  1. When the doctor gave me the results of my endoscopy he hesitated like he wasn't sure then said no I did not have celiac. I don't know what the hesitation was because I havent seen the results myself. I have so many symptoms I really wonder and it could not hurt to try and hopefully I will feel better. So far nothing else has worked and I already have had...
  2. Before I had mine done I was really nervous. I told the doctor that when I went in and he gave me a little more sedative. It was very easy, I had no problems. Afterwards I went home and slept for about 12 hours.
  3. This is a very interesting topic. Is this the small as small bowel bacterial overgrowth. My GI keeps mentioning it as a possibility. I have never been able to tolerate sugar, pure sugar makes me very nauseated. I had a month of relief with flagyl and about a week of relief after a small bowel follow through. I have been researching this topic just this...
  4. I had heard that carbonated beverages can make diarrhea worse and also the caffeine. But if it doesnt seem to affect you then enjoy! I have insurance and a GI but I still don't know what is wrong (almost a year now). He doesn't seem too interested in my diet ("Foods are triggers not causes" he tells me) and since he is trying to find the cause the triggers...
  5. Well my biopsy came back negative for Celiac so the search for the cause of my problems continues. Tuesday I have a small bowel follow through then a CT scan of pelvic and abdomen. I am at such aloss, not knowing what is wrong has been horrible. The last couple of weeks have been miserable, no matter what I do I still get sick. Thanks so much to everyone...
  6. I have been doing fairly well on the low residue diet that someone on this board suggested. Keep yourself from getting dehydrated. I drink gatoraide and have pedialyte on hand for emergencies. I seem to be living on potatos and baked chicken. My doctor just switched me to donnatal, I haven't tried it yet so I don't know if it works. It has a sedative...
  7. I know exactly what you are going through! I am going through the same thing. I was so very sick this week and not only could I not talk to the doctor I could not even talk to a nurse. After 3 days of trying I called my primary care doctor and had them run interference for me. They could not tell me about celiac since it wasn't mentioned in the report...
  8. I had mine on Thursday. I am pretty sick too but I think it has more to do with being untreated for whatever undiagnosed problem I have. I am trying the low residue diet to see if it helps. Potatoes and rice are a staple for me as well as jello and yogurt. I, too, am missing work. Of course it waits for me so when I do stay home I can not relax because...
  9. I have never heard of a low residue diet before. I looked it up on the internet and it seems to be something that will be good for me. Open Original Shared Link Thanks so much, at least I have something to start with. I have a call into the doctor right now too Thanks
  10. I don't know how I am supposed to last two weeks for the results on my tests. I had an endoscopy on Thursday (piece of cake by the way, thanks for all the encouragement ). I have a hiatal hernia and ulcer which I had no clue because all my problems are below the stomach. My intestines hurt so bad I feel like I ate razors, the pain is unbearable, it doubles...
  11. I dont go back to the doctor until May 7th . I guess I just get to suffer until then. The only thing he said so far is to stay away from coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and spicey foods. The pain when I swallow hurst alot. It doesnt happen all the time, just occasionally. The food gets stuck and I have painful spasms until the food is able to go down...
  12. Robin, I just had my endoscopy yesterday and the results surprised me. I have a hiatal hernia and ulcers. Now the only problem I have had in my upper gi tract is pain swallowing. Now I know why. A friend has a hernia too and he said sometimes it is so bad he feels like he is having a heart attack. As far as the ulcer I had no clue. I dont have heartburn...
  13. I am waiting for my results as well. Endoscopy this Thursday. I, too, just want an answer. Just tell me what to do to feel better and I will do it. I am sick of being sick. I sometimes get painful spasms in my throat when swallowing. I have noticed it usually happens with bread products or pasta. It really hurts and I can not talk until it goes away...
  14. I am in the same boat except my IgG is high. My doctor says it is inconclusive. I am having an endoscopy on Thursday and have to wait two weeks for the results.
  15. I dont know why but I am freaking out about the endoscopy. I asked for lots of drugs, lol. I know I have to have it done but I have such a huge gag reflex, I don't know I am just afraid. I am also worried they won't find anything and I will be sick forever. No matter what the results afterwards I am going to limit my carb intake. Either celiac or small...
  16. Hi Christine, I have not been diagnosed with Celiac, just a possibility since my tests were inconclusive so I am by no means very knowledgable on this subject. I do know that I tried the Adkins diet for about a week and had the same flu like symptoms, chills and pain. I wonder if it is related to not enough carbs in the diet? Maybe try healthy carbs...
  17. I find organic peppermint tea helps.
  18. I just came back from the doctor. The debilitaing dizzy spells for 2 weeks!!! has been caused by a viral infection of both ears. Medication, fluids, rest and I should be better. I still have the tummy issues and endoscopy in 4 weeks to test for celiac and carcinoids but the relief that its a simple ear infection has given me such a relief. Thanks so much...
  19. Wow, thanks so much. I feel much better. I ate a sandwich last night and oh did I suffer! Bloated up so much I thought I would explode. I am really starting to see a pattern with the gluten ingestion and symptoms. I am going to see my GP for the dizzy spells, I wonder if it is caused by an ear infection which makes me nervous and intensifies my symptoms...
  20. Had my visit with my GI today after doing the celiac panel. He said it was inconclusive so endoscopy is scheduled on March 18th. I have just started having dizzy spells and what he called "flushing". I am also being tested for carcinoids. He said my symptoms seems severe enough that my test results should have been higher for celiac. Right now I am praying...
  21. Thanks for your reply Judy. I just don't know what to do anymore. I am afraid of food, I am down 15 lbs and starting to lose again. If I only knew what to avoid and what I can have. When I stopped eating sandwiches for lunch, the afternoon brain fog went away. I always thought it was more from bad air in the building I work in. The ventillation is...
  22. My symptoms became very severe around July of this year. I have what I call an "attack". I start feeling dizzy, cramping, diarrhea. My blood pressure shoots up and I become very emotional and tired. The foggy head will last for hours. I am almost positive it is a reaction to food of some kind. My whole body seems to want to get rid of it. I dont get...
