VegasCeliacBuckeye posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have to give credit to Erratic - -she mentioned animal crackers as her last "gluten" item she intentionally ate. What was the last Gluten-Item you INTENTIONALLY ate? For me, it was a mug full of beer. Around the summer of 1998 at Ohio State...it was wonderful, for a few hours... -

ARCHIVED Cured Of Celiac
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to magaka's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
How ironic? I was back in Ohio this past weekend. I decided to have a bite to eat at this small restaurant run/owned by a talented chef. Anyway, that day, the bartender had called in sick. So, the General Manager had to work behind the bar. We started talking and "Celiac" came up -- his ex-girlfriend has it, so he was well acquainted and recommended... -

Ruth Chris (usually too expensive) 4. Morton's of Chicago (too expensive, but great) 5. Steaks at Chilis (no seasoning and mashed potatoes, no onion straws) I... -

Stick to Steakhouses. Just order steak (no seasoning, no butter) and a baker plain (real butter and cheese on the side). Salad, no croutons oil and vinegar on the side. Every steakhouse has a baked potato and every one has a side salad. Steakhouses are by far the easiest places for folks with celiac disease to eat at -------------- (In this... -

ARCHIVED Ouch! Now What Do I Eat?
VegasCeliacBuckeye replied to trying4faith's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Chicken and Rice Soup always helps me out. Buy couple of bone in checken breasts. Boil them in a pot with salt, pepper, herbs, garlic cloves, diced carrots, onion, and yellow food coloring (makes it look like the real stuff). Cook for around an hour. Add water if you lose too much to steam and evaporation. Take chicken out. "Pick... -

While we are on the subject, here is how I use the tortillas for "Bronco's Tacos" I spray oil into a pan on the stove. I gently place one of the tortillas on the pan --- let it sear a little. Then put your favorite type of grated/shredded cheese on top of it (not too much ) Place another tortilla on top of the cheese. After a while, flip... -

What a shame! At least they gave you a GC. Oh well, the way I look at it, we have to deal with "humans", so they are going to make mistakes -- we just have to frequent the ones who make less mistakes than others. In any event, I do love their food. Especially for the money. I also love that soup....I hope I never find pasta in mine -

ARCHIVED Restaurant Suggestions For Las Vegas?

You actually have a number of choices. First, there is an Outback steakhouse right on the strip. Most of the higher end places will cater to you (its Vegas, where hospitality reigns supreme) Here are some places I have had success with (I live in Vegas) 1. Fix (at the Bellagio - steakhouse - pricey, but great food and service -- their...
