  1. I just thawed a bag of ham chunks/slices that was nearing the end of it's freezer life and I need to do soemthing with it. I've already made split pea / lentil soup with ham chunks, and ham and egg breakfast burritos (both in the freezer. Any other ideas?
  2. Contact your pediatrician, assuming she's the one that did the tests, tell her you can't continue to keep giving your daughter gluten and confirm (don't ask) that she'll be willing to provide documentation for school, should the need arise.
  3. None of those have anything to do with gluten. Are there more tests? It seems odd that anyone would suggest a gluten sensitivity without ever testing for a gluten reaction.
  4. Have fun picking out the people who look like each other, unless these are the legal related types. Having an ambitious weekend. Today's goal: get rid of all the junk food in the house.
  5. I agree with this. If your body tells you a certain food is bad, a piece of paper should be irrelevant. If I eat a peach, my throat swells shut. I don't need someone else to confirm this for me.
  6. snort I did come home. He thinks we should concentrate on building the friendship. :P We'll have to only meet in public places, I think. Hope y'all have had an amazing Christmas, and have plenty o' tums on hand.
  7. OK. I suck at 'apart time'. Going over to have a glass of wine with BE. But just one glass. And nothing more. Honest.
  8. nah. You just inspire us to try harder, or, y'know, steal your hard work...
  9. BE and I are taking a couple weeks off to remember who we are. He's also blowing off family today to go skiing. It's been a stressful month and we've been each other's comfort and neither of us want that to define us. We're doing other friends until after the new year, and then he suggested we have a 'first date' so we don't get caught in any dating ruts...
  10. Murry Chipmunks!!! I never listened well when I was young.
  11. Oscar eats beeves!! (or drinks with them...)
  12. I like this idea. Any run of the mill chef can use flour. Why don't you aim for being an extraordinary chef who cooks only with whole foods?
  13. I did for a while, just because that's what I do and it took me a while to remember that he wasn't talking to me. Now he seems to make it a point to be on his way somewhere else when I go in the store. I think it's kinda funny, and I can't imagine having enough energy to remember to snub someone. I just do what's easiest, and that's smile and say hi...
  14. Sky, what's the gist of that book?
  15. Not sure if I ever told y'all about the end of my ex saga. He was renting the spare room in my house, which I thought was a great deal for someone since I leave at 5 or 6 am and get home at 7 or 8 and pretty much go straight to bed, but he didn't seem to like it. Anyway, Feb? March? of last year he told me he was putting his stuff in storage, going...
  16. A naked sooperman? Might be ok... So....I went to the bank to ruin my ex hubby's Christmas (cashed his post-dated rent check that he'd probably forgotten about ) then stopped at the store to get food. Whilst wandering the aisles it suddenly and completely hit me that I have no obligations this weekend. No theater, no homework, no tests, personal...
  17. There is no "Celiac gene". There are only certain genes that are more associated with the disease.
  18. Santa lives in Montreal!! Open Original Shared Link
  19. Don't go. Your husband tells them he's tired of watching his wife be unhappy at Christmas and he's taking you out for dinner. You'll come to their house after everyone has eaten and spend some time with them then. Any issues they have with it, the hubby responds with "I don't want to see my wife hurt. Wouldn't you do the same?"
  20. Gluten on the oven knobs? Do you wash your hands before you touch your toast? Gluten on your mixer?
  21. meat and vegetables? No starches/grains/simple sugars. Limited oil (don't fry things).
  22. Just went out for Dim Sum and I'm completely stuffed. (It helps to go out with Asians)
  23. I'm not sure almond milk would be your best choice, it's a bit grainy... I'd try coconut milk, maybe thinned with a bit of almond milk.
