  1. aww, Judy trapped in the dungeon basement again. Me bro left a message last night, they are exhausted and they'll call me when they get up, so I'm still here. Put the t'maters outside for the weekend. Have given the cats huge bowls of food. Have an assortment of people coming over to peer at the chicks. Think I got it all covered.
  2. and not smoking makes you sexier.....in case you ever wondered what the outsider's perspective was...
  3. It all does get easier, I promise you. Right now everything is new and there is so much to learn, but as pieces of this new approach to eating start to stick in your brain, they become habit, and not nearly so overwhelming. Hang in there, and come here whenever you need a hand or an ear.
  4. I never had DH, but I have amazingly reactive skin. I get a dry scaly itchy patch anywhere ive had some small abrasive injury, like, my jeans rubbing against my skin. Is it possible she just had a simple itch and scratching it has made it worse?
  5. Just knowing the sillies are drinking in support makes everything better
  6. Civkebs are learnin t'fly. The white one leapt out of her box, scampered around the room for a few minutes, then suddenly realized she had no way to get back in to her box. For about a minute she stood there, eying me sideways, then suddenly raced up my knee, hurled herself into the box and raced all the way back into the cat carrier where she could be...
  7. shhhhh  look at the bottom of your screen.....the blue smurf people listen in and subliminally (OK, straight out there) advertise into our brains.....
  8. Bathrobe. corn syrup hair. burnt pie. ciggy hanging outta yer mouth, constantly.
  9. What she said Home. Eating chocolate chip mint ice cream. Called a friend that I just heard got laid off and talked her into going out for margaritas this afternoon. (It wasn't that hard of a sell.) After I've gotten all sugared up I plan to tackle some of the things that you can't get to when you get home at 9pm, like...dishes....and....giant balls...
  10. Well, I'm such a frickin' Pollyanna that I think that adversity is a way to steer you towards something better that you wouldn't have otherwise found. I just hope I find it soon -- I'm not overly fond of the adversity part of the equation.
  11. Your body needs some time to reestablish itself. Keep eating healthy, maybe consider some probiotics if you aren't eating yogurt to help your gut recover. And trust your body, it will try to tell you what it needs.
  12. Thanks Patti. I sorta cried all night, so I do look delightful this morning. I have to go in to finish the assay I started yesterday. No matter how upset I am I can't throw $3K down the drain because I 'didn't feel like it'. Once that's done I'll just leave. After that, I don't know. On the up side, Lefty has no idea why his services as a stuffed...
  13. Work has been stressful for a while. Had a bit of a breakdown. Cried for hours. but, of course, since no one was in the lab working but me, it was quite private. May have quit. Sent an ambiguously worded email to the boss (who is again out of town) that I just couldn't do it. Not really sure what I will do. Can't really afford to quit, but don't know...
  14. You are the only one who knows what your body is doing, and the only one who can decide what's right for you. I'm sure you have situations where you can 'tough it out' and others that require you to acquiesce to your body's demands. I interpret other people's posts as "do as much as you can, without damaging your health. Say "no" because you can't, not...
  15. awwwwwww you'll miss your sweet, sweet boy. I'm sure he was very thankful for the wonderful life you shared with him and finally felt you could take care of things without him. he will, no doubt, be keeping tabs on you for a while anyway.
  16. Hi Paul, New members have to have a minimum number of posts before they can use the pm feature. Can you post your question in the forum?
  17. No way! We'd all end up as anomalous humanoids in his books - and he wouldn't even have to tweak our personalities to fit! How embarrassing would that be!
  18. OMG!! What if you have Celiac disease!?!?!?!?
  19. Do not know his relationship status, but he plays on the gay men's soccer team, so I don't think I'm his type. Did not get a chance to ask him how he knew.....
  20. I am completely and absolutely gluten-free, but there are random things that I eat that will give me instant diarrhea. Must always be prepared......or hungry......
  21. I'm tired and grouchy, but I did want to share my fab dim sum experience. A previous lab member was visiting from the east coast so a bunch of us went out for dim sum. I was sitting near a guy who is clearly a dim sum aficianado so I asked if one particular bun was bread or rice. He said "oh, you don't eat gluten?" and proceeded to pick out all the rice...
  22. Everyone's body reacts differently. I had some issues go away immediately and some things that kind of came and went for months. Most people find that vitamins help them a lot. If you can't, or don't want to, get your levels checked you can add a multivitamin and maybe some B-complex and folic acid. The B vitamins are water soluble and it would be very...
