  1. I had that happen to me once when I was in high school. I tried to pick up a book and dropped it and didn't realize why until I tried to pick it up again and realized that I couldn't feel my thumb... It went from the tip of my thumb to my wrist and lasted for about 8 weeks, I think... I still have no idea what caused it. I just figured I had carpal tunnel...
  2. Well, I've had mono twice, once when I was about 5 and again when I was 16 so the likelihood of it being mono is really slim since it's rare to ever have it more than once. I was also sick before going gluten free because I had my biopsy on March 13 then didn't get my diagnosis until a couple of days after I got sick which wasn't until the begining of April...
  3. Here's the link... hope it's helpful. Open Original Shared Link
  4. O.k. I'm freaking out and don't know what to do... I've been sick for over a month now. It started out as a sinus infection and the doc put me on antibiotics but I kept getting worse instead of better. My doc took me off the antibiotics, after I had a bad reaction to the second round, and thinks this is just a virus. My sinus symptoms are gone, but my...
  5. I had that problem a lot throughout high school but I was just recently diagnosed with Celiac. Since my diagnosis I've been thinking that's what caused it. I never did figure out what was wrong. I was told that it was all in my head or that I was anorexic. I especially had problems with dairy. Usually, it would last for a couple of months especially...
  6. I had hellish periods from the very beginning. I used to pass out in the shower from pain on the first day of my period almost every month through high school. I had EXTREMELY hevy bleeding (went thru 9 OB Ultra tampons in one school day and the doc said "eh, it's a little heavy.") I dropped out of college in November 2001 after the cramps and fatigue...
  7. LOL!!! Well, I have my own opinion on "vegetarians who eat poultry." No matter what they say They're Not Vegetarians! They're just people who don't like most other types of meat!
  8. I'm so excited I had to share this with everyone. Maybe you already know... My non-gluten-free friends just laughed at me I had my first visit with the dietician today and she had just recently gone to a conference where they were handing out sample boxes from kinnikinnick. It came with a chocolate cake mix, pancake mix, lemon cranberry cookies...
  9. Is she Vegan? Because I would love to just say, "Well, if I'm picky, what does that make you?" I know... Childish... but sometimes you just want to say it, don't you? I'm sorry she's being so awful... I wish there were more I could do for you.
  10. I drove past Krispy Kreme today and they smelled so good!!!! I about died! I've been craving just about every recipie I know made with Campbell's Cream of Mushroom... and chocolate cake... Never liked bread, but I could eat chocolate cake like anyone else eats bread....
  11. Wow! All of you are so strong for making it through this long! I'm still new to Celiac and never had many symptoms but I felt the same way for years about Endometriosis. I would pass out in pain every month and was anemic from blood loss (and celiac?) to the point that they threatened transfusions. I've always been sick, though. I was always labled...
  12. I too have dealt with a lot of friends and coworkers who labled me a hypochondriac but it was mostly with my endometriosis. I haven't had any major celiac sympotms so that hasn't been an issue for me. I found that the easiest thing to do was to accept that my relationship with someone had changed. There are some people who were once close friends that...
  13. Thanks for all the advice. Tuna was one of the things I already kept in my car (with boxes of tuna helper... ) I tried a couple of the Amy's frozen meals and they were really pretty good! Things are finally starting to settle down at work so I actually get a little bit of time off each week! Yay! Hopefully that will help and I can start cooking and...
  14. I'm seriously missing Subway, too . I have two thoughts for you, I bought this little thermos thing at Bed Bath & Beyond. It's light weight and has a little fork/spoon combo thing in the lid. It's handy because I can microwave it before I leave then stuff it in my backpack. Another thought I had doesn't have much to do with food in general, but do...
  15. HI All! I just wanted to say how much great information I have found on here and how glad I am that there is a site so dedicated to this disease! I also have Endometriosis and never found an endo site with so many supportive and informed members. Well, I was officially diagnosed with Celiac about two weeks ago after having an endoscope in March. I...
  16. I'm new and have only been (almost) gluten-free for about 2 weeks now but I have already had a gluten dream. Mine was a little different, though. In my dream my customer (I work with developmentally disabled people) and my mother were both eating all kinds of cereal and oatmeal and things. So, for the rest of the dream, I was screaming at them to stop...
