ARCHIVED We Should All Be Eating This (If You Can Tolerate It If Course)!Ksee replied to Brandiwine's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Kale is great but take care if you take blood thinnners. Don't increase or decrease the amount of dark green leafies you eat. It could effect your clotting. (Your doctor already told you that hu?) If you take thyroid meds, dark green leafies can inhibit those too but the same as before, don't change from the amount you previously ate unless knowing this...

I'm not taking up for anyone's ignorance so please don't take this wrong. There are people who take things to the extreme and without any understanding of nutrition or disease think gluten is another word for wheat processing in things like bread, cookies, cakes and so forth. These people put themselves on a "gluten free" diet because they believe it is...

ARCHIVED Gluten Sensitivity Or Disordered Eating? Not Sure What To Do?Ksee replied to quester's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms It is so difficult to get perspective when we are sick no matter what the reason. Don't ever be ashamed to ask for help. I don't know if gluten is a problem for you but first things first okay? Go to a doctor you trust and tell your story. Sure they will want to treat the anxiety problems but it's going to be difficult to manage any other problems without...

ARCHIVED 3 Months Into Gfd: Dehydrated And ConstipatedKsee replied to funkflex's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease The test you had for "glucose" could only of been a HgbA1c for that result and reference range. It reflects a level of glucose metabolism over 60 to 90 days. I would be interested in knowing what your pituitary hormones are. TSH is one of those and without further information of the reference range or medications I couldn't say if that number is good or...

ARCHIVED Is Genetically Modified Wheat Common Now-Days Responsible For This Condition?Ksee replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Captain, you quoted me three times but I still wonder if you read what I said, "transgenic wheat does exist". I continued by saying that it is not being grown for sale in the US. You posted two links, both of which referred to the same incident. The Washington Post article reported that the USDA was clearly upset and had begun a criminal investigation into...

The What's For Dinner Tonight ChatKsee replied to jess-gf's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips Wow, color me emerald. I wish I could be a carnivore again Oh well, it's roasted tomatooniongarlicbasilthymedashofclove over jasmine brown rice for me. Have you ever heard of a tenderfoot? They are the shoe wearers of the world.

ARCHIVED Can Sugar Cause Heart Palpitations?Ksee replied to Hala's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Interesting. If you notice a relationship between these drinks and heart palpitations I think it's not a question of if but why? You have already noted a link between the two, now look at the ingredients and try to identify what is associated with your symptoms. Caffeine? Food dyes? Additives and preservatives? Or just so much sugar you can't tolerate the...

Oh I see this as solvable. In your case (if it were me) and I could not get any consideration, I would find a way to gently urge the discussion toward diversity in the workplace. I get the sense they may be way ahead of you but embrace the agenda derailment just a bit and subtly. Your point is at least as strong when looking at it as a discriminatory issue...

ARCHIVED Is It Worth Seeing A Dietician?Ksee replied to Lexi1989's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I agree with Gemini, it sounds like you already identified the problems but only need encouragement to follow your gut (pun intended) I was saying in another thread, it wasn't hard for me to remove gluten because I already ate whole foods, fruit, vegetables, beans, eggs, dairy, single spices and so taking the grain out was easy. Something you can think...

ARCHIVED Help With Test ResultsKsee replied to BSVD's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I started feeling better very quickly, within a few days, but I have read it is different for everyone. I already knew a lot about nutrition, and healthy eating. My diet has always been simple, whole foods with simple processing if any so it was easy for me to get the gluten out of my cabinets and fridge. That could of been a reason for my rapid improvement...

ARCHIVED Stage 2 Kidney Disease? Just Noticed Lab Result.Ksee replied to SeekingSarah's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Your doctor may decide on more aggressive and combined treatment (CDT) or may decide that would put further stress on your kidneys. I'm sorry, I don't know.

ARCHIVED Stage 2 Kidney Disease? Just Noticed Lab Result.Ksee replied to SeekingSarah's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Do you know what caused your lymphedema?

ARCHIVED Stage 2 Kidney Disease? Just Noticed Lab Result.Ksee replied to SeekingSarah's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms That is a possibility. Urine isn't supposed to have protein, it's a molecule that is big and can block tubules. How is that being treated?

ARCHIVED Screen Too Wide-How To Shrink It?Ksee replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help I'm using chrome and it works in exploder but I should correct myself, I haven't used it in linux, mac or some of the windows browsers.

ARCHIVED Strange Things Going OnKsee replied to slickdaddy0077's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Another guess, the first thing that entered my mind was how medications that block nicotine receptors cause increased dreams for some people and the same neurotransmitters are associated with some of the complications of celiac. Every brain is just a bit different so I wouldn't be blown away to find dreaming was affected.

ARCHIVED Stage 2 Kidney Disease? Just Noticed Lab Result.Ksee replied to SeekingSarah's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Some renal issues can be associated with celiac and other problems. Infections and other dietary situations come to mind. Many renal insults will improve when the cause is identified and resolved even those worse than what yours appear. Stage II is better used to identify damage that is progressive and untreatable.

ARCHIVED Recovery Meal Plan/grocery ListKsee replied to NotMollyRingwald's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease You can do this in the oven or on the stove top. Put your veggies in an oven safe dish or small skillet, top with the spices you like and a couple of tablespoons of a good fat like olive oil (unless someone posts it can be a problem I haven't heard about). You can add about 1/8 to 1/4 cup of the above mentioned chicken broth and cook at 350 degrees or on...

Wooops?! someone just made me aware my last post ended up in a place that give the appearance of encouraging conflict. For clarity.... it was intended to address the person beginning this thread. I would like to hear more from that person to better respond if you wouldn't mind please when you get back to reading the thread? Thank you

I understand and I'm not trying to be discouraging but I have found real world application of the law is not uniform. I don't doubt your statement of recent rulings but to obtain that ruling someone had to go through the process I described, identify a problem and go through the legal hurdles to resolve it. Everyone who is wheelchair bound, either from illness...

Ah, ok thanks. I will wait then

I understand but those protections are only given to those with legal determinations. Children can be determined to have disability if their illness or injury is judged to prevent future ability to work, obtain education to work and of course for life threatening conditions. It was not something I understood before my disability. For instance, lots of people...

I'm glad to hear that Brandi Thank you My experience has not been overwhelmingly negative and my feelings are not hurt. I don't usually care much when that sort of thing is directed at me. I do care when it's directed at others and my response had more to do with that sort of post. I know I was not specific but I haven't found singling out individuals...
