  1. I, too, was terrified of the endoscopy. It really freaked me out. I told the nurses and doctors I was frightened and they gave me more sedative. During the procedure I could not have cared less and actually don't remember much of it. Just tell your doctor your fears before hand. I did take a 6 hour nap afterwards though. Are the red spots on your legs...
  2. I emailed the company so I guess I will wait for a response. I usually use Newmans Own Marinara but I was in a hurry, not a smart thing because I have been ill now for 4 days. The list I have says only the traditional is gluten-free for Prego. I am really bummed though about missing the trip, my husband made reservations for a very nice hotel next to an...
  3. I made a pizza using Prego garlic and herb sauce and also had some on pasta. First came the dizzy spells and now the diarrhea. I was supposed to go on an overnighter with my husband (Angel game) but I am too sick to go, he went by himself. . I thought it was the water pills but I checked with the pharmacy and it was corn starch in the ingredients although...

  5. I had to fight with my doctor and insurance company to get me an appointment with a dietian. I had to wait 2 weeks for the appointment. That day I forgot all about it. I called crying, I could not believe I missed the one appointment I though I might finally get some help. She was nice and forgiving and rescheduled it for me. oh, and I have never been...
  6. I just bought the Kinnikinick white sandwich bread over the internet and today had my first sandwich in along time! I toasted the bread first and kept the other ingredients in baggies then made it when I wanted to eat it so it would not be soggy. I also had some potato chips and precut carrots and celery sticks. Also my favorite is Thai soup bowls. I...
  7. Got sick today so I bought some Imodium Advanced instead of the usual Imodium AD by accident. the ingredients mention "sodium starch glycolate". From what I can tell it is mostly derived from potato but CAN be wheat. Does anyone know for sure?
  8. I have a Kitchenaide with the pasta attachments but I used to always make my own pasta (wheat) so I am afraid to use it since it is contaminated. Does anyone know the best way to clean it?

    ARCHIVED Dizziness/vertigo

I think I may know what is causing it. I took a prescription water pill that is generic and one of the ingredients is starch but I have to check with the pharmacy to see if they know what kind. I am also starting hormone therapy.
  10. I just came back from my gyno as I was having hot flashes, etc thinking I was getting close to "THE change". She put me on "continuous hormone therapy". I use a Nuvaring (a hormone ring you insert and leave for 3 weeks). After three weeks I use another and again the next 3 weeks. Then I remove for a week and use an estrogen patch until I use another ring...

    ARCHIVED Thirst

I would talk to your doctor about this symptom. Excessive thirst is a symptom of diabetes. Have you had your blood sugar levels checked?

    ARCHIVED Dizziness/vertigo

I, too, woke up with vertigo this morning. I am standing and I feel like I am going to fall over. The hardest part is to not nod when talking to someone! I was thinking it may be because it is "that time" and maybe I am low on something like iron? I am going to see my gyno tomorrow, right now she is the only doctor I trust, and see what she thinks.
  13. Actually wheat, corn and soy are common allergens for dogs. There is quite alot of people who feed a BARF (bones and raw food) to their dogs. All natural raw meat and veggies and rice. I have two boxers who have bad allergies!
  14. What types of foods are you having trouble with? I find we can eat alot of the foods we ate before with slight modifications. I love to cook and so maybe I can help you with some new recipes? I go to costco and buy alot of staples in bulk so I don't have to shop so often. I am sure there are others who have good food suggestions too.
  15. I wonder about Carls jr low carb $6 burger. It is so good, the best fast food burger I have had yet. I haven't gotten sick from it yet so I am hoping it is ok. I love the way they wrap it in lettuce and you get to eat it like a burger! (not like the others where they give you a fork and knife)
  16. My dietitian told me to stay away from dairy for a minimum of one month. Because we have done so much damage to our intestines they are unable to process lactose until they heal. I know how hard that is since I am a cheese freak!!! I did have a grilled cheese sandwich and my symptoms returned (not too bad though). I am still not ready for dairy, sigh...
  17. My doctor has me taking Prilosec. I, too, never had heartburn but he said my esophogus was pretty bad

    ARCHIVED Dizziness/vertigo

I had severe vertigo before I went gluten-free. I still have some small spells every once in awhile. I wonder if it is from accidental gluten ingestion?
  19. I get shaky too if I haven't eaten. I do know I am VERY sugar sensitive. I can't have too much or not enough.
  20. I think I will try the nut mixture too. Do you use raw nuts? Fresh fruit smoothie sounds good too. I have some flax seed meal that I was experimenting with in breads and some honey and raw almonds. All I need is some smaller nuts and coconut flakes. Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, I love avocados too. And salmon and fresh tuna (I hate canned) Oh,...
  21. I am not sure where to post this so I am posting here. I am having alot of trouble with vitamins making me ill (they say gluten free but.....) and am still dairy free. I feel as though I am not getting enough nutrients (spinach cravings again). What foods (natural) can I eat that have the most vitamins without all the "side effects". Green leafy veggies...
  22. Good luck Karen. I am glad that you are getting some positive feedback. I have been on that diet before too. I think I ate alot of rice, chicken, and sweet potatoes. Its all worth it if it makes you feel better. I hope you feel better soon!
  23. I get this pain too. When I had my endoscopy they found a hiatal hernia and ulcers on my esophogus from reflux which is causing my pain. I also get some pain when swallowing at times, like the food is getting stuck (which it is).
  24. I love Amy's pizza. The first time I had it I ate the whole thing. I added a little of grated parmesean and romano. The health food store ran out and they promised me they would order some today and hold 2 for me. Yeah! Now when my family wants pizza I can have some too. Oh, the little things.
  25. Good luck Karen! My prayers and good thoughts are with you too!!
