Cissie, You've summed everything up pretty good. Celia elected me Mayor, but I think she needs to be elected to some office. How about Governor since Rachel is Prez? I think I'd do better as Treasurer since I used to work in a bank. What does a mayor do anyway? Who wants to be Mayor and who wants to be co-Treasurer with me. Julie, Patti, Evie... -

I love Little House on the Prairie. I know it's not Amish but the clip clop of horses hooves. I'll have to relate your stories to the family after dinner. Had to take a break before I am 2 pages behind because of eating. -

One of the problems with were you are Celia is all the storms...and it's hard to grow produce in the sand. -

Mitch has an addon for the peace and quiet....With a truck I'll take care of the peas. And of course if we get enough people helping out, we'd have enough to jump on a bandwagon. I can even pull the bandwagon with the truck. -

Are there any bodies of water inland that aren't populated that are warm enough for Celia's dolphins and close enough to shopping but far enough to have peace and quiet? Tony could be captain of the boat or barge and Mitch could drive everyone shopping and bring the truckloads of stuff back. -
I'm sorry Beverly. I don't have any advice but I thought I had read something about antibiotics messing people up as far as diet. I could be wrong and hopefully someone will jump on that knows more.

OK, we'll set out a bowl for you. I love the ocean...but it's so populous by the ocean. How close would you want to be? And which ocean or does it matter? -

Can't sleep with those miserable city lights, we have headlights constantly driving by and we live in a small town, just on one of the main roads. Telescopes, my dad got one for us that we haven't really used (a little discovery channel one I think)...of course once the kids get older it will come in quite handy. -

We are getting ready to have mac & vegan cheese with corn pasta since we are trying to give T a week break from rice. It has bulk chicken basil sausage and turkey bacon and peas with it. I was going to do carbonara but since we don't eat cheese and my daughter is not fond of the idea of slimey uncooked egg, we opted for this. Carbonara next weekend... -

Isn't there anything higher up than mayor? How about governor of our little farm community. Who's going to take on the task of training the geese to be nice to us folks inside and keep outsiders out? -

It's hard to find someone with a sense of humor like Mitch's . Mitch's reply...at least I drive a semi and not the good humor trucks. My reply...He drives flatbed locally but it's anywhere from 8-16 hour days. Maybe being on the road all by himself contributes to his sense of humor. We had a church member that has since moved that was right in with him... -

Husband (Mitch) narration following: If you are fortunate enough to live on a farm with a shopping mall in the not to far distance, that would be the ideal thing. You could either have someone else do your shopping or do it yourself. This works well especially around birthdays and christmas. In other words if you have someone else do your shopping... -

Did I say that?! No I'm not Urkel either. I've always thought the mennonites dress looked neat and tidy. So let see, I can send you shopping for me right? I hate shopping, unless I can shop online. I know, so unlike a girl to not like shopping, but I'm sure you'll recover from the shock. -

I love the idea of a fresh water spring....those are extemely hard to come by if the land around them even exists anymore. I we have sections, we'd be in the double ho-hum side according to most of you. Patti, I prefer to roll and my hubby does great with the edging. I always get paint on the ceiling or edging where it's not supposed to be... -

Rod and Staff is a Mennonite publishing company in Kentucky that does the homeschooling program as well as reading books. I would assume they use the same materials for the most part in there schools. I really like the program since it is so Jesus based, unlike alot of homeschool stuff out there. That sounds like fun Patti. My husband's family... -

As long as you're dressed. That's Rachelville's rules. I do wear dresses and skirts BTW and I dress modestly when I'm out. If you're more comfortable in other things I'm not going to knock you for it (as long as your dressed). I'm definately not into nudist colonies...do those things even still exist? We all need to live with our conscience and... -

Wow Evie, I really like the Mennonite homeschool program. I think the Mennonites and Adventist share a lot of the same beliefs. One thing I'm confused about is that they don't associate with those outside their faith as far as business anyway. That may be a more conservative group though. We have ADRA for our disaster response team. They work worldwide... -

Do we have a life anymore outside of this thread? My daughter not only looks like me she is like me. Just like I'm like my mom, and so on. The female side of my family is very head strong, although I've gotten better since becoming a christian. My daughter is very difficult for me since we are the same personality. I feel sorry for my hubby. My... -

Actually the mennonites aren't as strict as the amish. They are more modern at least with conveniences. I won't be wearing a bonnet any time soon. Thanks for the tip on the culottes....I'll look for them...they look comfy anyway. We've been lazy about getting to church with the little one. It messes up his day so much....but then so did our... -
I'm sorry Carrie. I don't have any severe allergies so I can't help you there. I agree with Patti to get some allergy testing done if you can, and the epi-pens.

Thank you Julie...you can always tell when we get to the end of a roll because we typically finish it off with pictures by the car so we can go get it developed. Welcome to sunny Washington. We took all our gliadin containing food that hadn't been opened back to the store yesterday. Now if my daughter is really allergic to rice I've got some quite... -

I got burned to a crisp a few times at water parks. Can't do that anymore, my ears don't like water. One time my shoulders looked like the sahara desert. Another time I had to ask to wear my swimsuit with a lightweight shirt and pants. Wanna come weed my hill? We have a weed hill outside that we can't keep up with...especially with my allergies. -

The variety is one of the things that's so great about this thread. And thank you about the pic. I love all my kidlets even if they do drive me crazy sometimes. My hubby spoils me rotten. Too bad he can't be home more often. He gave me blueberries and raspberries to eat and just produced a plate of broccoli, omelet with mushrooms, avocado...
