  2. Happy Birthday Janet! You always make me laugh (your sense of humor, that is). May all your wishes come true. EDIT: Well......Happy Anniversary to Ya! May all your wishes still come true.
  3. Unfortunately, I have a meeting and do not have the time to post support information for my statements. The government has to have a measurment for products claims to be considered gluten free or not. I believe it's 20ppm. (parts per million) With that said, anything less than that amount may claim to be gluten free by US labeling law.. That does not...
  4. Cadbury is a Hershey Product. Hershey has a history of non disclosure as to the source of their "natural flavors". Hershey products are NOT my shopping list.
  5. There has been VERY EXTENSIVE discussions regarding McD's Fries. Please do a search here for additional information. The CDF, GIG and CSA have issued statements that have declared the amount of detectable gluten in McD's fries to be rendered safe for Celiacs. The arguments can continue into eternity, but the bottom line is that it's a personal choice...
  6. Some cheeses and yogurts are gluten free. Yoplait Yogurt and cheese in it's natural form is fine. (In the US)
  7. Your immediate reaction does not mean an immediate reaction to what you just ate. A gluten reaction can begin within 15 minutes to over 48 hours. Everyone is different. A food journal is an excellent idea. Also, it takes time to heal. If you have been gluten free in your meal, but wearing lipstick or gloss with wheat germ oil, you have not been gluten...
  8. I live in a rural farm community where sorghun and wheat are grown. Because of your post, it made me wonder if wheat and sorghum can be cultivated and processed in the much the same manner that oats are grown and processed and subject to cross contamination. There has been much talk about oats not being safe due to this facts and most are considered...
  9. Good Grief, I have had my share of tears, staring at a menu blubbering in front of my helpless husband and a totally bewildered waiter. Grocery shopping and getting down right mad as hell. The first loaves of bread I bought ended up as great substitutions to arm weights. This too shall pass. Sometimes I had to remind myself how sick I actually was...
  10. Evie, Welcome here! Your DNA test were positive which indicates that you MAY be predisposed to a gluten intolerance, allergy or Celiac. These are the tests that you doctor needs to order (all of them): Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA...
  11. Sarah, I make a similar recipe. Broccoli florets mayo balsamic vinegar sugar cooked bacon crumbles craisans (lots) chopped onion And, you're right. It's great for summer dinners and the longer it sits, the better it tastes. Thanks for posting.
  12. For those at work and no access to TV. Tim Russert has passed away at work from a massive heart attack. My heart is sick. We have the pleasure of knowing Walter Cronkite and I put Tim in the same category professionally and personally. How can we elect a new President without him? Tony Snow said that Tim had "GUSTO". Yes, he did. What a patriot...
  13. Best thing to do is to contact Hershey and inquire about their policy regarding "natural flavors".
  14. Celiac is classically diagnosed by flattening of the villi in the small intestines, scalloping and by biopsy. None of this can be viewed or sampled during a colonoscopy. Anytime there is a strong history of digestive issues, it's wise to have annual testing of the colon. Testing of the large intestines can look for Crohn's Disease and other issues. ...
  15. Thirst is a very common symptom of a gluten reaction. Chemical exposure might be something you may want to talk to your employer and your or quality control personnel... AND, a medical professional. Please be careful.
  16. I put it in EVERYTHING from spaghetti sauce to rice, eggs and potatoes...anything that boils.
  17. Glad you found it. Let us know if we can help you in any way.
  18. HerbOX Chicken and Beef Broth and Cubes are gluten free.
  19. Isn't maltodextrin associated with MSG?
  20. Maltodextrin is the US is generally derived from corn. Any wheat would, by law, be required to be disclosed as "Maltdextrin (wheat)." It would be highly unusual to contain any other form of gluten.
  21. No, it did not, but it appears obvious. Here is a good article: Open Original Shared Link
  22. May you have a WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY and all your wishes come true!
  23. This was in our paper this morning. Associates Press' most recent comparison of international prices for gasoline (converted to dollars per gallon). Prices as of May 30: Germany $11.49 Turkey $11.49 France $ 9.66 Britain $ 8.30 Japan $ 5.77 Brazil $ 5.67 India $ 4.16 Russia...
  24. Kraft dips will clearly list any form of gluten. Good old Lipton Onion Dip that you make with Sour Cream and Lipton Onion Mix will work. (Other Lipton Dryed Mixes are NOT gluten free)
