Thanks for the confirmation. We're just easily "frazzled" I guess....small changes cause BIG stress for the toxic ones. -

I've been thinking the past couple weeks about getting a new Dr. (yeah...cuz I dont have enough for a whole softball team yet ). Anyways, I need someone here in my area who really likes a challenge and has the kind of dedication that Amy has. I need someone who will work with me on this...someone who is not afraid to take the lead....know what I mean... -

I dont think this is selfish at all. You've tried real hard with him. I remember all your posts about him when you first joined the board. You want him to be as healthy as he can be...and you did alot to try to help him. If he doesnt want it right now there's not much you can do....you cant force him and the stress from trying will only make your own health... -

Yup.....thats me....every single day! Thats what I'm always saying.....its like I'm "normal" in every way...except that I'm NOT normal at all! Dont know if that would make sense to a "normal" person....but I'm sure you understand exactly what I mean. I would be so freakin normal right now if I wasnt for all this toxicity. I'm so... -

How frusterating! These are the things that scare me the most about having kids! What if he had an "official" diagnosis....would it make any difference if the Dr. was telling him that if he continued to eat gluten his risk for cancer is greatly increased? My only concern is that if the GI did a biopsy and it was false negative (which happens... -

Oh yeah!! Thats it Andrea....I thought my eyes were freaking out. I was thinking the posts weren't clearly seperated but it just appears that way because I guess I got used to seeing the avatars and personal info. up there. It takes me awhile to adjust each time. -

Definately sounds like Celiac is a possibility. Since he's IgA deficient none of the IgA tests would be positive but you could have them run the Celiac Panel for IgG instead of IgA. That means that all the tests would be looking at the IgG antibodies....not just the antigliadin IgG (which is the one that was positive the first time). It would probably... -

Hi Charlie. I have no experience with Humaworm....just saying hi. As far as I know April is the only one here who tried it and had a negative reaction. -

Yes, parasites can cause anemia. Has he been tested for Celiac? I dont agree with the Dr.'s advice. I dont buy it either. -

April, I think its good that you sent the tick in. I think if it were me I would have definately sent the tick in right away....I probably would have tested every infection (for peace of mind). Personally, in the absence of a rash or symptoms I'd probably wait for the results before taking any abx. I think the results should come back fairly quickly... -

Have you been tested for candida...or is it an obvious "female" type infection?? I forget from your earlier posts. There is a link between oxalates and yeast...and some yeast/molds also produce oxalates. It seems to me that high oxalate foods can worsen the yeast situation for some people. I'm not sure which comes first but if oxalates are a problem... -

April, I dont think the tick could have been attached for a week. It may have been brought home from the mountains? I think after they feed they fall off. I could be wrong but I've never heard of a tick being attached for that long. Did you save the tick? If so it can be tested for Lyme and co-infections (not exactly cheap though). If she were infected... -
ARCHIVED Need Second Opinion?
Rachel--24 replied to CamiJ's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Personally, I dont feel that people in nursing homes are dropping like flies because they're eating "gluten loaded nutritionless glob". People die for reasons having nothing to do with gluten. Some of them are probably eating better and getting more nutrition than some younger people who are consuming processed foods (loaded with chemicals) for breakfast... -
ARCHIVED Need Second Opinion?
Rachel--24 replied to CamiJ's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It cant hurt to get a second opinion on the biopsy....I would do it just for peace of mind. Have you had the bloodwork done? If not it would also be a good idea to do that. Many people have positive bloodwork and negative biopsy...and vice versa. If you're done with the testing there's nothing stopping you from starting the diet. Definately eliminate... -

Sorry Paula...again. I meant every word of it though! Anyways, crying is very therapeutic....its good for us....it gets some of the toxins out. I think I just helped you detox a little. I should probably be doing alot more crying myself...but it just aint happening. -

Well at least you still have your sense of humor even if you dont have alot of energy. I know you can be mischievious (I'm thinking about the picture of you with the birdcage) so hopefully you're not causing your mom too much trouble. Seriously, I hope its not pre-cancerous. But if you do have to have the operation I'm hoping its the "less scary... -
ARCHIVED Pineapple Intolerance
Rachel--24 replied to newceliac's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I cant tolerate pineapple (as well as a gazillion other foods). In my case it has nothing to do with candida but an inability to process the natural chemicals. This is not uncommon and can be caused by deficiencies of certain enzymes and/or gut dysbiosis. Pineapples are very high in histamine and can cause reaction in someone who is sensitive. Reactions... -

I dont know where Dr. W. is (I didnt pay attention to that part )?? I think my friend is in Grafenwoehr....maybe....I dunno. I saw G.'s list and I didnt recognize any of the cities on the list (that is if those were actually cities and not people's names ). My friend lives in the vicinty of Bamberg, I think Heidelberg, maybe Nuernberg... -

So Great Plains said that my OAT results arent in yet. It takes around 3 weeks so I guess its been a little over that since they recieved the kit. Hopefully, I'll hear something this week. I'll be very sad if my sample got lost or something...it's been a loooong 3 weeks as it is. I got invited to go to Disneyland in October. You guys know how long... -

I totally remember having so many "episodes" exactly like that. I would just be completely out of control either in a rage or crying....like a total meltdown....and then it would just stop. That happened ALOT before I figured out most of the triggers. Those episodes would drain me...my mom would tuck me in every night and tell me everything would...
