AndreaB replied to Mango04's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I still can't log in over there so I can't help. I read that they have had problems with migrating everyone over, so maybe I'm one of those. Is it still your email for logging in. -

I'd say it's a typical teenage attitude (although not all of them), unfortunately. You're plan sounds like a good one and if he needs meds I hope he'll be willing to buckle in for the treatment. April, Sorry about your kids. I don't have antying to offer......I don't even know what chiggers are. I'm feeling a little bit more energetic... -
Ursa, I also think something else is behind your health problems. It's just a matter of finding out what it is. I'm also sorry about your hubby. I know how stressful that is for you.

Julie, Sorry about the nightmare blood draw. Reading right along everyone. I've got a cold/flu thing and haven't had the energy to be on the computer. Was on the couch all day yesterday and plan on being their as much as possible today. -
I'm glad you will be getting Igenex done as well. Lyme sounds like a very good possibility with you.

ARCHIVED Ate A Bunch Of Gluten And Nothing... Questioning And Confused
AndreaB replied to CuriousOne's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
CuriousOne, I don't have the answers for you. The human body is definately complex. I do know that leaky gut can be caused by candida and that does cause a lot of other intolerances. Logically as you heal your gut you should be able to eat more foods again. We've been gluten free for 2 years now and my son who reacted to my cereal trial still reacted... -

Rachel, Ditto to what Sherry said. I'm glad you have a good team working for you. You'll get to the bottom of this. -
Probably the only thing you can do is try some chocolate with lecithin in it. My family was intolerant to soy but do fine with lecithin now. We were totally soy free for over a year though. We will eat stuff with soyoil (like mayo) when we eat at other people's houses since we don't want to put them through any more of a headache than gluten free. We...

ARCHIVED Tired Feeling And Wheat Meat
AndreaB replied to toomuchpizza's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You may have an intolerance. I that case you may want to get an ELISA IgG test done. That tests for delayed reaction to foods, whereas the IgE tests for immediate reaction/allergies. Also, doesn't seitan have soy? Could be that gluten and/or soy are causing you problems but whether gluten free would be a permanent thing would best be determined by... -
ARCHIVED Ate A Bunch Of Gluten And Nothing... Questioning And Confused
AndreaB replied to CuriousOne's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
If you have the funds, I'd highly recommend gene testing. If you have celiac genes you'd not want to mess with the gluten. You may have had other intolerances that we clouding the picture that have been taken care of. Soy is another big one that could have been more of a problem for you than gluten. Sometimes it takes time to build back up to having... -
ARCHIVED Vegan And Now Gluten Free! Help!
AndreaB replied to givenupgluten's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Depending on where you are, I think there are some vegan and gluten free options. I live in Washington so I'm thinking more of Portland and Seattle. My family hasn't had official testing done but we did have gene testing done as well as ELISA testing and gluten/wheat was a problem. We are all gluten free due to that and with the genes, we will remain... -

ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed & Vegetarian
AndreaB replied to DLake's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Spunky, My family is probably more like what you've experienced. We were vegan for 3 years and our health suffered terribly. In hindsight we probably would have been better of staying vegetarian instead of vegan. I would highly recommend that people listen to their own bodies. Vegan did us more harm due to metals, pesticides and such. The animal protein... -

The panaromic should still be good from last year. You need to have someone who's able to read them though, so you will need to ask if they do cavitations. I had found a person in Spokane that has a cavitat machine (it has mixed reviews) but I don't think they are common. I'll message you the dentists. I'll have to see if I still have the links.... -

It took 5 days to get from (maybe 4) Texas to Washington. I'd say six days is fantastic! All this talk about these colors makes me want to order more. Donna.....you need to come up and teach me how to use this stuff. Maybe then I'd have an excuse to get more. -

My dentist doesn't do xrays himself. He had us go to some other place for a panoramic, they did the xrays and then we waited 10-20 minutes and they gave them to us to take to the appointment. He's easy to get into for the most part. I think the hours were 9-5 M-Th. There are dentists in Portland who can do this, but they were more expensive. The one... -

I'm not April or Rachel, but we took papaya enzymes. I forget the brand name but I would recognize it if I saw it. It's available at Whole Foods and Health food stores. Looked it up....it's American Health, Chewable Super Papaya Enzyme Plus. The problem areas correlate with meridians if I'm not mistaken. The kids had lots of tooth things come up...
