  1. The diet is necessary for keeping the yeast under control. However, if the situation is chronic the problem is not likely to resolve with diet/antifungal treatment alone. Yeast doesnt overgrow w/out cause. If it persists there is a reason that its happening....something is allowing for it to thrive (something other than sugar). Obviously sugar fuels it...
  2. Personally, I think its probably best to work on the underlying cause and keep him on the diet (gluten-free/cf) for now. I have all of the enzymes mentioned in my last post but I'm not able to indulge in all the foods without having problems. For me the phenol problem is worse...so even if I'm digesting the gluten and dairy with the help of the enzymes...
  3. I think that might be the xanthine oxidase enzyme which was mentioned in the second quote of my last post.
  4. The mold situation sounds pretty bad from what I read on your previous thread. When you start reacting to a variety of things it usually means that your toxic burden is high. One way to explain it would be to picture yourself having a bucket inside of you...every toxin you encounter goes into the bucket...the bucket never gets full as long as your system...
  5. April....its dipeptyl peptidase (DPPIV)...the enzyme required for the digestion of gluten and casein.
  6. Once you get past the cravings its not all that bad...but once you indulge...you gotta go through the whole process all over again. It sucks. I was strict for 4 months...not even a pinch of the stuff....no carbs either. That was almost 3 years ago. Since then I havent been so strict. I eat sugar....I just try not to go crazy with it. Theres alot of...
  7. Damn! Thats it?? Lisa...there must be another answer. This one is not good....I'm seriously lacking in this area right now!!
  8. This is actually not true. Even with Celiac damage can be showing up long before symptoms appear....many people are asymptomatic. I have DQ1 myself...and I was half dying (at least it felt that way to me) but no damage was showing up. None whatsoever. Although I did test positive with Enterolab it wasnt actually gluten that was causing my problems......
  9. Yup...and I went out dancing that night too. At least I dont need to shell out the $$ for drinks when I got my own brewery going on inside....my buzz is FREE. I think my enzyme which renders the yeast by-products (alcohol) harmless...is not functioning. I think this stuff is pretty potent when you cant get rid of it.
  10. This was the hardest thing for me to deal with. I only had mainstream Dr.'s for the first 3 years....and I was sooo sick. I was not functioning and was on disability for most of that time. They couldnt find ANYTHING wrong....so yes...the only POSSIBLE explanation was that I needed to see a physchiatrist for depression. Besides being a "hypochondriach" I was...
  11. No..I'm not on the spectrum. I was "normal" until age 31. I have mercury toxicity...which isnt any different from what the kids on the spectrum are dealing with. The only real significant difference is that I'm an adult and I'm not affected in the same way because I'm not in the early stages of development. I don't actually get a high from opiates in...
  12. Yes, its my understanding that the multiple food intolerances are a whole different issue altogether. The only thing causing damage in Celiac is gluten...once thats removed healing should begin. If there are multiple food intolerances I think that this is related to toxicity and the damage that it does do to gut ecology. Mercury is a huge factor in this....
  13. Too funny Mia. I actually cant remember if I've ever had them...or if they did the trick. Yup...the cognitive problems must have wiped this from my memory completely. If I ever had them....I'm sure they were yummy.
  14. Chronic mold exposure can have significant impact on health....celiac or not. Its a huge burden on the immune system and when the immune system is compromised anything is a possibilty. Also, if the body is burdened by mold toxins it becomes more difficult to deal with additional environmental toxins. Toxins can accumulate and detoxification can become...
  15. I would start with a mineral check...both hair and blood should give you some good clues. Hair analysis can give you good ideas about mercury because even though it doesnt usually appear in the hair (unless there is recent exposure) if the essential minerals are all over the place its very indicative of mercury toxicity. If you have high calcium for example...
  16. I've seen a few different recipes for the cream but they all contained oils I react to....like coconut. I could probably find something that would work but I'm pretty lazy about stuff like this. It seemed complicated to me so I went ahead and ordered the cream. Before I used it I had my Dr. test it for me. She tests everything using ART (autonomic response...
  17. With all of these factors it does seem likely that mercury is at the root of health issues for both of you. The thing about it is that its not a hopeless situation....this is something thats treatable. I dont know your dd's age or whether or not shes on the spectrum (I dont remember her symptoms from past threads) but alot of children do very well...
  18. A couple reasons I'm aware of as far as craving chocolate is a magnesium deficiency or a copper deficiency. I dont know how the enzyme would fit in with that?? I suppose if its increasing blood flow by addressing any hypercoagulation issues this would allow nutrients to be delivered more efficiently. I do know that hypercoagulation can cause problems with...
  19. One test that I've not yet had is a porphyrin urine test. I've been looking at this recently...trying to decide if I want to have it done. It might not be useful for me at all since its fairly obvious that I'm toxic....and I'm already being treated for the metals. However, it might be worth looking into for you or anyone else that might be interested...
  20. Yes...I take epsom salt baths regularly, I take No-Fenol enzymes and I restrict high phenol foods. As far as I know those are the main things which can help lighten the load on the PST. Additionally I'm trying to get to the root of the problem because this was obviously an aquired problem and not one that I was born with. I also have Kirkmans magesium...
  21. I believe that its a sulfate deficiency which is inhibiting the PST enzyme....however I cant know this for certain as of right now. My Dr. did say that my body *may* have been struggling with phenols without any obvious symptoms...and eventually with increased mercury exposure and other factors the burden became too great. It may have been a problem that...
  22. Hi Vicky, Is your sister back on the Serralone?? If so have her symptoms improved again? I got the Serralone and tried it early last week. My experience wasnt good. Unfortunately, I reacted to it immediately. This is the case with so many supplements....I believe because my system is not capable of handling most things right now....just too...
  23. Kassandra, I'm coming in late with my input about the antidepressants. Just wanted to say that if they dont resolve your depression I probably would recommend stopping and trying some other things. I was definately anti AD's....I didnt feel like they would help "fix" me....but I was also VERY depressed and really needing some help. I finally...
  24. We love you too sweet Mia. I'm glad you still find comfort and support here even when you're not feeling up to posting.
  25. Yeah...and how completely WRONG is it that I have to wake up with a hangover because I ate cake!! OMG....I used to be able to go out and get DRUNK and not wake up with a hangover. Now I cant even have a drink and I get a freakin hangover from FOOD. Something is very wrong with this picture.
