    It's French...Called Absente. A beautiful, old-fashioned label, and the name at the top is Plantes Saveurs. And yes, it is 65%alc./vol. Freakin' strong stuff....no bloody wonder the Impressionists were incapacitated after tippling this stuff, as their absinthe was much higher octane. Gad, I'd be dead....

    That is SO wonderful, Alex! A celebratory treasure trove....a very special time capsule. Makes me think I should be putting my scribbled notes and sketches, my favorite photos and little knicknacks, away to be opened by my own daughter in what....fifty-odd years....

    Wow...a busy day in Sillyville. I HATE it when I have so much to do and my hectic day does not correspond with any one else's. Too much to catch up on! Funny how our stuff has cane sugar added, which makes it taste very much like Ouzo or Sambuka. Ours got cloudy after we added ice, and more so as it sat. A lovely, deep green. I was injecting...

    Susie! So happy you had a wonderful time away on your sojourn, as I did. My absinthe experience (and that of brother, sister and DH) was very....nice. Our stuff was quite sweet, so I couldn't have much...don't like having to bolus like that with cane sugar. I will repeat that I'm just ecstatic that you've got David right now. Didn't have to fuss with sugar cubes and holey spoons. Anyways, I now know where to get the phaerie, and I have found the perfect spot to indulge over a long weekend. I still cannot believe I found the stuff (the only liquor outlet, I was told, that has it available in Quebec...there it was, tucked away on the ski hill...astonishing...'twas meant to be......

    You know something.....very often, I put my pants on both legs at the same time....in fact, I think I always do this, providing I'm sitting down--not easy to do standing, I'll assure you.
