  1. Same here. I don't eat much sugar, so the BBQ sauce is just an occasional treat. One of the reasons the dipping sauce caught my attention is that it only has 1 gram of sugar per tablespoon. That's for the "Signature" flavor; don't know about the others.
  2. Wow, I knew I hadn't been to this forum in a long time, but it looks like I haven't been here for TWO YEARS! Yikes! I've been looking for someplace to get my sweet-tooth fix since Cooqi and Madwoman closed, and last week I was surprised (and happy) to find that Cub carries a big selection of fresh baked goods from French Meadow. They had bread, raisin...
  3. I couldn't find any post on Sweet Baby Ray's new Dippin' Sauces, so I'll pass on the info I have. I've always loved Sweet Baby Ray's barbeque sauces, so I was excited to see "Dipping Sauces" in the store. After verifying that it was gluten-free, I tried the "Signature" flavor (which is a horseradish sauce) and it was DELICIOUS!!! Email from the...
  4. I second nutsonline.com They have nuts that are certified gluten-free and the website tells you very clearly which nuts are safe. Service is fast and the nuts and seeds are absolutely delicious. Good prices, too!
  5. French Meadow is a bakery on Lyndale, just south of downtown. It's been there for at least 20 years. I haven't seen any of their gluten-free products at Target, but I'm going to take a look. Not to be a downer, but. . . remember that this is the company that was raided by the FBI a year or two ago for mislabeling products as gluten-free when they really...
  6. It's been a while, so I thought I'd give an update. After about 3-4 months on the antibiotics, I started feeling MUCH better. Since then, I've been pretty stable -- not feeling better, but not feeling worse. But overall, I'd say I'm feeling better now than I have in 10 years. I've also noticed that my allergies, which usually start up in April have...
  7. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  8. This used to by a HUGE problem for me. I have no idea why it happened, but it was definitely related to celiac. Before I went gluten-free, I would try to do any cardio exercise, and I could go for an hour and not have a drop of sweat on me. Of course, I'd have to drink like a gallon of water because I was so over-heated. I've been gluten-free for 3...
  9. Cheri, you have my sympathy. And I didn't realize that they had internet out there in the boonies. . . . Pizza Luce gets quite busy on gluten-free Days, so make a reservation if at all possible. Or you can carry out, too. If you're coming from far away, make a stop at Cooqi while you're at it and get sine desserts-- it's only about a few minutes from...
  10. There's a Chianti Grill in Burnsville, too. (Though why anyone would go to Burnsville, I don't understand!) Have you tried Pizza Luce in St. Paul (Selby & Hamline) yet? Tuesdays and Wednesdays are gluten-free pizza days!
  11. I have a question for those of you who've been on longterm antibiotics. I'm about 6 weeks into my antibiotics, and I caught a cold that's going around. Usually when I get a cold, I get rid of it pretty quickly -- a day or two usually. This one has hung on for at least a week and shows no sign of getting better. So I'm wondering if this is just a virus...
  12. There's a thread over in the "gluten-free Restaurants" section about this, but I thought I'd mention it over here in case any of you missed it: Pizza Luce's St. Paul restaurant is offering gluten-free pizza (and pasta and desserts) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The response had been very good, and they will be adding gluten-free pizza to their other restaurants...
  13. The St. Paul Pizza Luce has added Wednesdays for gluten-free Pizza, too. They said the response has been HUGE! I wonder if it may wear off over time, but Luce is definitely committed to the gluten-free market. (The crusts are from Cooqi, BTW) Pizza Luce was always my favorite pizza place before I found out I had celiac disease. My favorite is the Spanish...
  14. This is some of the most ridiculous paranoid nonsense I have ever read.
  15. I've been feeling REALLY bad the past couple of days (about 3 weeks into my abx). My stomach hurts, I'm exhausted, my mouth is dry, skin is itching and my appetite is really strong.
  16. Blech! I started taking Flagyl this week and my tummy hurts! The doctor warned me this will happen, and I assume it will get worse as I increase the dosage. (I'm taking 250 mg tablets, starting with one and working up to six by the end of the week). Any ideas on what I can do to help the nausea? If not, a little pity would be okay, too.
  17. I started taking my antibiotics today -- just 100mg of doxy twice a day to start. My tummy is a little grumbly, but that's about it. I also received by B12 shots and nystatin in the mail today. I'll start those tomorrow.
  18. Something interesting happened today, and I thought you might enjoy hearing about it. I filled my prescriptions earlier today. My doctor had told me that when I did so, a pharmacist would come out and try to talk me out of taking all these pills. I was supposed to insist on the drugs and tell them my doctor had discussed them with me thoroughly. It...
  19. Thanks, not-Dr. Carla! I didn't get into all the details in my post, but my doctor gave me a protocol to follow, where I start with one drug, build up the dosage, and cycle the different antibiotics. So I won't be taking a big mouthful of all three at the same time. She literally gave me a chart which shows what pills to take each day, and what time...
  20. And if you ever find yourself on the other side of the river, Pizza Luce's St. Paul store has gluten-free pizza every Tuesday!
  21. Well, I went to see my doctor today, as sure enough I've got lyme disease. At least she isn't messing around -- she gave me a 25 page protocol she uses for treating lyme. I have prescriptions for 3 antibiotics (doxycycline, flagyl and ceftin), as well as nystatin. She also gave me B12 -- I'm supposed to give myself a shot every other day. Plus the...
  22. Thanks for the info, Sherry. My doctor's appointment is later today -- I'm getting kinda anxious! Yes, I definitely have celiac disease (and so does my sister), and have been hanging around in the celiac disease forums for about 3 years -- I've just never had any cause to wander over here to the lymies thread! I've been gluten-free for almost 2.5 years...
  23. Thanks for all of your replies. As I mentioned in my original post, I have an appt with my doctor on Tuesday, but in the meantime I've been doing as much research as I can. I found a paper by a Dr. Burrascano that seems to be one of the leading summaries. What can I expect for the first 2-3 months of treatment? It sounds like large doses of antibiotics...
  24. Thank you, Rachel. I feel pretty confident about my doctor. She is a specialist in CFIDS and she has lots of experience with Lyme disease. She was at least smart enough to test me for Lyme. The biggest downside is that she's 3 hours away. I have an appt with her on Tuesday, so I'll know more then.
  25. Thanks, Andrea! A little more info: On the IgG test, the legend says that 2 or more bands is considered positive. next to the 58 kDa band, my doctor wrote a note (her handwriting is terrible!) that says "suspect co-infection".
