  1. I'm lucky if I get in 1200 calories, but tortilla chips are like a staple in my life - I use them to replace croutons on my salads. Just wasn't sure if that was ok
  2. So is it ok to still eat tortillas and tortilla chips, even though they are sometimes overly processed? This is the only thing in my diet I was adamate about keeping, but I'm afraid it is what might be causing the pounds to slowly but steadily creep on (I'm on day 16 of gluten-free diet, gained 5 lbs in a week).
  3. Soooo my lips are also burning, and I don't have a BF or anyone kissing me! This just started 2 days ago, out of nowhere. Completely random, and rather uncomfortable.
  4. I have yet to feel better - I'm tired all the time, still have stomach aches, and overall...don't feel much healthier. I'm not sure if I'm lacking on vitamins or what my deal is. I am female, and am on the depo shot so I don't have a period. As for the steroids...they definitely helped contribute to the weight gain, and it hasn't gone away since I...
  5. 5 lbs in a matter of days - I know it's not a lot, but when all my jeans are too tight, it's a scary thing to deal with! I've struggled big time to get my last 10 lbs off, so this was a tough one to deal with. I know I need to heal and there will probably be some fluctuations, I just hope I can get to where I need to be now that I know what the underlying...
  6. Good to know! I didn't expect this to be such an ordeal...it's just gluten, right?! I had NO idea what all this entailed before I was diagnosed. I'm thankful for this message board, as most people around me don't understand these "withdrawal" symptoms and why I'm not feeling 100% already. Because mine has gone on sooooo long undiagnosed, I expect it...
  7. Thanks for the good advice - I too am recovering from steroids after they found colitis - the whole reason celiacs was even tested for! I've been sick for a good 15 years before anyone would actually listen to me that this wasn't ALL stress related. It's just been a rough 2 weeks, and I wasn't sure if this was normal. I keep saying I'll get back to my...
  8. I too am struggling with this - been gluten free for 2 weeks now, started off with a quick weight loss and have gained it back and then some. I've always eaten healthy as my weight has always been a struggle, but to gain 4 lbs in a week is ridiculous, especially on a low-calorie diet. Is this all just part of it? I've yet to indulge on the gluten-free...
  9. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago today - before I was diagnosed, a colonoscopy revealed I had lymphocytic colitis, so I was put on budesonide for a few weeks. Long story short, it made me feel like I was gaining weight. So two weeks ago gluten was bid farewell to, I dropped a few pounds immediately, felt slim and trim...in the last few days I've put back on...
