I tried that but it wasn't enough. Liquid Iodine drops. In the 1970s, the median urinary iodine (UI) level in the United States was 320 mcg/L, which indicated adequate dietary iodine intake. However, the median UI level dropped by 50% between the 1970s and 1990s. This decline was likely due to a decrease in salt and egg consumption and the removal...

Looks like you are doing everything right as far as food choices. Throughout the day I use Red Bull for my energy calories. Red Bull is sugar water and the vitamins needed to process into energy plus Taurine an antioxidant. "Your body uses taurine for several different functions." Your body makes its own taurine, but you can also get it through...

Talk to your doctor about getting the blood work done as soon as possible. Today would be good. If they come back as Celiac you could put off the endoscopy and do an endoscopy later after a Gluten Challenge. But, many find they are more sensitive to gluten after being gluten free for a while. At this point the only reason for delay is getting a GI...

Each of your symptoms could be caused by Celiac Disease and the malnutrition it causes. What are the chances of having GAD, OCD, Asthma, GERD, Ulcerative Colitis, bloating and lots of gas from the back end and the front end, loose stool that came with mucus and undigested foods, anxiety has been super high, thin stool, hair tends to fall out, odd aches and...

The only way is to keep a food journal, ingredients and quantity and calculate your daily intakes. "Eating the rainbow" is a nice panacea but is just guessing. Blood tests show blood level, not cellular content. Shows how accuracy in words is important. One souce says "high levels of TgAb (≥40 IU/mL) are linked to increased rates of thyroid cancer)....

I agree. A new disease was identified, Non Celiac Gluten or Wheat Sensitivity, about 10 years after Norman Borlaug received his Nobel Prize in 1970 for starting the Green Revolution with the modern wheat. Many of the same symptoms, but not proven yet to be autoimmune. Not long after starting GFD in 2014 I hit a plateau. Turned out to be numerous... -

One of the most commonly reported side effects of benfotiamine is gastrointestinal discomfort. This can manifest as nausea, bloating, and stomach pain. In some individuals, these symptoms may be accompanied by diarrhea or constipation. Benfotiamine is a synthetic derivative of thiamine to improve the bioavailability of thiamine, which is fat-soluble...

Gas with yellow jelly
Wheatwacked replied to Malc1155's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If I don't get enough Thiamine I get a cramp in one or both feet after sleeping for an hour and a half. Get up, do this that or the other and can go back to sleep for another hour and a half. Now taking 250 mg 1 to 3 times a day and it doesn't happen. It took a while to figure out. Also since adding liquid iodine 500-1500 mcg a day, many things are... -
Must not have seen this: Taking vitamin B6 in doses of 100 mg daily or less is generally considered to be safe. Vitamin B6 is possibly safe when taken in doses of 101-200 mg daily. In some people, vitamin B6 might cause nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, headache, and other side effects. I think this is what we've been saying. Avoid...

Flagyl, doxicyclin and ciproflaxine can cause anaphalaxis. Prednisone does not. In fact Corticosteroids are thought by some to prevent it and are commonly used in the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis.

Celiac Disease can mimic over two hundred diseases and symptoms. How long have you been gluten free? Seems to me they are over treating you with everything just because they don't accept your Celiac Diagnosis. Sounds counterproductive. What happens if you don't take it? Why did they put you on Invecta, did they find parasitic worms...

I am unsure, did the breathing issue start with eating gluten free, or was that the reason you were tested for Celiac? Shortness of breath can be a symptom of thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency, particularly when accompanied by other symptoms. Vitamin D deficiency can cause breathing symptoms in children and adults. Since Celiac Disease...

My friend had cataract surgery that failed. The surgeon blames her for moving during the surgery. If Ashleysue can wait for the surgery until the surgeon has an opening in his schedule, she can wait to see her response to GFD. I was taking 30mg prednisone a day just to get out of bed. Post GFD I am painfree.

Please do delay the surgery on your back. All of my back pains went away on GFD and vitamins. About 25% of back surgery patients need repeat surgery. There are many nutrients, as @knitty kitty mentioned that can contribute to pain. Celiac Disease causes malabsorption, over time leading to malnutrition. I also have no energy after...

Toddler recently diagnosed coeliac with bone oedema
Wheatwacked replied to RK37's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Welcome to the forum @RK37, My son was diagnosed in 1976 as soon as he was weaned. His doctor prescribed Nutramigen. They have a product for toddlers. Scary enough the Celiac, much less the complications. Celica Disease causes malabsorption of the twenty odd vitamin and minerals absorbed by the small intestine. So it causes malnutrition... -

Your next step is to undo the malnutrition. The damage done to your small intestine villi causes malabsorption and so over the years nutrient difficiencies get worse and those symptoms add another level. Unfortunately, western medicine treats symptoms, not cause. With gluten gone as the cause, you have to replenish your vitamins and minerals...

Hello @olioil, Once you have removed the gluten from your diet you have started on recovery. Some people have a withdrawal period for a few weeks. "In particular, these short peptides showed a morphine-like activity and high affinity for the δ-opioid receptor ... Gluten exorphins (GEs) are a family of small peptides (four/five amino acids) derived ...

Regardless of the testing, I think you have adequately proven to yourself that you have gluten sensitivity. If the endoscopy is negative, that is at the least Non Celiac Wheat Sensitivity. I wonder how much of NCGS (10% of the population vs. 1% are diagnosed Celiac) is the result of chromosones added modern Green Revolution hybridizing? NCGS...
