  1. Great article, thank you for the additional information!
  2. The corn intolerance has definitely crossed my mind lately...I'm hoping not! =)
  3. I feel like I eat ALL day!! I'm a big snacker, so I find myself munching non-stop, on something! I brought more chicken for lunch today in hopes that it fills me up longer than what I had yesterday. I also had horrible stomach aches and D yesterady morning so that didn't help feeling so hungry. I'm giving up cheese for a while to see if that is a culprit...
  4. I definitely have the willpower - a co-worker once said I could be in the military because I'm so strict when it comes to a food regiment! I've looked into SCD a little, but it does seem intense! I do think I have other allergies other than gluten though, so I'll have to stay in touch with you and see, if you do start it, how it goes! My first few weeks...
  5. Too funny!! I've made it (almost) through 2 days...my only complaint is I constantly feel hungry, and have low energy (which unfortunately is nothing new)...perhaps tomorrow will be better!
  6. Unfortunately...no good changes for me yet! Still have stomach aches (D), increased joint pain, increased fatigue, hungry all the time, gained 5 lbs...it's been fun!!
  7. I sure hope so!! Butter...that makes me laugh, as I have never put butter on anything! Maybe I'll try it!! I am also going to call my doctor today to make sure there isn't something else they should test me for...better safe than sorry! Thank you for the encouragement, looking forward to this! Day 2, here I come!!
  8. What was the item you were testing? My food journal starts today...I have to get my body back on track somehow!
  9. I know I got glutened last Monday - and it hit me instantly, and I was ill for days. But a week later, I didn't expect to still feel bad? I have come to the conclusion my equate gelcaps might be the culprit. I'm also, starting today, cutting out ALL dairy for a while to see if that helps. I have already had another rough morning, following yesterday being...
  10. After another horrible day yesterday, and a rough start today, I am officially paleo/primal! I'll keep you all posted, I truly hope this is the answer for me and my body.
  11. Thank you for all your helpful advice - I will definitely start a food diary again! I had always kept one while working out with my trainer, but had "lost touch" with it once I was forced to quit working out due to fatigue. I'm also working on cutting the dairy out just to be safe - as horrible as I felt all weekend, I'd try anything to feel ok!! =)
  12. I am celiac - I've been extremely careful so I'm pretty sure I didn't get cc'd - but who can be 100% sure these days! I stayed home all weekend due to feeling so awful so chances are unlikely. I'm wondering if its more than just gluten that I have an intolerance for...
  13. With extreme D!! What on earth is going on! Today marks 3 weeks being gluten-free...I had an awful weekend, literally couldn't get off the couch and was pale as a ghost Saturday. Yesterday my energy levels were non-existent. I'm assuming this is all part of the "welcome" stage of going off gluten? I haven't had 3 runs to the bathroom this fast in a while...
  14. Well after my weekend of barely being able to get off the couch from being so sick, I will probably be headed that direction asap!!
  15. Oh I know vegetables and fruits have plenty of carbs in a different way, I just didn't know how healthy it was to eliminate the grains and what not. My personal trainer has always told me that's a big no-no! I've still thought about trying though as I am feeling quite crappy having gone gluten free This was interesting to read and almost has me convinved...
  16. How do you survive with no carbs? And is that healthy?! I think I'd go crazy!
  17. I have heard from many (and read here obviously) that dairy might need to be eliminated for a while - I think I'll cut that out. I have read the 'newby' thread and gained a lot from there. I just re-read it actually, just for a good refresher! I'm trying to keep my diet as "whole foods" friendly as possible. Definitely working on getting a better understanding...
  18. Before I get into all my questions...here's a little background. I've had stomach issues for as long as I can remember - I'm 29, and I can date things back to early high school. A few years back, I finally went to the doctor. Tests and stool samples were run...results: you stress too much. Ok? Life goes on. About a year ago things got progressively...
  19. Thanks for giving me hope!! I've gotten past the massive headaches but a short 2 weeks in and I'm beyond exhausted, all the time! I love hearing that there is something to look forward to
  20. Ahhh thank you for that information!
  21. I'm very newly diagnosed, and have had a dream every night for the past few nights. One night I was eating a pretzel, the next it was in my coffe...which is ironic, because I suffered my first cross-contamination Tuesday when ordering a drink from Starbucks that I was too naive to think twice about. The effects of it have been tremendous, so when I dreamt...
  22. Mission brand doesn't state they are gluten free? They had always been my "crack" until a few weeks ago, and I was afraid to continue eating them not knowing. I did however find a Tostito's Simply Natural brand today with only 3 ingredients - organic yellow corn, sunflower oil and sea salt. They are good!
  23. I actually called my doctors office yesterday to see what all they tested for - this started with a colonscopy that found colitis, and led to a blood test - needless to say, I wasn't real educated on anything until they called and said I without a doubt had celiacs. I'm waiting for a call back to see what all was tested. All I know is 2 weeks into being...
  24. I have the opposite problem...I'm gaining weight, like, overnight! So frustrating. I eat sooooo clean and healthy, it's very frustrating.
  25. Who knew Cheetos were gluten free! Too funny. I recently found a brand called Garden of Eatin' that has blue corn chips made with "organic blue corn" that I'm inlove with. Like every other chip though, they are processed. Everything else I eat is super clean, except the chips!
