Thanks Much Ursa Major ! I have heard of this, that Celiacs may need vitamin K supplements, though I wasn't sure for what. But there are so many facets to this disease,I can forget! I might get the Vite K supplements, because I can't always promise to eat loads of veggies-I do eat some salad, some vegetables, but it probably isn't enough. I have quite a...

My God! my tonsils and back throat have been hurting me too for about 2 weeks, since i've been gluten-free for about 6weeks. I figure all my ailments are do to Celiac ,since I'm otherwise health as a horse. It hasn't gotten smelly,or white, but it was hurting bad enough for me to think"I might have to get these tonsils out".

ARCHIVED Flu And Bladder/kidney Infections After Multiple Cc's
Candy replied to YoloGx's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know I had kidney pain and uterine pain when I ate a blend of wheat and wheat -free. And I am constantly tired.I don't have the kidney pain when I eat mostly wheat free. I'm OK with Citrus now, but I can never tell when this would start to irritate me. Like, for a while I could do milk, then for a while I couldn't (casein allergy celiacs have),then, after... -
Do Celiacs have any problems with blood clotting? I've been eating gluten-free for a while and now, if I scratch a bump it'll bleed forever where as before I went gluten-free it would seal up real quick. The gluten-free foods I eat are mostly, rice, milk,Orange juice, beans, vegetables, fruits, and meats, oatmeal and popcorn.I rarely eat gulten free baking flours...

ARCHIVED Private Insurance Coverage
Candy replied to pellegrino's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
celiac disease is inherited - if that can be called pre-existing. I didn't notice it until I was 28,or so years old.I'm in pretty good health, but fatigue, and bone weakness, and our dietary needs have to be acknowledged and considered by others;I'm more paced and careful now that I know what I've got-I don't just run out and do all sorts,so it helps to be somewhat... -
ARCHIVED Medication-gluten Digesting Enzymes
Candy posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone been able to get the pills that are supposed to digest gluten ? I know about it from an article on this celiac.com website that I read about a year ago. Some medical place in the state Maryland was the one that mentioned it , and I'm sure it exists , but no one seems to want us to have it, or else it would have been offered to us all. I think it... -
ARCHIVED Lectins And How They Hurt The Gut
Candy replied to Nancym's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I know about Lectins. I read a book called "The Blood Type Diet" by a Dr. Dadamo and it says that foods have proteins that help or irritate each blood type -his website tell you about the lectins in each food so you can know what's in what you're eating. I'm a foodie and I've tried just about every food, but I didn't always feel good when I ate certain foods... -

Candy posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
In the past few weeks I 've been having trouble with cow's milk ,yougurt and cheese ,yet I feel the need to have milk, so I thought I'd get goat's milk-I also like goat's milk soap for my skin ,too. ARCHIVED Blood Type Diet Could Improve Health
Candy replied to Candy's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It's not really a diet but a food regimem. You make it sound like a mean bias, but it's really customized medicine. No one should make you eat it,but it's a concept that a person might want to consider. It's not an eyecolor diet. The blood type diet asks your race because the race groups have different needs,Caucasians don't need as many beans as Asians. Many... -
ARCHIVED Blood Type Diet Could Improve Health

Science hasn't said that a food's color is not meant for you. Where as their blood type diet research claims each food has a bloodtype too,in it's proteins, and the ones that don't agree with you bloodtype don't fully digest in your intestine and can do some minor negative things to you and make you age faster.I'd try it for 1or 2 months to see if I see and... -

Chocolate does not contain Gluten(or so I thought) and is Safe and Neutral for all bloodtypes O,A,B,and AB, so I always keep some in.It's like the only thing I can eat-Phew! Milk Choc does have Casein though I don't know if I'm allergic to that.My mother has my genes and Bloodtype and she can eat everything and I can't boo hoo. -
Rice and oats are gluten-free but give me gut pains .Why? They also give me head allergy symptoms-puffy itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose -it's like summer allergies all year round. It keeps me miserable for a few days ,but it's the only grains I can eat. This site say there are certain types of wheat that don't irritate Celiacs, ancient wheats called diploid...

This may sound strange, but after going totally gluten-free for 2-3 months,I feel fine -so now I'm back to eating wheat and refined sugar.I felt I could eat it,so when I went to the supermarket I gingerly picked up two wheat rolls and a pumpernickel bagel and I ate them without pain or side effects or anything.I can't believe it,I feel like singing Aretha... -

Hi Again, I did write my state's senator addressing the cuts at NIH that would affect or hinder research of Celiac disease. But like postee TARNALBERRY says there must be a reason for the cuts and it probably is well thought out, I guess-unless the gov. is deliberately cutting things that are important to people of Northern European descent like those...
