ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Thanks Evie. My dad smoked for many years as well. He quit about 20 years ago. His birthday is next month, he'll be 79 if he hangs on that long. You must have been so young when you lost your dad. Of course, my dad is an older dad. He was 38 when I was born. Rachel, I hope this bounce episode doesn't stick with you. That is unbelievable... -

He's totally incoherant right now so that's not a possibility. I don't know that anything will get better. He's pretty drugged up. I'll try calling in a couple days, maybe sooner. Doesn't mean I'll get ahold of anyone. I was calling him on the weekends mainly. I'm sad and my emotions are on a roller coaster. Right this minute I'm doing ok. Hoping... -

I'll have to incorporate those in more. I like that idea and using garlic will make them more palatable for the kids. -

Yes, If I remember correctly it was best to use the regular Active Dry Yeast, not the quick rise or rapid. -

Just got a call from my mom who got a call from a friend in Arizona yesterday I think. My dad has gone downhill fast. I just talked to him Saturday and he sounded fine aside from his voice not being very good. I think it was Monday night that he lost it and got violent, then after that weepy. They had to call the paramedics twice. He's in hospice care and... -

We used to use Tahini a lot. I need to try it again. Both Talitha and I tested real low on sesame. Micah loves taco seasoned meat (beef or chicken) and he ate the chicken breast cooked with crushed tomatoes last time we had that. He likes turkey patties, bacon and I think hotdogs. Basically he seems to like the processed meats. We only buy the natural... -
Thanks for the update Sandy. Glad things are going well and that you took her to a different lab. Having someone who is good at draws makes a big difference, especially to a child. Sounds like a good group of doctors. Will be looking for updates as you have them.

Thanks Mia. For some reason I think of sunflowers as nuts. I'll switch to using those and see how she does. We have used sunflowers to make sourcream. Mitch just bought a quinoa hot cereal I need to try for the kids. -

Rachel, Wow, lots of stuff and learning going on. All these things that could contribute to problems. Donna, Hope things go ok with the little bit of nuts you added back in. I'm trying to figure out how to go nut free over here. Bread with fruit spread sounds kind of boring for the kids and I used the nut butters to get a little... -

That reminds me. Talitha seems to have a problem with walnuts too. Maybe nuts are becoming a problem for her. We use cashews for cheese and gravy because they blend easy. I still have about 5-10 lbs worth of them I think. I don't know what we'll do if we have to leave off all nuts. That's about the only top 8 allergen food we are eating. ... -

That's interesting about the nuts. The two older ones are intolerant to peanuts. We've challenged almonds and so far so good. I'm beginning to wonder if cashews are a little problem. We'd be lost without our cashews. Talitha seems to get a tummy ache after she eat Mac and Cheese (cashew cheese). I need to challenge eggs. I already have a small headache... -

My family doesn't seem to be real sensitive to cc issues, but I do have problems with Fritos if I eat too many. I love those chips too. -

I'm doing good, thanks for asking. A little tired today as Seth had a rough night. Are you done with your antibiotics or do you have one more week? -
Sandy, That's great that they moved it up. Makes me wonder how soon they would have booked if they had the info to begin with. Hope all goes well today and we'll be waiting for updates.

Thanks.

Noglugirl, Hugs. I don't know what else to say. Carla pretty much summed things up. Donna, I'm following your bioset with interest as well. I ordered some probiotics so we are going to see how those go for us (mainly Mitch). At some point we may look into bioset for some of us. Not in the near future though. We've still got to dig... -

Laura, It's good to see you popping in here once in awhile. Rachel, I read that you kicked out 4 of your 5 foods and I was like then I read that you added some. I'm still trying to figure out if its eggs or the millet/amaranth bread that's bothering me. I'll stay off bread and try eggs again on Tuesday. I buy organic free... -

That's interesting about your appointment Donna. At least you can add some flavor with coconut or olive oil. Maybe she'll do some food next week. Glad you found a robe you liked. Carla, Good to see that you are still doing as well as to be expected at this point. It does sound like you are doing pretty good overall. -

Rachel, I would think the veggie fed and vegetarian fed would be the same as well, but I'm not sure. I think I'm developing problems with eggs. I've had an obnoxious headache this last week which is better today. I last had eggs on Thursday. I'll be trying the eggs again on Tuesday probably. If I get another bad headache I'll have my answer. But... -

Please keep Julie in your prayers everyone. Her angioedema outbreaks have gotten more consistent and her computer time is very limited due to that. My contact with her has gone down because of it but I still hear from her occasionaly. -

I used my hand mixer for just one loaf of bread. It should be able to handle it.
