Silver-naki replied to lovemyboy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
LOVE YAMS! Plain ole` Yams you buy in the Produce section at the Grocery Store are just excellent! My husband & I eat alot of these, & I have found, the best way to prepare them, is to wash them real good, cut off all the "scarred" or dark spots, wrap them well in Tin Foil, & Bake them in the Oven on 350* for about an hour & a half... -

Silver-naki posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just a tip here: I'm not sure if anybody has Posted in the past in regards to "Tom's of Maine" Natural care Toothpaste & Mouthwash, but I had heard about this stuff via the Internet. {it is all natural & "gluten-free."} Well... while out shopping at our local Wal-Mart the other day, I actually got lucky enough to hit-up on some of the "Tom... -

Silver-naki replied to gymnastjlf's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Good job here on the tip of the Pickles & Olives! So far, I have not shopped for pickles at Wal-Mart, but I just so happened to pick up some of their Wal-Mart "GREAT VALUE" brand Jumbo pitted Black Olives in the dark blue can. While reading the back of the label, under where it says: Marketed by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. it is plainly labeled "GLUTEN-FREE... -

Silver-naki replied to Silver-naki's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks here junieb! Gee, I had no idea there were so many brands of HOT-DOGS out there! My biggest problem {again} is living way out here in the Wild West, & our Store selections, & also "brands" are very scant, to say the least. But. The more I go out shopping, maybe I will find more brand-names that I never knew existed either! Now that... -

Silver-naki replied to nikki-uk's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have been reading the Posts here in regards to the topic of BIPOLAR. I have to agree with jknnej here, as this was excellent advise. The reason I can say this, is I am 100% disabled (on SSD disability) with BIPOLAR II disorder. I could sit here & write an huge NOVEL on the subject, and tell all of my "woes" and the horrors I've went thru... -

Hey there Rusla~ Thanks much for your Post----- Like I say, I haven't heard of a Trader Joe's, & if it's on the West Coast, I haven't heard of it either, because as you say, I am most definitely in the "Wild, Wild, WEST" out here where I live!! This is no joke... even the local Restaurants have "tumbleweeds" blown up against their buildings... -

Hey nini! A "Ted's Montana Grill?" Gee... wonder if they are from Montana?? Being raised in Montana, most of the industry is based around Tourism, so this is why the Buffalo meat is so popular. As I said in an earlier Post, they generally use 100% pure Buff meat, ..... at least most authentic places will. But. Nowadays, who's to say what folks... -

I found some ORGANIC {New!} Ragu Spaghetti Sauce. I purchased both the "traditional" & the "Garden veggie" in this Organic Ragu Sauce. In reading the label, it has no additives & no preservatives. According to RAGU, all ingredients in this are certified ORGANIC. I'm hoping this is safe, because if not, then my husband will be eating... -

Thanks for the Post here.... I'm originally from Montana, & yes, was very close to the border of Canada. I'm now in Idaho, so am about a 9-hour drive away from the Canadian border. I have never heard of the "Maple Leaf Top" hot-dog brands, so I looked it up on the Internet. It appears they are solely a Canadian based Company, and they didn... -
Hi again Everyone! I know since I first started Posting, the subject of "gluten-free" (and additive free) HOT-DOGS has come up. nini!!!!!!!! It's great hearing from you!! Thanks for the info here on the hot-dogs!!! Applegate Farms, huh? Hello Lisa! I always enjoy the Posts when someone gets on the board here... it helps to know about what others go thru, that's for sure. Hope the arthritis in your hand is much better. Hey Elonwy! Thanks for the Post here... I was so happy to hear you yourself lived in Montana and got the opportunity to try both Buffalo meat & Huckleberries! That's great!!! I grew up on this stuff, because it was a main "thing" on the Reservation where I'm from. In those days, it was both healthy & common. There are many Restaurants... -

Hi Lisa! Thanks for the Post here... gee, it sounds like you & I have things in common, with the small Town "thing" and all. Thanks for the Posted information here! We have a Chili's that is an hour's drive from us, and it is in a bigger Town, but I have never eaten there. I always wanted to try it. Now that I am gluten-free, this info on Chili's response to gluten-free request was quite informative for me. It gives me an idea of what to expect when I do go to try Chili... -

Hey nini! Thanks for the info on the Health Dept. reports... this is something I wasn't aware of, basically, because I never paid any attention to my DIET or any of the things we should be doing, until I had to go gluten-free!! Thanks Nancy for your Post here! The last time I went out to eat in Public, I had seriously thought about calling ahead to ask some questions and such, but I also felt very self-conscience about doing this too! But since I have been on the Forum here, I am seeing, that some of these "paranoia's" I have aren't ODD at all! I think what is "odd,"...
