  1. I have some experience with this. I would recommend not only a hair analysis but also a red blood cell test for elements. They are both useful for determining imbalances. A hair analysis is also very good for determining whether or not mercury is an underlying factor. It generally doesnt show up in the hair analysis (unless there is significant recent...
  2. Sorry...that thread really gets moving sometimes....we're a very determined (and chatty) bunch. I think it would be a miracle if you got done by Xmas!! I think generally the levels get re-checked about every 2 months or so. It would be too costly to run tests after each treatment....plus I think it takes awhile to build things up or brings...
  3. Ken, I think that self diagnosis and self treatment is a bad idea....I dont ever recommend it. Its really important to know what you're dealing with before embarking on something like heavy metal detox....this is something that should never be attempted w/out the help of a knowledgeable Dr. in my opinion. You *can* worsen your situation with self treatment...
  4. Thanks for the info. about the D-Mannose for UTI's. I have a friend who just had reoccuring UTI and took antibiotics. I'll have to look up the D-Mannose.
  5. Hi Vicki, I got the results of my red blood cell test. The copper was elevated which is what I'd suspected....so now I really need to bring that way down. It was the only mineral that was elevated. Copper metaolism gets really thrown off by mercury and I'm not really sure that I'm actually able to utilize the copper....most likely not. Its just...
  6. Paula, If he's having this problem it could very well be from the mold in the house. It would lead to additional sensitivities and difficulty handling everyday exposures. Its a big burden on the immune system. The only thing that helped me was avoidance. We dont use chemicals at home and noone smokes around me. I can handle stuff better outside but...
  7. LittleMissAllergy, Are you seeing an LLMD? If not I would recommend definately finding the best one in your area. You will need an LLMD to get through this. Unfortunately, Lyme can be complicated so you will need the most knowledgeable Dr. on your side....and that would be an LLMD. Lyme is multifactorial so you will need additional testing. Things...
  8. Absolultely! Smoke or any other chemical my body doesnt respond well to can cause all of that and more.
  9. Thanks Lisa. I dont think I can try it yet because I'm hoping to get back on DMPS...but I wanna see how well you do with it and also get some info. I dont know if Amy has any Zeolites with her when she tests me but if this one isnt too expensive I'd be willing to try it out later on.
  10. LOL...yeah...I thought she went to Mexico too!!
  11. Elisabet, This is what I've been working on recently. Yes...I've tried mineral supplements in the past. I havent tolerated any multi-minerals...or most of the orals I've tried. There are a couple that I test well for (magnesium and calcium) and thats all I take orally right now. I get everything tested first because pretty much everything I pick...
  12. Awesome Lisa!! Did you get it from Dr. M.? Maybe I can see if Amy can test me for it next time she comes.
  13. OK...well they are both very fitting. I want a pretend middle name too! Here it is Julie.....its a documentary thats been in the making for awhile now. Open Original Shared Link
  14. Haha....guess who else has Marie for a middle name. Rachel Marie...I think I'm older so I had it first!!
  15. Me too Julie...I'll be crossing my fingers and my toes.
  16. Middle names?? Donna Joy? That is just so adorable! It goes with the smiley face. Donna, I actually cracked a rib from coughing once. It was a long time ago...in my early 20's. I had this cough that was pretty bad...then my chest started hurting really bad and it hurt to breathe, sleep, move....you know...all those things we kinda NEED to...
  17. haha....NEVER!! Donna....dont even try it. I talked way too much yesterday and before bed my throat was killing me. It felt totally raw and I couldnt swallow without alot of pain. I rested my voice more today so its not quite so bad.
  18. Arsenic?? I definately dont want anymore of that. The arsenic showed up in all my urine tests as well as the red blood cell test I just had done. Yeah...you definately dont wanna rachel selenium. I think it can become pretty toxic if it gets high. I think it can also move mercury to the brain. Are you tolerating supplements pretty well these...
  19. I stayed home from work again...seems like I'm almost back to normal except for my voice. I was talking fine but then I end up on the phone for hours and my voice starts going again. I think tomorrow I should be mostly over it and back at work.
  20. No...I have them but I dont plan on trying them in the near future. I'm gonna work on one thing at a time so for now I just wanna get my copper levels down and some of my other minerals up. My copper/zinc ratio is not good.
  21. No problem. I did have my thyroid meds compounded for awhile back then...but I dont really have a problem with corn so thats not really an issue now. It was costing too much money to continue getting them compounded and it didnt make any difference as far as my health problems....so now I just take the regular stuff.
  22. I'm already taking some but its a cheap brand with additional ingredients. I do well with the clean hypoallergenic stuff but I was impatient and just wanted to start taking some now. I gotta look for some online. OMG Rinne...thats awesome!! You've accomplished soooo much in the past year! I wish you all the luck with your new restaurant...
  23. Yeah...I'm not surprised about the copper at all. I dont really want to try to use supplements to bring it down because I think my mineral transport is all messed up anyway. The DMPS seemed to work really well....and I think thats why I started to feel better after the first few treatments. I've read that a person with mercury toxicity should avoid supplementing...
  24. I got the results of my bloodwork today. So the only mineral that was elevated was copper. Everything else was going in the opposite direction but not all were deficient. Actually only one was severely deficient (in the red). That was selenium. Not good. Selenium is probably the most important mineral for detoxing mercury....studies show...
  25. Well...sometimes I can put things off FOREVER if I'm not too fond of the task. In those cases I think I tell myself sleep and rest are certainly more important than stuff like traveling 50 ft. to the mailbox. If its something I REALLY want to do....I find that energy just "appears" out of nowhere. Today I'm home sick with some throat...
