ...but I'm thinking not so much as the ice cream... -
ARCHIVED Thyroid Help Anti Tpo Is 757
Rachel--24 replied to CatandCanary's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I see that you have Kaiser. I had Kaiser during my first 3 years of illness. I had no trouble getting Armour from my Endo....however....I only got worse under their care. The main reason....they specialize in disease. They do not care about the cause of disease....nor do they look for the cause. They treated my thyroid and that was about it.... -
ARCHIVED Thyroid Help Anti Tpo Is 757
Rachel--24 replied to CatandCanary's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Cat, I'm sorry you're going through all this. I have experience with autoimmune thyroid disease. It was the opposite of Hashi's....I had Graves Disease...nevertheless my immune system was attacking my thyroid....causing it to produce too much hormone. You are asking why you're antibodies are so high?? That is an extremely difficult question... -

I think even NT's can have aversions to touching or giving/getting hugs. Some people just dont feel comfortable with it...I know some people who are like this and then there are others who are more touchy/feely type people naturally. I probably wouldnt like it too much if a stranger touched my face either. I sometimes dont like it when customers at... -
ARCHIVED Another Blood Test
Rachel--24 replied to nephlim's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The gene test is helpful but I wouldnt say its the most definative test. For one thing there is a small percentage of biopsy proven Celiacs who do NOT carry either of these genes. There are other genes involved....which have yet to be determined. Also a great deal of the population carries these genes and does not ever develop Celiac. The gene test...
