Hey all! I've mainly been lurking today. Am I sick? Susan, You have been there during this great time of need for your family and I'm sure that means a lot to them. Don't be to hard on yourself. Move forward and don't look back with regrets. Regrets help us to grow but not if we don't let them go. Karen, I hope that you get some... -

ARCHIVED Celiac Or Not?
AndreaB replied to mike2184's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome Mike. I don't whether you are celiac or "just" gluten intolerant. Both are gluten free for life. Sounds like you are on the right path. -

ARCHIVED Would You Leave Your Kids?
AndreaB replied to skipper30's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My kids are similar in age 6 1/2, almost 4, and 8 months. My mother already things we are being a bit ridiculous since we brought our own peanut butter and fruit spread last time we went to visit her. She definately would not be careful enough about cc issues. I think you made the right decision at this time even though it may have been difficult to pass... -

ARCHIVED My Little One Has Been So Sick!
AndreaB replied to imsohungry's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Julie, If you baby is now allergic or intolerant to soy you must not get the pneumococcal again. It has soy protein in it. My son broke out with eczema 1-2 weeks after his 2 month shots....I think it was the pneumococcal but can't be sure with all they give. He has not gotten any since and with me going on a gluten and soy free diet his eczema cleared... -

First of all HUGS. I'm glad you all made it through the biopsy. I would definately try to find another doctor. It's also nice to know that your family is behind you as far as a gluten free diet. That takes a lot of stress off you I'm sure. As far as her blood work....if she is positive than at the very least she is gluten intolerant which still means...

ARCHIVED Is 17 Months Too Young To Do Blood Test For Celiac?
AndreaB replied to Luvs to Scrap's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Kendra, Below I've copied the info from the email I received from enterolab. You would need to submit the billing to your insurance to be reimbursed as enterolab doesn't bill insurance companies. At least the codes can help you figure out how much insurance would cover. I included soy/egg/yeast just in case you are ever interested in those. This is... -

ARCHIVED Is 17 Months Too Young To Do Blood Test For Celiac?
AndreaB replied to Luvs to Scrap's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Kendra, Personally, I'd scrounge up the money, save it whatever for the enterolab tests. If she is just towards the beginning of a gluten intolerance then her blood test numbers will not show it. If you have to wait another 1,2,3,4 etc. years before it shows in her blood, how much worse will she be. If you are ok going gluten free without the tests... -

I used to work in a bank Susan, in the accounting department....reconciling the bank's statements was among my duties. Ummmm, it does help to balance your account....if you are like me with all this debit card stuff you might forget to annotate something. I'll be glad to help....I'm the town treasurer after all and no one has volunteered to co-treasure... -

April, Welcome to Rachelville. I do hope you will become a regular. Since I've left the vegan diet I've only eaten 100% grass fed beef, I'm not against natural which is mostly grass fed though I prefer the 100% grass fed. I believe the 100% is much healthier for you, and you are right about the omega's. I used to eat the regular stuff....about 10... -

Congratulations Picard!!!! I love babies, I do hope you'll share a picture. And yes, I think you are in trouble. When the due date....my daughter was born Dec 22. -
I believe the brand that is gluten free is San-j, be sure to read ingredients before buying though. As far as appetite, you definately need to do what is necessary to keep up your energy and supply baby with what he/she needs. I eat very large meals, which works for me (usually 2 during the week and 3 on the weekend), but many others do better on more frequent...
