  1. The bee stings are fine. They stopped hurting yesterday, or maybe even Sunday night. The kids weren't complaining about them.
  2. Such great news and I'm sure a relief for all of you to be heading home.
  3. Hi all! Just wanted to check in....I've been reading, just not posting. Seth had oatmeal for the first time today. We'll see how that goes. Cecile, Hope this storm heads in a different direction. Keep us posted as you can.
  4. I've noticed my son's stool is grainy like sand too. He's almost 4 and not potty trained yet, unfortunately. I always ask him if he's been playing in the sand, eating sand. We are gluten free now for almost 2 months, but still dairy light. None of us is intolerant to dairy but I haven't had allergy testing done on the kids. I'm mildly allergic. His...
  5. Nancy, I underwent allergy testing when my son was 3 months old because he had broken out with eczema and everything I read said it was usually food associated. Found out I was allergic to wheat/spelt/rye/gluten/gliadin/soy/navy bean/kidney bean/asparagus/banana/pineapple/dairy (except cheddar cheese) and goat milk. I had read that soy can cause intestinal...
  6. I wasn't aware of the pancake breakfast. I probably wouldn't go because I am also soy intolerant and mildly dairy allergic. I am only eating butter at this point and will probably be cutting that out. If I eat dairy I make sure it is organic.
  7. Yep. Love Lingonberries market. I found them out by looking online for stores that carried enjoy life products. They have such an amazing variety off gluten free stuff at that store! We are just off exit 27 (I-5). What time do you think you'll be down in Vancouver?
  8. From what I understand, he can have gluten intolerance but not celiac with those genes. Since celiac tends to other autoimmune diseases I would assume that he wouldn't be as prone to those because of the genes but I'm not sure.
  9. Hi, I'm south of you about 1-1 1/2 hours (north of Vancouver WA). I'm originally from Olympia and my mother lives there so I'm still up to visit about once a month.
  10. You don't have to be eating gluten to do the enterolab tests. We didn't even go through a doctor but I sent the results to the two that we see. Never heard back from them. If you want the official gold standard test with the biopsy, then yes, you need to stay on gluten. It really depends on how you will feel if you don't have it done.
  11. From Mitch: The job would entail the proper dietary maintenance which results in a better quality of life. The individual essentially would be self appointed gluten free experts. This would be a life long hobby but for those who consider it a job, it would be moonlighting.
  12. More great news for Megan! Will add Will to our prayer list.
  13. From Mitch: Notice to all residents of Rachelville. The following occupation has openings for applications. Town B.U.M. (Bowels Under Maintenance) This position does not ever close and applicants are permitted regardless of age, creed, race, religion. We are an equal opporunity village.
  14. Rachelville Rich farmland by the ocean, with mountains at our back to provide fresh spring water. Population (not sure haven't counted) President: Rachel Vice President: Patti Governor: Julie Lt. Governors: Miamia & Chelsea Mayor: Andrea Senator: Lisa Secretary: Donna & Susan Minister of Defense: Cissi in charge of...
  15. Do you eat meat? I was vegan before my allergy tests and then enterolab tests. I find that if I don't eat meat at my meals (usually only 2 meals a day), then I'm starving long before the next meal. On the weekends when my husband is home he makes sure I eat three meals most times. When I just have hot cereal with various toppings including nuts, then...
  16. The whole gluten intolerance panel which includes the gene testing, ttg, IgA, malabsorption (and possibly still dairy at n/c) is $369. I'm not sure what the $99 one covers but I'm sure it's listed on their site. Open Original Shared Link
  17. I am also shocked. I have heard of children taken from their parents based on supposed "neglect". There is also a case online that happened in Oregon, but these people were traveling homeschooling family. I do know parents rights are being stripped from them. Just look at the case of the 16 year old teen that is being refused his right to choose medical...
  18. I know what you mean. When we got our van last month the dealership had a TV and my daughter happened to find Little House. She was confused by all the commercials since she was used to watching them commercial free.
  19. We don't have the TV hooked up. We just have DVD's and videos so we can control what their options are. I love Lara bars....it's our new family favorite. That's a great report Vincent.....Thank you again.
  20. I had never even heard of celiac before finding this site. I had originally been searching for wheat allergies or intolerances. Learned about enterolab and had that testing done. Found out 3 of us are gluten intolerant. Never even went through the doctor. I would like to thank Scott for putting this site and forum up. I've learned a lot and made a lot...
  21. Amen to that. I think about that often to. These last few months the kids have been watching entirely too much TV in the form of Little House, Mister Ed, Davey & Goliath, Andy Griffith, My Friend Ficka, Thunderhead, National Velvet, Lassie, and Charlie Brown Christmas. That's about all we have but I may have missed a few.
  22. Night Cissie, Cecile...think we've already lost Susan. Rachel must have been busy today too. Don't think she posted today.
  23. Ummm, we are going to have a perfect green lawn, gardens, landscaping etc. No tumbleweeds rolling down our streets.
  24. Some Adventist churches offer a 5 day stop smoking plan you could check into if you wanted.
  25. We don't. Still would highly recommend quitting when you feel you've got your life balanced enough to tackle it.
