  1. Hey Carole! Gee... THANKS here for the neat "flax" advice!! I'd never heard of doing this, so this would really be something for me to experiment with! Ok now, what's the difference between the "golden" flax and regular flax seeds??? I saw a box of (brown I believe) Flax seeds at Wal-Mart awhile back, & almost bought some, but didn't quite...
  2. Good topic here ---- > CONSTIPATION! Since I went "gluten-free," I have had problems with constipation & also much stomach "bloating." Before going gluten-free I had normal bowel-movements and after reading so much on the Forums here, I detected that RICE FLOURS and such things don't have alot of fiber to them. Even tho I eat alot...
  3. Thanks for the "tips" on these Products here folks! I had wondered often about some of these things myself, so this was quite insightful! Thanks much!!!
  4. TO: Alex This was an interesting Post here..... I feel so bad about you being Bipolar and all, and also the fact that you are wanting to have a child... gee, that's a tough "combo" there. I am disabled (on SSD disability) with Bipolar and have it severely. But. The difference is, I've never had a child, so I can't really be of much help to you...
  5. Hmmmm.... very interesting Post here on the Vision & Celiac~ I just had to go into "bifocals" this last Summer, and of course, there is always eye changes as a person ages... (so says the Optomotrist!) But in the last couple of months or so, I have noticed that my eyes seem to be getting bad again, & I'm having some trouble *seeing.* There...
  6. Thanks here for the info! I'm going to have to buy me a couple of Bread mixes, just to experiment with them..... I do know they sell the Bob's Red Mill brand in one of our local Super Markets here, so will look for some of this. When I went gluten-free, I had went to the Health Food Store, & stocked up on all the necessary FLOURS & things I needed...
  7. I'm still trying to "tie-in" the symptoms of Celiac & "gluten" with my horrendous sleep patterns... I haven't quite figured it all out yet, due to the fact, I'm still adjusting my DIET, & not being gluten-free yet for too long. I may have got "glutened" just last night, (even tho I watched what I ate!!) and I was ^up^ and awake ALL NIGHT...
  8. On the subject of Nightmares & bad dreams here... gee, I'm glad I'm not the only one who goes thru these "horrors!" But, I've always been one to dream vividly, but in the past 6-months or so, my dreams & Nightdmares are tremendous!! I've only been gluten-free for a short time now, but the other night, I had a dream that my Horse was talking...
  9. Gee THANKS here Peter!! You are very helpful, & I'm sure most of the folks on the Forums were wondering about all of this.. (I know I was!) Thanks for your help here!.... By the way, are you a Computer Programmer or anything?!! Laugh! (just kidding you here!) THANKS MUCH PETER!
  10. Glad you Posted about this .... I believe there was some problems with the Forums email Program, especially last night. One of my Forum buddies could NOT get all of my email message in I had sent, & only a partial one came thru. Hmmmm.... don't know what's up with it, must be having some Technical problems or something???? Maybe they'll get it fixed...
  11. Thanks here Kimberly! I have yet to try a Bread Mix... as I got so use to baking my own Bread in my Bread machine! As you will notice, the above Recipe I submitted does call for alot of YEAST, & I know some folks can't tolerate yeast---- One can cut the yeast down (in half) on that Recipe, but I find it works better with more yeast to it. ...
  12. YEAH DRAGON!!!! You got it!! Wonderful photo here... Loved it! Glad you were able to figure it out, & glad you got your Avitar! I was getting so mad trying to do all this, I was about ready to take a "sludge-hammer" to my Computer here! Laugh! Welcome aboard again!
  13. They have an Olive Oil "cooking spray" put out now by Kroger. I accidentally ran into this at the Grocery Store awhile back, & had not seen the Olive Oil in a spray can. In reading the ingredients labeled on the back, it has 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Soy Lechithin, Water & Propellant. "Kroger" brands are found in the Smith's Grocery Store chains...
  14. PAM... This was a great Post here, & very informative! I have the "night-sweats" really bad as well, but have attributed it to MENOPAUSE. I noticed only a slight change since I went "gluten-free," but am still wondering if maybe some of mine might be related to an autoimmune reaction/inflamation too? I have an Aunt who has Lupus, and Lordy...
  15. Hey Nettie! Are these the Wal-Mart "GREAT VALUE" brand? Comes in a box, right? I haven't tried any of the Potatoes Au Gratin yet, and your quick meal here sounds really yummy... I'll have to try it! I shop at good ole` "Wally~World" all the time... Thanks for the tip!!!
  16. Dang... I'd like to know about any of the LIQUID SMOKE flavorings too, because my husband & I "smoke & cure" our own meat, such as Wild Game, (Deer, Elk) and also fresh Trout. (fish) We also do our own Jerky meat as well. Most of the Liquid Smoke flavorings don't have alot of information posted on thier labels. Guess I'll have to look into this...
  17. MyKidsMom... Gee, I wish I could use "over-the-Counter" stuff, such as Excedrin Migraine, and things like that, but I never could "do" any of those types of things, because they always made me quite sick. I do have DARVON on hand, all the time too. I get the headaches severe enough, that I have to take something stronger. {sniff} You stated...
  18. Hey Dragon.... I'm no "Techno-Wizard" here or anything, but when you get into the photos on your Computer, and can't seem to figure out where the resize "button" is, try to convert your original picture into a .webp and re-do the picture. Go from there, and see if you can get it to upload into the Avatar setting. Don't ask me how I did mine, because...
  19. I've sat here this evening reading down through all the Celiac comments & ridiculous questions that people DO throw our way----- Needless to say, I've been LAUGHING MY HEAD OFF!!! ..... and just think folks, "my" Journey is just beginning!!! {...oh help me Jesus!} Thanks for sharing everybody.. these were great!
  20. DENISE~ This was great advise here, & I am glad you Posted. I am disabled, and also on SSD, and have been for a long time. But, I am not on it for celiac disease. I have Bipolar II disorder, but even so, ... if I would have been diagnosed with celiac disease earlier, & had gotten so bad like I am now, I would have filed for SSD for it. Yep...
  21. Hey Dragon~ I'm too darn NEW in the Forum here, and still getting use to the features on the Board to truly be of much help, but I had the same problem. I have no clue what might have happened to your old Avatar, but I got the "error" message when I was trying to upload as well. My PHOTO file SIZES were too big, & I had to go back into the Photos...
  22. Hi Folks! Been reading the Posts here about Sleeplessness~ ... also the "all over the body type of ITCH." Ain't it a bummer? Trust me, I have all of these symptoms, & have had for a long time. As for the not being able to sleep, I never associated it to "gluten," before I went gluten-free. Mainly, because I'm in full-blown MENOPAUSE right...
  23. Oooohhhh... Those dang MIGRAINE HEADACHES! I've suffered tremendously with MIGRAINES all of my life, since I was (5) years old. Yep. Years ago, they had no known "cure" for these things, (& very little help or Medical treatment) & my system was too sensitive to even take Asprin or Codeine or anything else. I was pretty much out of luck...
  24. THANKS SHIRLEY! ... Gee, everybody has given me some really great "tips" on various brands of Hot-dogs to look for! I will have to see what they have available in our area here~ Thanks!
