ARCHIVED Can Celiac Effect Every Part Of Your Body
surviormom replied to dek38's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am no expert. I have spent a year learning all of this, but I have to say, get tested. Now. I gave up gluten before getting a full celiac test so now I cannot get a good celiac test. Get it done before you stop eating gluten. Just to make sure you know what it is or isn't. But you sound like you are. Problems all your life and you thought it was... -
Just curious, this son, has a behavior issue with gluten, and when I researched Flat Feet, I came up with a few causes, but one that stood out to me was diseases of the nervous system, could that be inflammation of the nervous system? I know it doesn't really matter, it is what it is, he has Flat Feet and needs good shoes and an orthotic, but just to help...

Its been about a year since I first gave up gluten, I was lumped as a Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. I came here for answers and the more I learned the more I thought, um, this is me. So, I have tried to remain gluten free with the exception of a week in August, 2 birthdays and an anniversary, for which I had red dots all over me for 5 weeks and a 3 day...
-
I remember it took about 5 weeks for the red dots to go away last fall. I guess 8 weeks plus fits. What will it be next time 6 months? That was me just blowing steam.

ARCHIVED Gerd Upper Stomach Discomfort - Celiac Related?
surviormom replied to dek38's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have been Gluten Free for a year with only a few mishaps, now after a bad mistake, I have had C-Diff and what looks like GERD, not sure yet, they have not gone over the biopsies with me, I am just reading their report and everything I am reading, reads like GERD to me. I will know after they go over the biopsy results with me, they took four samples out... -

Are there natural alternatives to Prilosec? -
That was a good nap. I think I will take another one. Now I just need the results of the Biopsies. Much easier than all of the C-Sections. Thanks everyone.

ARCHIVED What Do You Miss The Most?
surviormom replied to Slr38's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Has anyone ever contacted Olive Garden regarding gluten-free Breadsticks, they have a gluten-free menu, why not breadsticks too? That is what we miss in this house the most, that and croissants. Shadowicewolf, your list fits for me, with a few mods....choc fudge ice cream, clam chowder, lasagna. -
I could use some advice too. Flat feet? Anyone hear of flat feet associated with celiac or gluten problems? Its not me this time, one of my sons
-
Thank you. I am feeling a little bit better about it.

Rescheduled so my husband could be there, it will be next Tuesday. No, I have not been through this before, only blood tests. I am trying to brave up. Cost and pain, not my favorite things.

ARCHIVED Hormones, Specifically Menstruation
surviormom replied to cavernio's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
47 years old, have been going through stomach issues for the past 2 months, and have now reached day 59 of my cycle. 2 tests say it is not pregnancy. Therefore, it is all from what is going on inside of me, as I said a few weeks ago, the joys of womanhood and gluten issues. About once a year I go through a 49 day cycle usually around my anniversary, now... -
ARCHIVED Celiac With Itchy Legs - No Rash
surviormom replied to msmissydb's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
That was my suggestion, they change things all the time, re-check the labels. If you see an unknown name google it. I have found in the past year, that gluten is in so much, and its sneaky. Itchy skin is one of my gluten clues. Its in nail polish, who ever would have thought of it being in nail polish? I could rant on this, because it has snuck up on... -
Thanks both of you. I have been feeling much better, still not balanced, I went the other direction now. And still bloating and burping, but I am eating again, healthy foods only though. I am being very careful. I have never gone through an endoscopy before and do not know what to expect or ask or such as that. Nervous.
-
Now its florastor 2x and I have to have an Endoscopy, any advice anyone? What do I ask about it? He wants to see my Esophagus and Stomach, not sure what else he is looking at. I am still bloating after meals and burping a lot. No extra blood tests have been done or anything of that sort, just want to see inside of me and I am not a brave soldier. Advice...

Are you sure you are intolerant and not celiac? -
Small Intestine Bacteria Overgrowth, just learned about it in the past week reading trying to find something to make this stop, went from IBS to that, reading. But doing what the dr. ordered for now. Feeling better, he gave me meds to make symptoms less severe, and I went the lab this morning. Results will be April 29th I think.
-
Being treated for IBS, but he is sending me to the lab for a full work up and then on to the GI. It is not the flu or a virus, but they are going to check everything over and see what it is.
-
Thank you. I tried calling GI. May is the best they could do, put me on their cancel list. So, I tried GP, May, looked for a new one. Urgent care is 250 with our insurance, so I am making him my new GP he can take me in on Friday, and that is a $50 instead of the 250 today would be as an Urgent Care patient. I think I can hang in there another 48 hours...
