  1. DUH Would that be the BIG store you can see from the parking lot with HUGE letters spelling out KOHLS??? Stupid brainfog. I dont really shop at that mall...I always go to Valley Fair.....I get lost in there though. Ever since they expanded VF I'm like a lost tourist. Also...no matter what day...or what time I go....I always have to...
  2. Well at least I know I'm not breaking any laws! I'm a law-abiding citizen.
  3. My favorite store is Abercrombie and Fitch. I went on a pretty big shopping spree a couple weeks ago....I had a gift certificate which should have been plenty enough.....but noooo....I spent WAY more. Oh well...I LOVE the clothes I got...but especially a white puffy jacket with a fur hood that I've wanted for 2 years now. Its usually $200 and it just...
  4. Patti and Donna.....YAY for shopping and CUTE clothes!!!! I've never been to Kohl's....Donna, where is it?? I'll have to check it out. Patti.....I hope you'll be getting back into your jeans very soon and also when you feel better you should get lots of new spring/summer clothes.....cuz of course you DESERVE it.
  5. Oh.....during the brain testing at my last appt....the bar was hardly going up....we watched it and very slowly it got up to 30. Susan said "Well...its holding....as long as it doesnt "slip" thats all we care about." So I guess its ok as long as the bar doesnt start going down......that was my understanding. I'm gonna ask Anna to explain that part.....
  6. Donna, when I first started going to BioSET and had all of my first treatments (for the pathways and other things) my energy was always good when I got there and still good when they would do the "brain testing" (to see if you can handle the treatment). When I did the mold/yeast panels my energy went way down. It was fine when I got there and then with...
  7. Yeah...I'm paranoid about stuff getting overlooked. Maybe if you have no problems with the first tray you dont need to continue. Probably the other tray or trays that I did were co-infections. Yeah...she goes alot slower than Anna does and explains everything as she goes. The other lady is like this too except she has more knowledge about...
  8. No....enzymes arent going to stop an immune reaction to gluten. If you have leaky gut (do you have problems with lots of food?) and gluten is leaking into your bloodstream causing your immune system to attack...an enzymes is not going to solve the problem. You can still get the same symptoms from gluten intolerance...even if its not Celiac. Half of the...
  9. Donna....its a good question...I dont really know but my *guess* is that it would still show up in BioSET. When I was worried about getting a "false" negative from BioSET (since he was wanting this test for confirmation after Igenix) he told me that BioSET is overly sensitive. It will pick up everything that is there but it will also pick up stuff thats not...

    ARCHIVED Scary Doctor

Did she gain weight while being off gluten for 7 months?? The reason I ask is because if there was no improvement to her *primary* symptoms there could be an underlying issue. Underlying issues can actually lead to a gluten intolerance (that is not Celiac) and hence, additional symptoms when gluten is consumed. Kids are generally quick to heal...if...
  11. Definately....its a common occurrance on all health boards. Thyroid disscussions are very common on this board as well as every other board I've been on. Candida is discussed on this board quite frequently as well as every other board I've been on. I think that Lyme is not acceptable here because there is no study *proving* a link to Celiac. Heck.....
  12. No...leaky gut cant be seen during the endoscopy. There is a specific test for it (a urine test) but it cant be *seen* in any type of testing. If you have multiple food intolerances....then leaky gut is pretty much a guarantee. I've never been tested for this because in my case its fairly obvious...no Dr. has even suggested testing for it since I have...
  13. Carla...good luck with that! Exactly!! I sent admin a very long pm....stating all of my feelings about this. (you think some of my posts are long! ) The fact is that *most* of the people coming to this board are in search of answers and DO NOT have a diagnosis of Celiac or anything else. Not everyone posting here actually has Celiac....in...
  14. Thanks for that link Mango!! I had wondered if this was actually the real reason for my reaction to soy. I bet it is. I think my body reacts so violently to MSG because its such a potent nuerotoxin and its entering my bloodstream via the leaky gut...not a good thing.
  15. Mango...me too! Carageenan does very bad things to me. Its actually one of those "hidden" MSG ingredients. Carageenan = MSG. Peace, I agree with what everyone is saying....listen to your body. I cant do soy at all....I even tried one brand of soymilk that was basically just organic soy and water....and about half way through the carton I started...
  16. Great news Carla!! I cant wait to get more details. Awesome that the Dr. realizes how Celiac symptoms overlap with Lyme. Probably about half of this board is negative for celiac and still having symtpoms after going gluten-free. It goes back to this quote from a previous post. I think *most* people would want to have this information...
  17. If the Flagyl intensified your pain I would bet money you were having a Herx reaction. I dont necessarily think its the yeast moving into the muscles that is causing the pain in Fibro. Remember, if there is a yeast overgrowth there is an underlying cause. A healthy immune system would not allow yeast to get out of hand. To get rid of yeast its essential...
  18. NoGluGirl, Have you been gene tested to see if you're susceptible to Celiac?? It seems likely since you're Irish...but a gene test could answer that question for sure.
  19. I think its extremely rare for casein to cause villi damage and I've never heard seen anything about soy causing villi damage. If you have leaky gut the other food intolerances (and this goes for any food) can cause imflammation to the intestinal lining....which will keep it from healing which in turn can lead to even more food intolerance.. This is not...
  20. So I asked Anna (my BioSET lady) if its weird that my IgG was totally normal for candida and my IgM was through the roof?? She said its not necessarily "weird"....it could be that the IgG immune response hasnt kicked in yet. She said it could be a good sign....in that the immune system isnt showing signs of long-term infection. I dont think so...
  21. Nikki....thanks for the link So they would rather have something that cant be treated?? Yeah!! I really like this guy.
  22. What is myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), I dont think I ever heard of it before?? I just started reading Nikki's link.
  23. Alison...I just saw your fibro thread. Dang...how did I miss that one?? Was your friend in pain management open to this?? I wonder if Fibro is a result of leaky gut....with gluten being the most problematic food passing through?? I tested myself a long time ago and I had most of the tender spots.....enough to be diagnosed. I would check...
  24. I forgot to share about my thyroid panel at BioSET last week. Basically I flunked....again. I was weak with almost everything in the panel. It was *everything* having to do with thyroid...the hormones...the mediactions...(they even had Armour in there)....all of the things that have to do with the thyroid gland. Interestingly...the last...
  25. Alison, Someone on another thread mentioned that I should go to school. All of this stuff really fascinates me.....although I'm postive it would bore me to death had I not been put into this predicament....against my will. Anyways.....now I'm sucked into the scientificness of it all. I think the main problem with the medical community is that...
