  1. I've gone gluten-free, but am still having a lot of trouble with some other food intolerances. My guts go crazy w/ the slightest bit of sugar or dairy. This is especially worse (now) right before my period. Anyone have the same problem?
  2. My IgG food allergy testing came back positive for citrus fruits. Pineapple, oranges, lemons. I had some OJ this morning- bad idea. Always had a problem with apples, too. Especially applesauce or juice.
  3. I had a double endo/colon at the same time, too. It was scheduled a few days later. They scheduled the lady before me 2 months later. But- I told her I was scheduled for surgery in a week (I was) adn that it was urgent. I ended up having to pay a little more out of pocket becuase it had to be at a different facility.

    ARCHIVED Reflux?

ditto. i have had reflux off and on for years. this last time, the meds weren't helping. it was more of a pressure/bubbling in my chest after eating that made me feel llike i couldn't breathe. felt like heart palpitations. after 5 days gluten-free, it went away. it seems to be coming back now a little (after 3 wks). i think i must have got glutened...
  5. Wow, I fit the bill. I am mostly Swedish (as is my last name). Bean, I am also almost 32, also have GERD (related to the gluten sensitivity). My friends were pulling out gray hairs on my head when I was in elementary school (5th grade, I think). By the time I was 22, I had to start coloring my hair because of the premature graying. I don't have blue...
  6. One more question- anyone had elevated platelets on a CBC? Mine has always been normal, but almost doubled this last time and was the only test out of the normal range. When I googled elevated platelets, an article correlating it with Celiac was the first thing to come up.
  7. Thank you guys. I feel so much better. The sad part about it is, that I found the doctor on my cities "top doctors" list. Only 3 endos made the cut. He was outside of my HMO, I was using my PPO. He was nominated by "peer review". I guess he's done a good job at pleasing his peers, but I highly doubt he would make it if it was according to his patients...
  8. When I got all of my bloodwork back, my Vitamin B12 level was very low )48 with normal levels 228-1132. I'm getting weekly B12injections. My iron, calcium were very normal. Folic acid and megnesium, potassium were in the low normal range. I was wondering if anyone had a B12 level markedly low, with normal iron who has been diagnosed Celiac? I do not...
  9. FairySprinkle: Where do you live?
  10. Kalynn: I also had only mildly postive bloodwork, only IgG. For 8 years, my stomach is torn up too after I eat something like pizza or pasta. What else could it be? Have you had food IgG testing done? It could be that type of reaction, or to wheat. But I agree, if you have seen positive results from the diet, keep on it. I also ordered the Enterolab...
  11. thanks- I'm a female. I think I'm just going to stick with my naturopath, who wants to do a 30 day hormonal test, to balance my hormones. Yes- she said that DHEA is a precursor to other hormones, which could mean low estrogen, which would mean night sweats. I think she is way more experienced and knowledgable than he. I have heard that most endo's discount...
  12. I had a lovely appt with the endocrinologist this morning. When I showed him my adrenal gland functioning, with very LOW DHEA, diagnosed as adrenal exhaustion, he rolled his eyes. I think it was pretty much over then. I went onto tell him about my symptoms, weight loss, lack of appetite, postural hypotension, gluten intolerance, food intolerances.....He...
  13. my doctor said that of tTg, IgA, IgG, yes, tTg is more indicative of Celiac, but you only need one marker (IgG) to diagnose gluten sensitivity. I would also try a good naturopath if you can find one, that's who nailed it for me.
  14. H. Pylori can cause symptoms in some people, like ulcers, and some people can have it without symptoms. They say that if you put a % behind your age that is the probability that you have it. I also was tested for it by blood and by endoscopy, which were both negative. My stool test, from BioHealth, was positive. My doc also said stool test was more reliable...
  15. Are there normally lymphocytes and plasma cells present in the lamina propria?
  16. hey jen! how do you think that docs can see mild flattening, and then the biopsy is negative. do you think that they only think they see it because they are looking for it, or do you think that somehow the area they clipped (And you'd think it would be the part that looks flat) didn't have visible damage? Or possibly the pathologist isn't recognizing...
  17. 4tomorrow: You sound like you are in the same position as I am! After my endoscopy, the doc said that she saw "mild flattening of the villli", and that it was mild, so I definitely didn't have "really bad Celiac", but my biopsy came back with no damage noted. It seems like it should be the other way around, since the changes are microscopic. So I...
  18. For 8 years, I've had digestive issues that became remarkably bad after ingesting pizza or pasta. I recently had bloodwork that was IgG positive. My other numbers were AGA IgA 15, tTg IgA 13. However, my total IgA was 108 so I'm told that that is on the low end, and can bring down the IgA's a little, and would be higher if I produced more IgA. Also found...
  19. yes, i'm getting the same message. also, I am unable to edit my profile or add a photo.
