I thought much of what the children were forced to live through was quite horrific....demoralizing...dangerous.... I was quite surprised to see DD reading it for school...

    I would strongly suspect that your weight gain is due to further muscle development. Muscle mass is very heavy, and 3-5 new pounds of scale weight are easily brought about with some new cross-training activity. It's true, taking your measurements can be a more accurate guage--I tend to really pay attention to how my clothes feel.

    Oh, man, I do wish things were that simple...dad would willingly try the gluten-free diet, but he and my mom are now living in a retirement home where they have all of their meals and snacks provided in their big dining room.
