  1. I have yet another reply......this one is from Heniz:
  2. When I get the stomach pains, I find that there isn't all that much I can do, except wait it out. When they get really severe, I, like Karen, like to rock back and forth.......I also cope by lying on my bed hunched over..........
  3. Good to know, Linda........that's one of the products I haven't had a chance to try.
  4. Oh, also, Skittles and Starburst are gluten-free (except for those new starburst "creme" things)..........also some company like Glutano makes a gluten-free candy that's supposed to taste just like Kit-Kats.......it's a specialty food, though, therefore, expensive.....I'd stick with mainstream brands.
  5. Definitely..........when my problems were mysterious, I first had the family doctor, then was sent to a GI, and once it was pinpointed, to a celiac doc........start broad with a GI and zero in once you find out for sure if the problem is celiac disease or if it's something else. You can attempt a gluten-free diet without being tested, cause if you feel...
  6. Oooooh.....lessen reactions......that sounds GREAT! I'd be leary of a "miracle pill" that allowed the ingestion of wheat, but I think a pill to lessen reactions would be great!......especially since some people get so bad with gluten that they need to go to the hospital..........that's terrific, thanks for sharing, Kristina
  7. It does seem fairly common (although i don't think i have additional intolerances or any allergies).............
  8. I don't know......some people asked about greater sensitivity to regular sicknesses (flu, stomach virus, some other thing) and a few people mentioned that we don't have a greater sensitivity to that......I don't know if this also applies to allergies, or not, but that's what I based my inference on.
  9. Well, I know that an advanced member is thirty, and I believe that that is when you're allowed to upload your own picture as an avatar.
  10. Foods By George: I just tried their crumb cake........REALLY EXPENSIVE, though......$10.99 for a package the same size as their brownies....small! If you like crumb cake, though, this one is better than the real thing, in my opinion. Oh, by the way, I had been looking for a long time, where I could get Foods By George products online....couldn't find...
  11. I don't think so.....somebody made some post about getting sick by walking through those grasses, or something.......so I think not, but somebody else can tell you for CERTAIN.
  12. Oh, okay........sorry, I didn't realize that you were running tests....
  13. It definitely varies for each person, but this is generally what it is: Doctors have varying opinions on how long it takes for you to get yourself "glutened" up for a test........most usually say 1-3 months......at least one month, though, unless you do a really good job at eating tons of gluten......oh, I should mention, this is 1-3 months eating two...
  14. Wow......all the gluten? So did you have regular pasta when you got home?
  15. Wow.....also a good job by you, though, to be conscious of this possiblity and check the label.........this is a good warning to everyone that manufacturers DO change their ingredients.......or maybe it contained traces before and they didn't tell you.........who knows?
  16. Don't go back......you're supposed to have at least about a month on gluten........eat at least 1-2 meals a day that contain gluten.....it's for the benefit of the test, although eating gluten again is a test in itself..........if you feel good without gluten, I think that's enough to keep you on the diet no matter what any doctor says.
  17. Yeah, that's good to have run all those tests..........if I hit the one year mark and I'm not better, I'm cutting it down to a few staple foods and doing a HUGE elimination diet..........I know I'll go crazy, but I'll just try to hold out as long as I can, test a few things, try to see if there's any improvement. I do have my biopsy Sept. 13, which I'm hoping...
  18. They didn't say anything to me...........I don't think the minis are okay, but don't quote me on that.
  19. Racheleona, If you're referring to a "personal photo" option--nobody can do that. If you're referring to update your own picture to be your avatar (pic. on the side of every post you make), you need to be an advanced member to do that (30 posts).......
  20. I made a post, here: Open Original Shared Link where I e-mailed companies, including a few candy companies.......if you want the actual e-mails, I could forward them to you, but here are a few of the lists:
  21. Wow..........same guy, too! I couldn't find the list at his "brands" section or whatever.......thanks for posting.
  22. No way, Yankee! I'm having an endo. Sept. 13, also.......although mine is to confirm that the diet is working for me and to check for ulcers........anyway, thought that was funny I'm not so sure if the diabetic diet is that much easier.........sure, you can eat regular foods, but you constantly have to modify what you eat to deal with sugar levels (right...
  23. Yeah.......I called them and it's the big ones........all flavors.......(caramel, buttered popcorn, etc.)
  24. Yeah.....I thought my grandma checked......she doesn't have celiac disease, despite having had osteoporosis, scoliosis, and other bone problems for a long time.......anyway, I don't and wasn't going to use Tums, but she was just interested .....I thought she said they were't gluten-free........
