    I personally don't mind paying a little more when eating out at a restaurant that offers gluten free options. I know its not always the easiest to change what you are making to make gluten free food. I think restaurants that are willing to make accommodations for those of us with celiac disease are few and far between and I am just happy when I can find somewhere...

    Dextrin is a food additive made from starch. I have problems with food additives, I try not to eat anything with additives, because I know they make me feel like I am being glutened even if I'm not.

    Has your husband had blood work done to see if his antibodies are still high or normalizing. If he takes any medicines or vitamins double check to see if there are any sources of gluten in those.

    I'm sorry that you feel so alone. I know how you feel. My sister says she understands and then she says lets go out to eat, or we are in town and she gets hungry and just can't wait to get home.     I've been wondering the same thing also. I've had times where i can't even lift 2 lbs without feeling like it weighs 10 or 20 lbs.     I've just been recently diagnosed and i've also had to give up dairy. I miss dairy products so much more than I miss gluten, especially Hershey kisses!!!! I also miss my friends cookies that she makes for the holidays. This is going to be my first Christmas gluten free and i'm excited to see what I can create this Christmas!!

    Its very important to get tested to rule out if you have Celiac or just gluten sensitivity. I would talk to your dr and see what they say about testing you, if they don't think they should, I would find a dr that would test you.     I have just recently been diagnosed with Celiac. My blood work came back positive, but my doctor still wants me to have the biopsy to check and see how much damage has been done, since I have so many symptoms. Its difficult and nice and finding out that there was a reason I have been having issues since i was a child and now knowing that I was not crazy.
