  1. The endoscopy isn't that bad except you lose a day because of the sedation. If your levels were still high after 3 weeks on the gluten-free diet, you might still be ingesting gluten. I might be wrong and if anyone reading this can correct me, I thought the healing process starts pretty quickly and the blood tests numbers start to drop fast after you start...
  2. There's a beer called glutenberg that is made in Canada I was going to order but haven't yet. If is supposed to be pretty good.
  3. I emailed Wildtree and will be posting the response when it comes in. I saw that there were several views so let's see what they say.
  4. I had many of these symptoms. If you go on a gluten free diet your endoscopy will be no good. I know this because my GI doctor did it to me. Unfortunately you must eat normally for the test to be accurate. The having trouble with dairy and other foods are probably because you have to let your intestines heal first before you reintroduce those foods back into...
  5. I tried Epicured. All of those meals looked so good Nikki2777 but they are very regional. Bummer. I emailed a place called Freshly. The meals look good and get fairly good reviews. I just need something quick but not the Udi's frozen meals. Of course I'm not in their area either. They did however ask where I was located and when I said just outside Cincinnati...
  6. So you use Hunts tomato products? Which ones? (diced, paste, sauce?)

All of them. Diced, paste, sauce. No problems. Hunt's is a ConAgra product. ConAgra will always clearly declare any gluten ingredients. They are a very trusted company among the celiac community.

The same goes for Kraft. Kraft will always clearly declare gluten ingredients & is also a very trusted company among the celiac community.

  7. Has anyone out there ever used any Wildtree gluten-free products? What kind of experiences have you had with them?
  8. For anybody eating cherios with celiac disease, check out what the Canadian Celiac Association said: Notice about gluten-free Cheerios General Mills Canada announced last week that five Cheerios flavours sold in Canada will carry a glutenfree claim. Original Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Multi-Grain Cheerios, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and Chocolate Cheerios...
  9. What about Wildtree spices and mixes? Anybody ever had any experiences good/bad with their gluten-free products?
  10. Here is the response I just got from Oregon Seafoods: " We are absolutely are 100% gluten free facility and all of our products are safe to eat. The tuna is naturally gluten free but we also make a variety of different soups and therefore have had those third party verified as gluten free. " They have a variety of canned tuna and salmon along with...
  11. The picnic idea is also a good one. I read the ideas about just ordering raw veggies that are prepared by a restaurant. I am an electrician and do service work in some restaurants around town and can honestly say that I'll never feel comfortable eating out after doing these jobs. Not because they're dirty, but because the clear cross contamination that takes...
  12. Good ideas but I'd be lying if I claimed to be a good cook. The natural foods is the best one so far I think. Right now I'm dating someone and I do sense a little frustration with her getting something to eat and me sitting there. I even tried bringing along a protein bar or something else but I think it still puts a damper on things. We'll see.
  13. Has anybody here ever tried any food delivery services and had any luck? They claim that they're gluten free but when pressed, they're 100% everything else, but never claim to be 100% gluten free. Freshly is about the only one that made that claim but doesn't deliver to my part of the country. Bummer. Any thoughts or ideas out there?
  14. I am recently divorced and like most the people here, didn't always have celiac disease. I'm ready to get back out and start dating again but it is hard. I have no trouble talking to people and getting dates but then dinner comes up or snacks at the movies or drinks at a bar. celiac disease is probably my biggest challenge ever and it's asking a lot to ask...
  15. I had a rough time getting my diagnoses too. Hang in there but be firm with the doctors and insist that they do not write off any of your symptoms. In my case, I was dealing with the VA. I started out just having abdominal cramps one day but they were so strong I couldn't stand up straight. Then the weight loss started. I dropped 20lbs in 2 months even though...
  16. Chipotle has been a huge let down to me. Just sit back and watch then handle the spoons sometimes. The put rice on the flour tortillas by rubbing the spoon across it to spread the rice out and then dip that spoon right back in the rice. There's been a couple times the server had no clue what I was saying and now there is disclaimers starting to pop up on...
  17. Thanks for the help. Anything else you can think of, keep them coming. Another big question: Salad dressings. I tried using Organicville and kept having reactions. Come to find out it is processed on the same equipment, just on separate days than gluten containing products, What kind and brands are okay for dressings?
  18. Hi. I am new to the group and as mentioned above, was diagnosed 3 years ago. I continue to have set back after set back but. I will, for the first time after being diagnosed with celiac disease, have mt very own kitchen to make food in. I am looking to stock it up with safe foods. I got a lot of spices/herbs from Spicely's but I need help on some other things...
