  1. Hi Christina, Thank you SO much for responding. I do have a doctor that can help me. I really feel for you guys as it is such a hard thing to deal with. I really wish I found out at 10 though, it would have saved me from so many problems, and so much pain. Good luck to you and your family! <3
  2. Anybody find out they have and overgrowth of Candida? 2013 was fully a year of trial and error for me. After all the testing in regards to gluten(Celiac, sensitivity, or intolerance?)...I finally go back to what I already knew, but didn't think it was the root problem. I know now that it is, and always has been since I was a child. I'll keep this short, and...
  3. I've been gluten-free for two weeks now(well, I actually fell off the wagon yesterday by having several bites of my husband's takeout). I actually got a really bad cold the day I went gluten-free that lasted for a week, so I actually had a hard time deciphering the cold symptoms from withdrawal symptoms. But looking back, the symptoms that I still have are...
  4. Ugh, I know the feeling. I've been gluten-free for two weeks now since my endo/colonoscopy....Was SO strong about not eating gluten, until: yesterday! My hubby got some take out....he was like, are you sure you don't want anything? I was like, babe....I CAN'T eat that stuff. You know that, don't ask me. HAH, we got home(I even bought some gluten-free frozen...
  5. Hi Belle, thank you...and me too! Im glad there doesn't seem to be anything else going on. Total peace of mind after months of worry. I'll post the biopsy results as soon as I get them- I'm very curious. The doc also suggested the Fodmop diet to see if maybe those foods are causing problems for me if it's not Celiac. For now though, I'm just going to stick...
  6. So hallelujah, I've been gluten-free since Friday after my procedures! Other than developing a nasty cold that same day, I'm slowly starting to feel better. I already lost 7 lbs of bloat since then-finally looking less "pregnant" and finally starting to experience a little more mental clarity too. I'm still waiting for my doc to call me back with the...
  7. blckchr8, I hope you find out soon! Im curious as to how long the biopsy report will take to come back myself. Tomorrow is my endo/colonoscopy, and as Im sitting here, drinking this awful gallon of prep stuff , I too have done this to get the final check to see if it could be Celiac. But, Im SOOO happy I can finally go gluten-free tomorrow, and be back on...
  8. I gotta thank you guys again!!! For keeping me sane and letting me know Im not the only one that's had to go through all this craziness! The GI was pretty cool, has years of experience, and used to diagnosing Celiac a lot. He is doing the endoscopy-biopsy of duodenum, and colonoscopy-biopsy of the ileum. Now, after a couple months of impatiently waiting...
  9. Hi, I was wondering what kind of problems Celiac disease can cause for the colon? I've tried googling, but I haven't found anything other than the serious, colon cancer. Are there any non-serious problems that it could cause? Thanks!
  10. Hi greenbeanie, thank you for responding. What you said totally makes sense! The good news is, that I had only gone gluten-free for like a month and half. Which means, by now, I've been on gluten for about 4 months now. I've gained weight like crazy! And my stomach is rock hard and hurts...surely, if I have Celiac, it should show some damage. I don't think...
  11. Sorry, I think I put the wrong title to my question. I know all over the internet it says about 2-4 slices of bread a day. Im just wondering because I've been eating so much gluten the last 3 months, if I cut back just a little, will it matter too much? What were your experiences on the gluten challenge, biopsy results, etc.? Thank you!
  12. I finally saw my GI. Im scheduled for a endoscopy/colonoscopy(biopsy of duodenum & ileum) in about 3 weeks cause that is the soonest one available . I had to wait a month for my GI appointment that I just had...so I ate gluten everyday, and well Im eating it almost all day long now. I feel so sick and depressed and my stomach aches all day. This is so...
  13. Me too, the timing thing. For me, it just sucks all around. If I cut back and only eat it one meal a day, the symptoms get more severe. Also, the lack of gluten also starts the withdrawal process...so I feel awful....then I eat it, and the symptoms feel worse. It's a lose, lose situation. So I decided to just eat it throughout the day...the symptoms stay...
  14. Hi, I feel for you...Im going through the same thing. I was on and off prior to making my appointment...but have been consuming it everyday now. I had to wait a month(app. this Friday). It seemed like a year honestly... lol. But, this is just a consultation. I have no idea how long Im going to have to wait for the actual procedure. It's very hard....I had...
  15. Im so happy that you got the answer you needed. Two books that I really like: The Gluten Free for Dummies series by Danna Korn Open Original Shared Link My ultimate favorite cook book, because I have other allergies as well, and the recipes are easy and yummy! is by Tammy Credicott Open Original Shared Link These books have helped me in so many...
  16. Thank you for sharing...Im still not sure what to expect. I hope it goes as smoothly as yours. I had to wait a month for my consult-which is now next Friday(Halelujah!!! ). The last 3 weeks have sucked! BUT, it will only be the consult. Im hoping that he'll listen to me and get me in for the procedures not too long after. I don't know if I can wait another...
  17. Thank you bartfull, I will check out the DH forum.
  18. I have a rash! Bad one...everywhere it shows up, it parallels. If its on one arm, its on the other...one shoulder its on the other etc. It shows up on my face, arms, shoulders, my whole torso-back and front, my thighs, my knees...lol, I think the only place I don't really get it is my calves and feet. It looks like these little bumps that have fluid in them...
  19. Hi, just wanted to recommend this cook book: "The Healthy Gluten-Free Life: 200 Delicious Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free, and Egg-Free Recipes!" by Tammy Credicott. It has helped me a lot!! It's all very yummy and easy. Her husband has Celiac, and her two daughters have a lot of allergies. As far as your son's GERD, I think some of the recipes might...
  20. I totally agree with Tayni! I know its really hard to continue the gluten once you find out that it's causing all your problems...but staying on it for testing reasons is really important to get accurate testing. And trust me, you want to get them ALL out of the way now, then you don't have to wonder down the line and torture yourself all over again. Hang...
  21. Thanks for responding. That's so awesome that your feeling better! I'm look forward to that day too! I agree it's so very important to listen to our bodies...they really have a lot to say! Did you have a positive biopsy? Im curious as to what they are going to find in there for me.
  22. Hey, thank you for sharing. Im no expert, but looks like everything's normal except the inflammation that you noted in the first post. You should be happy that everything looks good...now you don't have to worry. I'd definitely continue gluten, and dairy free. Maybe even watch your sugar for a while....and make sure your taking a good probiotic. There...
  23. I want to see what your report looks like!
  24. Boy oh boy, I guess I have an appointment in 4 weeks, and it's only a consult. I have to remain glutened until then. Oh lord, I don't want to put anymore weight! Im trying to make sure I keep active, and know that this is worth it because Im finally going to, well hopefully get the answers Im looking for. Lol, if for some reason, just saying, that the doc...
  25. Serious, thank you for babbling! It's so hard working with the doctors, especially if your educated about the disease...they don't seem to like that very much. Haha. I found you post, because I was thinking about the blood work that I had my doc run. I had to give him the list of tests to run, and the system didn't have a couple of them! And I guess because...
