Thanks Tiffany, i thought i was going crazy... its hard enough to read labels, etc. but this is the second time this has happened to me recently, where there is a product labeled gluten free and it has spelt flour-- FYI the other was at Tasti-Dlite- they are now advertising gluten free baked goods (cookies, muffins, etc) and they are all made w/ spelt flour...

My roommate came home today all excited that she found a place (besides Risotteria) to get gluten-free pizza...this place called Slice on the UES. So i excitedly look at the menu and it says choose ur crust: "Honey Whole Wheat, Unbleached Herb, or Spelt (Gluten Free)" Am I missing something? I thought Spelt flour was not gluten-free??? Stefi

mookie03 replied to mookie03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
it says "made by Perfette Van Melle Breda, Holland for Perfetti Van Melle USA, Inc." It does give an address to write for more info about the product, but i was wondering if anyone new because they provide only a snail-mail address, no email or phone or anything -

mookie03 replied to lbarton's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
ive seen maltitol (and syrup), etc. in a lot of candies, gums, stuff like that. Also in sugar-free items, which is why i was wondering if it is a sugar substitute and not actually malt. I just wonder b/c I really like mints and i hate all that extra sugar, but most sugar-free mints have words with malt in them- i dont know if i can have them! And yes,... -

I know what you mean- as soon as i got that immediate response from philosophy, I practically fell in love with the brand and vowed to go buy more of it to use at home as well as the gym! its amazing how well a company can do by just answering our questions! I do think that as time goes on, it will become easier and easier to access this info. Unfortunately... -

not only did they respond immediately, but heres what they said- sounds like they actually know what they are talking about! Most philosophy products are gluten-free. We do, however, recommend those with a gluten allergy/sensitivity avoid the following products: 1. pigment of your imagination 2. time on your hands 3. the big blow off... -

What about Philosophy? I use their 3-in-one shampoo/conditioner/body wash b/c it is travel size and is great for the gym. Anyone know if it has gluten in it? The ingredients are mostly chemicals so I couldnt figure it out -

I need someone to clear this up for me because while I have gotten quite good at breaking down food labels, I cant figure out the antacids (tums, rolaids, etc.) I remember reading somewhere on this site (or perhaps on the delphi list) that pfizer will always list gluten in their products, but the rolaids (chewable, not the softgels) dont list anything about...

Has anyone eaten at any of the chains of Del Frisco's steakhouse? I am going to the one in NYC tonight and want to make sure i dont get glutened! I had heard they season the steaks w/ just salt and pepper, so i think they are fine, but i was just wondering if anyone has eaten there, and if so, what sides or appetizers you had there. Thanks!

I read on the Delphi list that Westsoy NF vanilla soymilk has barley in it but that the gluten proteins dont get through? Is it gluten-free or not? Anyone getting sick from it? I think i am but i wanted to be sure if it was that. -
I went to Legal Seafoods last night for dinner (the one in White Plains, NY). I called ahead to ask if they had a gluten-free menu, just to be sure, and when i arrived, they had already noted that i needed the menu and gave it to me instead of the regular menu. The waiter greeted us and saw my menu and explained how the food was cooked separately and...
