  1. bought one of these the other day Open Original Shared Link reason i didn't get a "real" bag hanging from the ceiling is i wasn't allowed to drill holes into the ceiling lol. so i got this instead. JUNK!! well maybe not total junk, it'll do for now. i punch pretty ferociously and find i'm moving the whole unit, like 3 feet in one direction after...

  4. kitchenaid here too, it's great! no attachements yet, but i have the meat grinder/stuffer on order. --matt
  5. that natural food market lately blows. going there is like going to canadian tire on victoria street, #%(*#&% useless. they never have what i want, but they DO have the highest prices i've found. modism, do you have wheels? eating well is definitely the place to go, but personally overall i think basic bulk in fredrick mall has the cheapest prices...
  6. besides me made up a batch today, they tasted great. i just have the hand grinder/stuffer which really frustrated me today, so i went and ordered the grinder/stuffer attachments for my kitchenaid. anyone have any recipes to recommend? this was what i did today: -3lbs ground beef -1tbsp canning salt -1tbsp dried parsely flakes -1/4tsp dried...
  7. i really miss my fajitas!! haven't been able to find a GOOD gluten/dairy free shell alternative, does anyone have something to recommend? --matt
  8. since my "normal" oven has been in-op, i've been using my toaster oven until my new oven arrives. nothing seems to be baked evenly or properly, and cooking times vary. has anyone else experienced this with using a toaster oven, or is it just that i have a crappy toaster oven? anyone care to speculate WHY this is happening? i'm thinking when you preheat...
  9. zehr's sells sushi nori rolls cut up at their seafood counter here in kitchener-is there a zehr's near you? unsure about their ingrediants as i don't buy them...i make my own, and leave the rice out, just because i don't like the taste. --matt
  10. tried this recipe today in my toaster oven. i melted the chocolate and butter in a "normal" pan, worked fine. thanks for the explanation on the double boiler! ummm, as for taste, i don't think i'll make this again although it's decent-the "yummy brownies," posted the other day taste much better! --matt
  11. what the heck is a double boiler? how abouts if i just melt the chocolate & butter in a normal pan-what's the advantage of this double boiler machine. i don't mind buying one if it's a good "investment." --matt
  12. ok here's the scoop, my oven is on the blink. piece of poop. the lower coil is intermittant, so this is probably why i've been having trouble baking the last few days!! so i ordered a new fridgidaire range this afternoon, should be in next week. guess i'll be using the toaster oven until then... after the brownies cooled in the pan, everything has...
  13. hey betty i just made your brownies!! i chopped up some chocolate and threw those in, but minused the walnuts. ran into a little problem though, i baked it for 25mins, flipped it onto a cooling rack, and the bottom 2/3 was mush. wtf! scooped it all back into the pan, and now it's baking...again. is the recipe complete? think it should be put in the fridge...
  14. picked up some formula this morning, thx! --matt
  15. went to the ener g site, and they directed me to a local grocer here who carries it. 6 blocks from my house, i'd never heard of it before lol --matt
  16. hey lollie, i just made your bread!!! is it ever goooooood! mmmm, mmm!! i let it stand 5mins before baking, cut the salt to 1/2 tsp (next time i'll cut it out entirely i think) used tofutti dairy free sour cream, and was about 1/4cup short on the corn starch. also i made it in a 5x9 loaf pan instead of rolls, took 20mins, but is a bit wet, which i...
  17. bette hagman calls for this stuff in a lot of recipes, but i have been unable to locate it locally. where can i get it online? is there a substitute i can use, like REAL eggs? if so, what would be the ratio of egg replacer to real eggs? TIA --matt
  18. looking for a non-dairy dry milk powder substitute. anyone know of one? --matt
  19. i have crohn's and get scoped yearly, and have had them done since 1990-ish. you kinda get used to it. besides phospho as was mentioned there is a jug you can buy and just add water, i believe it's called "colonite." i used it once like 10yrs ago, but much prefer the phospho myself since you only need to drink a little bottle of the stuff, rather then...
  20. have a link? --matt

    ARCHIVED Hydroxycut

i used these about 3 yrs ago, combined with a diet & exersize program. worked well, but i gained all the weight back that i lost, once i stopped the pills. NFG IMO!! i've since lost the weight and kept it off eating a balanced diet and an exersize program....no need to spend $100+/month on pills. --matt
  23. there was a program on tv about this a few weeks ago, apparently it's actually quite popular, a lot of ppl are taking it up. good for your sex life too karen you look just fine in your avatar pic btw --matt
  24. i have a bread maker but never use it. it's a black & decker and seems to work well though in any case. easier just to go to the store and spend the $0.99 on a loaf of rice bread....consistancy is always the same, and it's always available --matt
  25. does this recipe taste decent without the frosting? i've tried a few brownie recipes without frosting and they're never any good....just don't want to waste my time again --matt
