Hi everyone. I have been looking online to try and get an answer about this. Is it possible that anything you lick such as stamps, stickers, or envelopes could possibly contain gluten or any other ingredient that might cause a bad reaction to you? I saw some sites say no, there is no gluten in them. Then I saw one blog that said yes, there could be. So...

I am so thankful for this message board. I would never have thought to check my shampoo. I have long hair and there are times i have woken up with one of my hairs in my mouth. I wonder if that really could cause any issues? Also, what about hair spray? That in particular because it's such a fine mist, you tend to breathe some in when you spray. This...

Thanks. That is good to know about the cocoa. I had just tried Nestle chocolate chips in a cloud bread cookie, and I am not sure if they bothered me. I think they are gluten free but I am wondering if anything else in them bothered me. I am having a rough few weeks. I am about to go back to basics soon and start over. When I first stopped...

Gluten Free Skincare and Beauty
LilyR replied to Miricole's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Anyone know of a good skin firming cream that you have okay results (as in not making you sick)? I keep losing weight, like none for a while, but then will lose some all at once, and I would love to find a cream for my neck. Also, has anyone used products from Weleda and been okay or had bad reactions? They have this on their website and so I am not...- 4 replies

White Rice Flour Baking Recipes? No Xanthan Gum?
LilyR replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thank you so much. That looks like a great variety. I will have to try some. I seem to get bloating with using too much almond flour (or eating nuts in general, not sure if it's the fiber), or foods and flours with lots of fiber. The soft almond butter cookies sound so good. What is xylitol though? And can you find it in grocery stores (what aisle) or do... -
I am trying to avoid corn products right now (and oats, soy, and ingredients like xanthan gum and guar gum). I also cannot seem to tolerate brown rice or rice bran. I was wondering if anyone has found or tried any baking recipes that use things like white rice flour, tapioca flour, potato starch, things like that - and that do not contain corn flour, xanthan...

Thanks. I do have some Hershey's at home, and just was checking to see what others have been happy with.

LilyR replied to Ennis-TX's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks so much for posting. I have been missing flavored coffees and will have to try some of these flavors. Sounds like a great way to get some fun flavors back. I am excited for you since you are so limited in your diet. So thankful for great tasting products that do not make us sick.- 9 replies

I haven't seemed to have issues with hamburg from the stores. But I had an issue with some frozen patties. I was getting Bubba Burgers, the angus ones in the black box and those were fine. Now the store stopped carrying those so I got the original (which comes in like a brown box) and the two times I had them, I got bad stomach distention and discomfort....

Are there any particular cocoa powders or dutch cocoa powders you have used that are gluten-free and you have not had any issues with? I saw this recipe that looks yummy maybe for Valentine's Day but was not sure if all cocoa powders are created equal when it comes to gluten issues or cross contamination? Same with chocolate chips? Here's the recipe...

gluten-free breads
LilyR replied to Lopez6amsell's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Some of the gluten-free breads seem to bother me and it seems to be because they have ingredients like brown rice and such. Apparently I am okay with white rice and white rice flour, but brown rice and rice bran bother me a lot. But I have been eating pita bread and rolls from a brand called Against the Grain. They use ingredients like white rice flour and... -
Chapstick Brand
LilyR replied to minibabe's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the replies, everyone. It helps a lot because my lips are getting horrible and i see that EOS brand in all the stores so I'll grab some tomorrow.I'm not sure I've seen the Eco one. I was just about to go look up Vaseline as worst case scenario. I like Badger too, but wanted to wait and order from them a little after the holidays and get more sunscreen... -
Chapstick Brand

I was just coming here to ask people what lip balms or chap sticks you use that seem safe. I have been using Burt's Bees pomegranate flavor lip balm lately and have been having stomach issues, so it just dawned on me I better check it out. I see that some posts here people are saying they use Burts Bees with good results, but I looked online at their FAQ... -
Underwood Deviled Ham spread
LilyR replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I will go dig out the recipe later and post it. I only have a few minutes online and then I'm heading to a dr's appt. The dip has cream cheese, red and green peppers chopped up, stuff like that. My family loves it. My issue is about whether the deviled ham is gluten-free, and also finding gluten-free crackers. Some gluten-free products like that bother... -
Hi there. I was wondering if anyone here eats Underwood Devil Ham? I saw some articles online that make it sound like it's gluten-free, but I emailed the company and this is what they said: "Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Underwood. We always appreciate hearing from our consumers who reach out to us with their comments and questions...

Thanks for the info. I think I'll go ahead and order it while it's still on sale and just be aware if I notice any problems with it. Good reminder to always wash hands too, and I don't tend to put the facial sunscreen near my lips. Thanks for that link. I had not even seen that on their website yet. I saw a page about gluten-free products and it made...

Hi there. I was just about to order my usual and favorite sunscreen since it's on sale. I noticed the website has a gluten-free section (It's Badger) and it says their sunscreen has gluten. Does anyone know if we need to avoid these types of topical skin care products? I will be so upset, since this is my favorite sunscreen. I have photosensitivity,...

Thanks. That list gave me some brands to try that have no corn. I need to check some stores around town to see what they all have, but might have to order some things. I did just get some pita pockets at the store (Market Basket) in the frozen section and they have no corn, brown rice, or rice bran, thankfully. I haven't tried them yet, but on Halloween...
-
Where is your list? Was that also in the recipe section or a different section? That has got to be really freaky having such a corn reaction. I am glad you have found good foods to eat you are okay with.

Is there a brand name of those rice tortillas? That sounds good. I"d love to find a wrap or tortilla or bread or something that has no corn product in it. I looked up the Enjoy Life stuff. It doesn't mention on amazon that there is no corn in it, but when you read the ingredients on your boxes, is there no corn ingredient, including no xantham gum? It...

Do You Take Tylenol (Extra Strength)?
LilyR replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was thinking about it this morning and I was thinking it does almost seem like I somehow had some gluten. I just can't think from what though. But I lost 2 pounds the past few days and that is what seems to happen when I get glutened - I ge the bad stomach issues, but also lose a few pounds quickly. When I react to other things, like possibly corn, I... -
Do You Take Tylenol (Extra Strength)?
LilyR replied to LilyR's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks for the replies. I am allergic to ibuprofen (hives). I used to take aspirin, but have stopped since having tummy troubles because I've heard it's harsh on the stomach. I used to be able to take Tylenol, but it just never helped much, so I rarely took it. I am hoping that is what has caused my stomach issues the past few days. But I am not... -
That all sounds so good. That would be great to sell items with no grain, but also something diabetics could have also.
-
I was wondering how many people here can take Tylenol Extra Strength with luck, and how many cannot take it. My stomach is not doing well. It's been that big, hard bloated issue, and some stomach ache on and off the past few days. Only things I can think of that were different the past few days was I did have some apple cider, and I've also been taking...
