  1. Hi, I have really bad cramps during my period too. I've been on countless different brands of Pills, and nothing has really helped. When I was in high school, I used to take Anaprox which is supposed to stop cramps before they start, but because my periods were so irregular, I could never catch them in time. Now that I'm on the Pill, the only relief I...
  2. Hi, I had an MRI done about 3 years ago which showed degeneration in my L5 disk and also SI problems. I was just diagnosed with celiac disease last May, so I never knew what was causing my back issues (I'm only 25) but now, after reading your testimonies, I guess it could be a result of celiac disease. I've been having back pain since high school, but never...
  3. Hi everyone, My brother-in-law just bought us a grain mill. I'm really excited to use it, but whenever I try to grind something finely, it turns grey because of the iron grinding surfaces. It doesn't seem like I should eat it with all that metal in it! Does anyone else have a home grinder?
  4. Are you interested at all in some Indian recipes? In South India they make most of their breads from rice and lentils, and they turn out fantastically.
  5. Have you considered making a cheesecake? I tried to make my own gluten-free wedding cake soon after my diagnosis, and it failed miserably (but I didn't have much gluten-free baking experience then, so that was probably why). What I did instead was buy some of Pamela's shortbread cookies and made them into a crust for a cheesecake. I got the cheesecake...
  6. Hi everyone, I've been on a gluten-free diet since last June, and some of my symptoms have alleviated, but in the last three months I've had this new symptom show up that I've never had before. I get this weird combination headache/stomache that makes me feel really nauseated and makes it hard to concentrate on anything, especially reading or typing....
  7. I didn't realize that we needed to worry about dish soap. So many things to think about.... Speaking of dishes, though, my in-laws just visited here, and I'm feeling sick again. I think it's their dish-washing method. They fill the sink, then dunk in the dishes (full of wheat crumbs), rub the sponge around, and then put them in the rack--no rinsing...

    ARCHIVED Red Lobster

Hi, This is the response I got from Red Lobster when asking about gluten-free items on their menu: "Thank you for your interest in Red Lobster; it is always a pleasure to hear from our guests. We are sorry we are not able to provide general nutritional information or have list of items that do or do not contain gluten, as our chefs are continuously...
  9. I went off dairy for a while, and didn't find any improvement. I'm very mistrustful of food though. Although I thought I was gluten-free for months, I think I was accidentally dosing myself by eating in restaurants (which I absolutely don't trust at all anymore and avoid like the plague!) and suspicious flours. I've started avoiding the rice and tapioca...
  10. Hi everyone. I was diagnosed last June and I've been gluten-free (hopefully) since then. I know I've accidentally ingested gluten from time to time, but haven't done it intentionally. I'm finally starting to feel that my diet is under control. My main problem is that for the last two years or so, when my symptoms (mostly diarrhea and cramping) started...
