    Oh yeah, Tiffany, totally forgot about Oakland. I grew up in Fresno - and then lived the sleepy tourist burg of Monterey for many years - - driving in San Francisco has always, I believe every single time until the last few years, had me in tears..... a total nightmare for the non-native! and jayhawk is from Kansas!!

    Well, here's a tip I can give you about travel. See if there is ANY way possible you can fly into the San Jose airport (about a 1/2 hour south of Palo Alto) instead of San FRancisco - - - that place, and driving out of there, is a freaking nightmare!!!     Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh that is good news, miss Click Clack......I'm so relieved! Dang, she's going to miss so much in our GFPCF (gluten-free paradise cult farm), she will have SO much reading to do.... Patti - horrid weather here and there - we're 112 - - not raining, just so sticky. Rachel likes the heat but there will be NO days hotter than 85 degrees...

    hmmm.....what an idea.....I'll ponder this....I do have a very active imagination and a vivid thought life.....I have to say, even when alone, I crack myself up and am so easiliy entertained..... everyone gets so serious and smarty-smart with their science lessons sometimes I fear I'll be kicked out of R-ville for too much goofiness - - -may it never...

    Hi susie, and welcome. Yes, gluten intolerance can be hereditary, or developed over time, from what I understand. Celiac is a genetic auto-immune disease. All of the things you describe sound strongly Celiac-linked. I would suggest you keep researching Celiac, and read this board and digest as much as you can. There are so many brilliant people here...

I don't think it can be good - - can you call your doctor? You need to contact someone about it, I think.....I don't know what this can do to the body - - short-term you may be...

    that is so wonderful, Tanya! I'm always encouraged when people actually LISTEN to us, from our experiences, and actually remove gluten - - no small or easy task. What a blessing , that your friend's daughter is expecting! We've just got to continue to get the word out, as much as possible - without being obnoxious....

    All good ideas Amybeth....but we must also make them understand our PAIN and SUFFERING while having these big food parties!!! I wonder if we should make the gluten-free food we serve them taste really ghastly, so they feel even MORE sorry for us?
