Hi there. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply back about this. I had a few busy weeks, which were also weeks I didn't feel well. But I finally called the Feosol company and the person on the phone did some digging and what they came up with is that their Feosol Complete is gluten-free. But he did not see any notes of their Original or Natural Release...

Thank you for that link. It was such a busy week and I've not felt well so I still never called the iron company yet. It's on my to-do list. I've been eating eggs, chicken, meat, and just got some spinach to make salads. I do take C when I take my iron pills. Right now I have been having some orange juice when I make eggs. I had been going easy on citrus...

I tested a low positive for celiac, but then they did more bloodwork and then said I don't have it, but I apparently do have a gluten sensitivity. It's been about two months going gluten-free, but I am finally started to feel some improvement with my stomach. I tend to always be low in iron my whole adult life, whether it's a little, or at times a...

Thank for posting this info.

Hi there, everyone. I have not been taking my iron supplements yet since realizing I have a gluten sensitivity, but I'm having a bad fatigue weekend and was hoping I could take one today. I just went online trying to find out if the supplements I have contain gluten, but couldn't seem to find info. I have a brand called Feosol. Their website has an 8...

Stomach Acid Issues
LilyR replied to LilyR's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
He's in Worcester, not to far from me. My primary care provider was wanting to send me out of state, but apparently my insurance is not covering that anymore. Great. But thank you for the article. -
Stomach Acid Issues
LilyR replied to LilyR's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thanks so much, everyone, for the links to articles and the help. It all feels overwhelming right now, and a bit scary. Sometimes I try to think....does my stomach feel like it's hot or burning...because I am not having the feeling of heartburn and rarely get the acid reflux (like I said, maybe once or twice a year at most, and I know it's when I ate something... -
Thanks for that info on "natural flavoring." That helps a newbie at this a lot.

safe Jams & Jellies
LilyR replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the replies. It's nice to hear you've both had Smuckers with good luck. Maybe I will try it. That must be hard at times, Ennis. having to avoid gluten and also sugar too. -
I was wondering if anyone has had issues with stomach acid before they were diagnosed, and if so, did the excess stomach acid got better after a few months of going no-gluten? Before my doctors suggested I go gluten-free, this past winter I was put on a prescription med (pantoprazole) for excess stomach acid. I have had heartburn in the past, sure,...

Sorry if this is old news, but I was looking for some jams or jelly to put on rice cakes with pb and so far I found a few brands that seem safe, gluten-free. http://www.bonnemaman.us/frequently-asked-questions/ And Welch's seem safe. But they have some licorce candies and other products that are not safe. But apparently all their jams...

Oh, and anyone had an issue with their pupils seem very small at times? I just realized this the past few weeks. A few times I have noticed my eyes don't look good, or normal. And I think I guess it shows in my eyes that I don't feel well. But I finally realized what looked odd was a few times my irises were so tiny. Even one day it was so cloudy and...

Thank you for the suggestions (and inspiration). I have been losing some weight, but my face still looks puffy and yes, I realized I think it's inflamation. It even feels stiff when it looks it's most puffy. I get redness too, and sometimes red lumps on my face that one dr told me was inflammation, but I also have photosensitivity, so realized the sun...

It's great having a place like this to share with others who are going through it. This website has been really helpful so far. At first I was trying to figure out what illness NCIS stood for. I'll blame it on being very tired today, lol! Then I remembered the NCIS joke earlier in this post....oh ya, the tv show! Ohh....I need another coffee.....

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I had a few days my fever started to get lower, but then it went back up and I got fatigue a few days, and now some stomach issues again. I did eat one gluten-free donut two days ago and my dr did tell me some people with gluten sensitivity have issues with corn products too,and there was corn in the donuts. It's weird...

Thanks for all that info and the links. It would be such a relief if I could know what is causing the fever, and that maybe it will go away as I stay gluten-free. Both my gastro dr and rheum dr said to still stay gluten-free even though I apparently don't have celiac. They are saying to give it 2-3 months to see how I feel then. My fever has been down...

Soft Drinks? What's the deal?
LilyR replied to pdm1981's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found a site that contains the ingredients on the Pepsi Ginger 1893 cola. It does not mention malt or malt extract. The website says it was updated July 2017. http://www.pepsicobeveragefacts.com/Home/product?formula=F0000004490&form=RTD&size=12 -

Maybe they changed the ingredients? So, as long as it has no malt, it should be okay? -

Thanks so much for that info. I guess I better get a different soda instead. Or maybe I'll just get some lime and seltzer and be on the safe side. -

I would love to try the soda stream recipe to make coca cola. It has like all citrus and spices in it, and it sounds so good. We got one for my daughter years ago, but the bottles were left drying too close to the stove one time and dented in a little, and I heard that if they get near heat they are no longer good (or safe, because of the plastic or whatever... -

Thanks for that info. I am grabbing one of those ginger Pepsi's when I grocery shop tomorrow. Thanks so much. I love water and drink that pretty much all the time all day long (and some coffee and tea), but in the hot summer sometimes even ice water just doesn't seem to quench my thirst. It's good to know we can have a soda once in a while. -
Well, in looking more into it, I saw this on Lipton Ice Tea's website: "While we don't currently make gluten-free label claims. none of the ingredients in our products are derived from grains or flours that have been linked to malabsorption syndrome associated with gluten sensitivity." For some reason that was mentioned in a FAQ about their...

Soft Drinks? What's the deal?
LilyR replied to pdm1981's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
So does caramel coloring or natural flavors usually not contain gluten in the US? I was curious too about sodas. I don't drink them often, but in the summer heat, once in a while I do like sipping on a very icy soda. There is this special Pepsi that is in a gold can with the year 1893 on it, and it's a ginger version of their soda that is so good. I love... -
Thanks for that advice. I have been gluten-free for two weeks now. Although about half way through, I accidentally had a small amount of gluten (hubby put some seasoning on his chicken that neither of us had checked the label, and come to find out it had wheat in it... and I ate some leftover the next day for lunch, not realizing he had even put different...
